It is done...Vendor reviews!

Alright, so I did not post on here near as often as I had planned on doing so, but as I am sure most of you are figuring out; you don't have nearly as much time as you wish you did when it comes to planning a wedding!  Anyways, I thought I should still share some vendor reviews because I have good things to say about all of them!  So here goes...

Ceremony Venue- A+  Memorial Drive Methodist Church:  Beautiful church with wonderful officiant!  Rev. Reedstrom really took the time to get to know us and made us wish we lived in Houston so that we could attend the church every week!

Reception Venue- The Courtyard on St. James- A+:  The venue was perfect for our wedding of about 120!  The food was great and I have nothing but good things to say about the place!

Cake- Susie's Cakes A+:  Not only was my cake beautiful, but it was so delicious and very affordable!  What more could you ask for?!

DJ- LG Entertainment A: Great job, I know I was battling a few other requests, but they did a good job of listening to me and not what a few random guest wanted which is key in my opinion.

Photographer- Brittany Dawson Photography A+:  Amazing!  Went along with all of my ideas and was excited as I was!

Decor/Flowers/Rentals- Darryl & Co.:  A+++++:  I can not say enough good things about this company!  I worked with Scott who is amazing!  He was the first person I talked to that actually "got" my ideas/what I was talking about!  They have the most amazing selection of rental furniture and gorgeous flowers!  I felt like Scott loved and cared about my wedding as much as I did and the wonderful result of that can be seen throughout my reception!  Check out the link to see some of the reception pics/decor through my blog to see exactly what I am talking about!

Keep in mind, every bit of furniture was brought in by Darryl & Co., right down to the fireplace, bar, sofas, rugs, and coffee tables!  Don't forget though they were also responsible for all the flowers and linens!  They are not only beautiful, but you only end up paying one set up fee which helps to make them even more reasonable!  I hope this can help a fellow Houston bride!

Thank you so much! I got so discouraged while dress shopping because once I decided to use Grace Kelly's dress as my inspiration, I could not find a single thing with sleeves! Just as I decided it was time to start looking into having someone customize a dress and jacket combo, I spotted my ceremony gown in a local Houston wedding publication! The dress is by Novia d'Art and it was purchased from Now and Forever Bridal Boutique in Houston, TX. Luckily for current brides hoping to find a Grace Kelly dress of their own, I imagine Kate Middleton's gown selection will help to make their search easier than mine!

Hi there, sorry I'm just now responding... I have not found any dresses that look just like my ceremony dress, but I did do a blog post on some dresses that I think could share the same Grace Kelly inspiration.  I also included a link on there to a website that I love because it features wedding dresses by so many different designers (not just the same ol', well known ones you see in every magazine).  I'll keep an eye out though and let you know if I see anything that very closely resembles mine!  Here's the post...
