Wednesday!

Grr-ness first...

I swear I hate dealing with doctor's offices.  Simple calls always take an hour (just trying to add a flu shot to my kids upcoming appts).  Plus my primary doc doesn't do IUD removal/replacement, so then I had to enroll as a new patient at a new practice and I get the pleasure of a new pap (even though I'm not due for one).  DH needs to get the snip, snip.

Plus, this stupid allergy fog is still kind of hanging around.  Ugh.  Nothing to take meds for, but I definitely feel...something.

YAY-ness!

ONE MONTH UNTIL HAWAII!  w00t! I cannot wait.

Re: Wednesday!

  • Feeling back to normal today.  I spent last Wed. thru Sunday in Gatlinburg with family, we had a total of 17.  We were on the go the whole time, but lots of fun and really no drama like I expected with so many.  I even met up with a few friends Sunday afternoon before we came home and had lunch at Paula Deens.  A good trip, much needed vacation.  I feel sorry for H though, he had to stay home - he can never get off work around holidays.
  • Yay for the Hawaii countdown! I hated having to go all over the damned place to get an annual/IUD - I hope it's smooth from here!

H is working ass late again this week. Which is great for money, but really hard on him. Hopefully his nice relaxing weekend at his mom's will hold him over for a bit. I was going to try to get away for a long weekend but he told his mom (never mentioned it to me) that he's planning to go back up there next month with his friend to fish. October is packed with Bears games for me so that weekend would have been our only opportunity.

I'm glad it's already Wednesday. I'm hoping to go couch shopping this weekend. Possibly get the TV for the living room so that TV can go in the basement.

  • I cannot get motivated to do anything today.  I have so many things to do that I don't know where I want to start, so doing nothing seems reasonable.

@mrsconn23 will your insurance pay for the new pap since you're not due? When I switched doctors last year, the new doctor wanted to do a new pap but since I already had one that year I just had to get my records from the former doctor for her.

I'm also glad it's already Wednesday. I only slept about 4 hours last night and part of that was on the couch so my back hurts today.

@tawillers I'm in that same situation. I have mail, filing, deposits, and homework I can need to do, but I'm here instead.

    eta - Happy Birthday @MissKittyDanger!!

I'm not sure.  My last one was more than a year ago, but I was told I only need one every 2-3 years since I've never had an abnormal one and don't have any risk factors.

Oh and something else to bitch about...I was so miserable Monday with allergies that I rubbed my nose raw and now it's gross with skin flaking off.  It needs to freaking freeze.  I know that's at least 2 months off, but one can hope...LOL.

Oh, Okay. It'll probably be covered then. Most plans cover one well woman check per year.

If you have some unscented, uncolored lip balm that will do wonders on your nose. Mary Kay used to have one (probably still do) that I loved and was so soothing on my poor nose.
  • This shortened week seems to be messing everyone up :(
I think I have to accept this isn't allergies and I have a cold. Grr ...

We got our fridge last night. French doors, freezer bottom. Lots of space to organize. We get it on Oct 1st - which for those who remember, we move our furniture on Sept 30th. Our fridge/freezer stuff is going to MIL place and we're going to lower the amount as much as possible, but I really wished we would get the fridge before moving furniture :\ Oh well .... it's a fridge I don't have to pay for so I shouldn't complain.

    Side note, I'm 29 today :)

Bolded and/or polysporin. Or if you have access to it {idk where to buy} 'bag balm' is good, usually for cow udders when it's cold out but works great! :)
  • Happy birthday and happy approval, Miss Kitty!

I decided fuck it and ordered our new TV. H will be happily surprised. So if we can get a couch this weekend, our man cave (which is mostly for me) will be functional by week three of the football season.

  • Happy birthday and happy approval @MissKittyDanger! Time to celebrate.

Today sucks. I'm annoyed at everyone because we have pointless meetings, I'm still waiting on software I was promised months ago, and I need it to do my job. Also, it's blazing hot with "real feel" temperature of 100 degrees, I hate it and the humidity. I'm probably being too snarky today, which may explain my comments on the CC potluck thread.
  • Happy Birthday @MissKittyDanger!

Today was my second day working at the barn. I got home almost 90 minutes earlier than yesterday and hope to have it all down to under 3hours here soon. Idk how yet but it is a goal.

Chicago was great. It was the perfect mental health get away. Went to a couple Cubs games, saw some old friends, made some new ones, ate fabulous pizza... Couldn't be more pleased.

After some invitation making drama, I mailed them all last Tuesday and we started getting rsvps yesterday.
  • I am on day 3 of work computer issues. IT is actually on speaker right now. The good news is, they're ordering my new computer. The bad news is, it won't be delivered by drone this afternoon, so I'll have to limp along a bit longer.

Also: day 2 of fucked up school bus issues. Wooz's 6:34 bus arrived at 6:57 yesterday. When it wasn't here by 7:00 this morning, our neighbor volunteered to drive Wooz in with her son. I drove DS in, and at 7:13 we were right behind Wooz's bus leaving our neighborhood. This is also the second day that they're delayed leaving, though fortunately after school picks her up, so it doesn't affect us in the afternoon.

On the plus side, Wooz's evening art class started up again, and she loved it. Swim tonight. Also, my crock pot white chili turned out really well last night, and here's hoping tonight's chicken enchilada soup does, too.
  • Happy birthday and happy closing, @MissKittyDanger!

Well, we had some excitement today. Someone called in a bomb threat, and we had to evacuate the building for an hour. My boss was nice enough to pull up her (air-conditioned) car and let in as many of us as she could fit. (It's in the high 80s here.)

No one was hurt, and no damage done, but still scary.
  • @Heffalump What recipe did you use for your white chili?  I am looking for a good one, and if it is in the crock pot all the better.

Not a bomb threat, thank goodness, but we had a REAL fire evacuation at my workplace a few months ago.  Not just a drill.  Fortunately, it was just smoke from something malfunctioning.

I closed today on an extension for my Home Equity Line of Credit.  Which was great, but now I'm stuck at work for an extra hour to make up the time I took.
