  Good luck with that.  I want to dump all of the stuff I've never seen DH wear and start over.  He keeps saying "What if the company that buys us doesn't supply uniforms?!"  For 4 years I've been hearing this. Half the stuff in his closet wouldn't be work wear anyway.

  He would give me crap about it if he noticed. Not in a mean way, just "you have too many shoes if you need to store them in my closet."

  So, not an annexation story per se, but somewhat related: once when I brought home our dry cleaning, I must have forgotten that I had a pair of lightweight wool navy suit pants in the mix - and after I put away what I thought was all of my clothes, I hung up the rest in H's closet. Cut to a week later and we were getting ready for work and H is cursing saying he must be gaining weight rapidly. I went into the bedroom, and he's got a pair of navy pants up to his low thighs and was struggling to pull them up higher. I just started laughing because I realized those must have been my pants. I told him to take them off (and he was kind of mad that I was laughing at him) and sure enough - they were mine! I showed him and he started cracking up and was really relieved that he hadn't gained that much weight that quickly. Even though it was technically my fault that they were in his closet, I still haven't let him forget about the time he tried to wear my dress pants!!

  can you easily get to these shoes or is it more of just the game of seeing how many until he notices and they aren't ones you wear a lot?  Either way cracks me up

  A few months ago I straight up just stole SO's closet. I moved the small portion of his clothes that were left to the closet into the other bedroom he uses every morning to get ready, organized the rest of my stuff, and we've been happy with the outcome. He was even like "we can add another shelf to the top for your shoes." This is why I love him. Haha

  @kvruns - i have a lot of shoes. right now the ones in the closet are ones that i don't wear as frequently. I would say that I have 10-20 pairs of heels that are in fairly regular rotation - but most of these are currently in my car or entryway closet. I haven't counted but would guess that my collection is something like 150ish pairs of heels, 15 or so pairs of flats (including sandals), 5 or so flip flops, and 5-10 athletic/sporty shoes.  
  
  With the recent health issues (especially the vertigo aspect) I've been wearing flats to the office. 
  
  I was able to get them up there, but would probably need a step stool to put more up there or get them down. I'm having fun seeing how much i can fit in there without him noticing/caring.

  My problem would be that I would forget where they were, then when I wanted that pair I'd make a mess of my close looking for them.

  Of course! I'm a born and raised Yinzer! (not really into football or baseball, but I'm a huge Pens fan.) DK is a Flyers fan, so we always say that the biggest point of contention in our marriage is what team we root for.
