i know I've seen recommendations, but I ignored them. Now i've figured out I like to listen while I walk so anyone want to recommend any?

Re: Podcasts

  • Someone on here recommended West Wing Weekly if you like the west wing. Josh Malina co-hosts and I've like it. I'm also on Season 2 of Undisclosed which is also really good.

    Cracked.com's podcast
    Undisclosed
    Sword and scale
    Death sex money
Bitch sesh (a real housewives breakdown)
    True crime garage
    Criminal
    Nerdist
    My favorite murder

I'll think of more...I have a true crime addiction. ;)
  • H is obsessed with the How Stuff Works podcast
  • I was finally able to login today!

@mrsconn23 I have an obsession with true crime podcasts right now.

I'd also recommend the 12 part Charles Manson series on You Must Remember This- there's so much more to that story than I ever thought!

Alec Baldwin's Here's the Thing is also pretty good, especially the episodes with the comedians.

I just started listening to Generation Why...it's interesting, I can't tell yet how I feel about it.

  • Yes! to @mrsconn23's list. I am working my way through My Favorite Murder and really enjoying it. Additionally, I like What You Missed in history Class.

The generation why is hit or miss for me.

  • I listen to a ton - it's obvious it's an election year so a lot of political stuff right now):
    Undisclosed - Wrongful conviction investigations
Stuff Mom Never Told You - feminist stuff
Keepin' it 1600 - politics with a couple guys who worked on Obama's campaigns
    The Run-up - NYT politics
FiveThirtyEight Elections - 538 politics (relatively nonpartisan but they don't like Trump)
Modern Love - short stories on love read by famous people
Surprisingly Awesome - in depth look into things that are surprisingly awesome - last episode, Cardboard
The Mortified Podcast - people reading their teenage writings
Reply All - stories about the internet
    Criminal - stories about crime/criminals
This American Life - everyone knows this american life
Politically Reactive - politics discussion with a couple comedians, very liberal, very funny. had Lindy West on this week to talk about women/feminism, was very interesting
  • Thanks for all the suggestions. I didn't want to think today so went for bitch session.
    • First season of Serial (don't personally care for the 2nd season)
    • My Dad Wrote a Porno (very NSFW obvs)
    • Bridechilla (formerly Save the Date)
    • Stuff You Missed in History Class
    • Stuff They Don't Want You to Know (conspiracy stuff that's fascinating)
    • Backstory (history)
    Daisypath Anniversary tickers
  • History Chicks. Two women pick a wonen from history and research her independently for weeks. Then sit down and talk about her for an hour. It is AMAZING!!! I thought I knew a lot women's history but damn, the things I have learned.

These two have a great rapport and they are funny as hell.

  • I really like comedy Podcasts, so my personal favorites:

    How Did this Get Made
Throwing Shade (VERY liberal slant, lol)
    International Waters
    If I Were You
    Sklarbro Country
Not too Deep with Grace Helbig
    You Made it Weird

And then another vote for West Wing Weekly and The West Wing History Class

  • Also, the Revoltuions podcast is great if you're into history.
  • I'm a total podcast fiend!  Currently subscribed to:

More Perfect (Radiolab spinoff about the supreme court)
Surprisingly Awesome (uncovering interesting things about "boring" topics)
Savage Lovecast (Frank and explicit sex and relationship advice)
Hidden Brain (another one about the science behind human behavior)
Radio Diaries (first-person recordings from of regular and famous people)
Mystery Show (playful investigative journalism on people's silly little mysteries)
This American Life (I second the poster who said everyone knows this one)
Wait Wait Don't Tell Me (comedy quiz show about current events)
StartUp (Frank and in-depth look at what it takes to start a business)
Reply All (Hilarious and informative look at things from the internet)
Criminal (Tales of people who have been connected with crimes past & present)
Serial (Pretty sure everyone knows Serial, too)
Dear Sugar (Life advice from two literary figures)
  • The Moth---great storytelling.
Story Corps---longer interviews than what you hear on NPR
The Room Where It's Happening---all things "Hamilton" interviews with cast and production people, a good hour with the author of the book that inspired the show
  • Hmmm...I might have to look into listening to some podcasts at work.  I spend a lot of my time bored and so many of these sound interesting.  It could really perk up my day!
