I had my final details with the venue this week and I am so happy! At first I was wondering if it was rude to not allow shots on our bar, and as we can only pay by consumption (no bar packages in Scotland) it would cost us quite a bit extra.
The venue have said that for an open bar it is their policy to remove shots like Jägerbombs from the bar, and don't actually allow doubles or triples, so no issues there at all.
Also we wanted a quality Scottish beer by the keg. I had budgeted extra for this as the venue where I work (and many others) charges a premium for this. My wedding venue are only going to charge £2 a pint as we are 'buying in bulk'. For those from other parts of the whole that is a fricking steal!
Then we discussed premium products. They charge pretty much the same for brands like Grey Goose, Hendricks etc! I am so happy our friends and family can choose their favourites without it costing us an arm and a leg. It's like well gin for £3 and Bombay for £3.30, that sort of thing.
We can also afford in our budget to offer the full range of wines and sparkling wines to our guests. Some of the wines are a bit pricey but it is more than compensated by the cheap beer.
Then the venue lady asked us if we wanted to include Single Malt Whisky like Lagavulin 16 etc. The most expensive one is £4.30 so I was like yes please!
So pleased!
