And now my dermatologist screwed up

I've had a long day and just need to vent. Among other things, we received an email from a friend helping us figure out ceremony music, and she's insulted that we want demos from the musicians that she secured for us (without asking) because we should trust that she can pick reputable musicians.

To top it all off, I just went to pick up a prescription for my acne (I went to a derm ~9 months ago to clear up my skin for the wedding) and they said that the derm denied their request for a refill because I'm supposed to make a follow-up appointment. They never said anything about that, and now I'm out of pills so now I'm freaking out that my skin is going to be awful because we're a month away from wedding day. And of course, as you all know, wedding planning kind of takes up time on the calendar so I don't exactly have lots of extra time in my schedule. On top of that, my skin takes *forever* to clear up and heal so if I break out, it won't be gone by our wedding day. :'(

  • I know that my Pharmacist will cover a month of a medication without a prescription provided it is not analgesic or something that you would have to be closely monitored on. Might be worth asking the Pharmacist ... "I didn't understand that I had to book an appointment and now I can't get an appointment until after my wedding. This med is working wonders and I'm hoping that your Pharmacy allows discretion with providing a bridging dose of this med so that I'm not without this important prescription."
  • Thanks guys! Seriously. I had a mini-meltdown this evening and feel better after a nice long talk with my Mom. But thank you, these are some good ideas. I come from a family that doesn't do a lot of meds, so to be honest, I don't fill prescriptions often. But I'm still pissed at my derm's office. If they had told me I needed a check in appointment the last time I was there, I would have made an appointment right then and there. >:)
  • Yeah, it wouldn't hurt to ask!
What did you think would happen if you walked up to a group of internet strangers and told them to get shoehorned by their lady doc?~StageManager14

Call the derm office and get them to fax over another prescription to the pharmacy.
