Houston we have a problem.....confession/vent

Okay, June was a rough month for me. I went through two different surgeries, I've been home from work for a month now recovering. I went to get my dress altered and guess what....it doesn't fit anymore!!! That's right, my A$$ has gotten too fat for my dress. Now of course I had a melt down, tears were involved and all I wanted was a stupid Oreo Blizzard (no, I didn't have one) Now I have 3 months to fix my "issue"   Okay...confession/vent over......

You can totally do this in 3 months! And I'm also sorry that happened. I lost 40 pounds prior to getting engaged and the stress of the wedding has caused my weight loss to stop and I'm working hard just to maintain my weight! (when in reality I still have 10 more pounds to my goal! ugh!)

  • You WILL fit in that dress! You are strong and you can do this! :) We'll keep you motivated! :D
  • You can do this!!  If you need a partner I'm all for it.  After my cupcake meltdown yesterday I need to jump on the fitness wagon;)  Since we ARE date twins and all this would be a great way to motivate each other...what do you say?!?
  • Bean - don't worry, three months is plenty of time!  I can totally relate - I had spinal surgery and couldn't workout for an entire year.  Being stuck at home is THE WORST!  Everyone thinks you're on vacation, but in reality its terrible!

Probably a very stupid question since you just had surgery, but are you allowed to exercise at all?  I just started doing P90X workout program and I've had a lot of success (it's supposed to get you ripped in 90 days).  If you will be able to work out, let me know and I'd be happy to share the DVDs with you.

Otherwise, I think we should all start exchanging healthy recipes and tips :)  I think there are a lot of us on this board trying to fit into our dream dress!  Good luck!

  • You can totally do it!  I'm doing Weight Watchers and it works really well.  I have already lost 18 pounds.  My motivation is if I lose 50 pounds I can go dress shopping.  We can both do this!!!!

  • Ya'll are the best! It just sucks, all my other clothes fit dang it!! Its been less than a 10 pound shift but it has kicked my dress in the butt. It won't come close to zipping at the top. WTF!! I know I have gotten flabby sitting around and not hitting the elliptical but dang!

Iberrios--you are on! I started back on the diet  instantaneously but the 4th parties are gonna blow it to some extent.

Jessy--Thanks so much, we actually have P90X already (its the FI's) but I have not been able to do my routine for about 3 months due to medical issues. Hopefully that will all be fixed and I will be cleared next week....fingers crossed!
  • 3 months is lots of time.  WATER WATER WATER...more than you think you can even handle.  Then stay away from carbs (say what you will but you will see a big difference and then you can change your diet to being more realistic after the wedding)
I have another 15 pounds to loose, but I lost 20 with la weightloss.  It's a lot of money for what it is but at the end of the day if you have the money to spend it does work...you meet with someone three times a week and it makes you more accountable.
I'm in the same boat!  Gotta get out of the bad food habbit and into the gym habbit!

Good to hear that you recovered well from the medical issues, that is a lot of stress on your mind and body, good for you!

    Stay strong!!

  • Going through surgeries are difficult enough, plus they really limit your activity level. I'm sure you will fit & look great in your dress when it's time!  It sucks not being able to work, etc. in part because it feels like crap to feel like you're not doing anything productive. You're on the upswing though, so things should turn around now! :)

  • I agree, you can totally do it! Like PP said, try to stick to water. If you are craving something fizzy, have a flavored sparkling water. That's my secret to nixing soda, which can be addictive for me.

Swimming is great exercise that it is easy on your body if you have access to a pool.

Good luck! I know you can do it!
  • Everything will be okay, you can do this!!
  • Aww so sorry this is going on.

You can do it! you can do it!Laughing

  • Don't be so hard on yourself!  It's important that you recover fully from your surgeries.

And I agree with pp that 10 pounds is totally doable.
