Hi all-

does anyone know how far in advance you are supposed to/ you can apply for a marriage license prior to a wedding in MA?

    I think it's generally 60 days.

    Once you have the liscense issued it is good for 60 days. You must apply in person-together and then wait 3 days after applicatin before it is issued.

    As Marshallra said the license once issued is good for 60 days, and after applying together in person you must wait 3 days before the license is issued.  You (or a family/friend) must give the license to your wedding officiant, like myself, and he/she will mail the license on your behalf to the town/city in which the license was issued from.  Congratulations on your big day!  If you need a wedding minister I could help you out, if you would prefer a J.P. I know several that are very reputable.
