Skylands at Randolph

Anyone have any information, reviews, or experiences with this venue? Looking at a 200 person wedding there. Read on some general websites and magazines they generally book at around $50-$70 per person, but we got quoted $100 per. Does this seem consistant with everyone else, or are the books telling the truth?

The landscape seems nice there, but how is the staff and their attentiveness on the day of?

I went there to look at it. I don't have my notebook with me right now, but when I get home from work I'll see what I wrote down and see if I can find the folder they gave me (I might have actually just recycled it but I'll check).

When are you looking to get married? The inside is beautiful with the grand staircase but I went to look in March for a March 2011 wedding and the outside needed some work from what I saw, but maybe they did some work in the spring.

I think I remember it being a little bit over $100 (including tax & gratuity) for what we were quoted for a March wedding with 200-250 people because if it was under $100 I would have definitely looked past the exterior.

$50-$70 seems really low for Skylands.  I didn't look there but a friend did and was quoted at around $120.

My mom called there when someone at work told her it was affordable and they quoted her $150 pp- from what I can tell, everyone I know who has called has gotten quoted a different (sometimes very different) price on the phone. Maybe going there is best? I dont know- I didnt bother when they quoted $150

Okay I found the folder they gave me.  They have 4 packages you can choose from. The ceremony fee is $600. You pay by dish, so the beef on the cheapest package is $67.50 and the chicken is $62.50. They also note that prices for 2011 is $1 higher and 2012 is $2 higher.

To be honest with you, as much as I loved the inside of the place, I felt like they weren't willing to work with us on bringing down the price. And to me you don't get too much for the price but maybe that's just me.

And for as big of a place it is, I feel like if there is 2 weddings going on that its fairly easy for the 2 to mingle together, even if one is upstairs and the other downstairs.

    Hope this helps.
