Worth the Lurk

I have been on here a short time, and the amount of knowledge that I have picked up is priceless. While I'd like to think that I will be a good host, I can see how wedding planning will be overwhelming, and I will probably lose my mind at some point. The honesty refreshing as I am wading through the Pinterest boards, unicorn farts, and bridal blogs. There is so much advice out there for newly engaged ladies. 

I'll continue to lurk for now, but I appreciate the regulars and their knowledge about hosting.

    Lurking is a great way to get a feel for the nature of the boards and get some common questions answered, glad you're finding it useful. But don't be afraid to ask questions and jump in either. Welcome to TK!

    I don't think it's ever too early to start planning. And even if you're not asking for help, it's fine to just engage in threads.

    Kind of unrelated to your original post, but we have a 2.5 year engagement.  We booked all of our major contracts (venue, photographer, dj) in 2015.  this means I get 2015 pricing for a wedding in 2017!  This alone can save a TON of money so go ahead and start planning!

    I never thought about that! Fortunately, we have found a wedding planner and she's going to be able to FT us so we can see the space and book sooner rather than later!
