Creative Ideas for a Honeymoon at Home?

Good morning!

FI and I decided to use our honeymoon savings to purchase a home, instead of taking a honeymoon somewhere out of the country.

We're getting married in Napa, and we'll be there a week early, so we'll do wine tastings and such, which will feel like a honeymoon, except that it will be before the wedding and a ton of OOT guests will be there too. Wink So... not at all like a honeymoon actually.

We live in north Florida and have a week off together after the wedding. We are trying to think of some ideas for how to spend that week - either at home, somewhere close, or both. We are already planning to take a 4 hour trip southwest to an awesome place on the gulf where I practically grew up, and stay for a couple of days, but we're trying to think of some other romantic things to do.

Any thoughts besides the standard Orlando theme park things, and the beach (which we'll probably do a lot of)? If you had to have a honeymoon where you live, what would you spend a week doing?

St. Augustine and Amelia Island are both possibilities.  They're close but going to them always makes me feel like I'm a world away because they are so picturesque! In St. Augustine, there's all the historic sites plus the winery.  On Amelia Island, there's a state park you could explore.  I'm not sure either place has enough to fill a whole week so maybe you could do both :)

    I second Amelia Island, but i'm biased, : )

There are actually three+ state parks on the island.  Fort Clinch State Park has a neat Civil War era fort and amazing hiking/biking trails.  I'm not much of an off-roading biker, but FI goes and comes back drenched in sweat, looking as if he's had the time (and workout!) of his life.

Big Talbot Island state park also has hiking trails and a really neat beach that's covered in driftwood.  Little Talbot Island has beautiful beaches.

The Amelia Island Museum of history does historic pub crawls on Thursday evenings.  The tour takes you through four bars/pubs downtown and talks about the history of them.  The tour cost includes one beer or wine at each bar.
