California Middle Name Change

Hi there,
I am getting married in July and am planning to change my last name to my fiancé's. I would like to add my maiden name as a second middle name. I have read conflicting things online about whether this is part of the marriage name change or if it has to be a legal name change (which costs a lot more money). Has anyone done this in California and know the process?

    I didn't choose to do that, but I did get married in California and considered it, so I looked into the process. It's really simple: when you go get the license with your fiance,  there's a section where you fill out your new full name. Just put both middle names in the,middle name spot. Done! The only hard part is that you have to make the name decision when you pick up your license (up to 90 days in advance) rather than getting to wait until the wedding day!
