  Sounds like she is a popular makeup artist. Have you seen any pictures of her work (i.e. the magazines or other brides photos)? If theirs didn't turn out good, I highly doubt she would be as popular as I am assuming. How did your trial turn out?

  My trial turned out well, but I didn't take photos.  I've seen her editorial work and she has bridals on her website. 
  
  It was just weird to me that she wouldn't know this.  She uses Bare Escentuals mineral veil as a finishing powder, which I use daily bit would never use for wedding photos now that I have that little tidbit of info.  No wonder I always look pale in photos! 
  
  I would hate to have to direct my MUA on the day of.  I would rather just sit back and relax.

  Is it possible for you to have another trial and take a few photos then? I just imagine her work to be good since she does makeup for professional photo shoots as well as other brides. But if you have any worries about her, I would seriously consider another MUA

  Regardless of what type of makeup she uses, you need to take photos. That is the only way you will see that. Honestly, not all MUAs believe that SPF will make you look gray because it doesn't seem to do that to everyone, but to a good chunk of women it does. If the foundation she uses is sold at Sephora or Ulta, why not go in and try some on, then put the mineral veil over it. Then check yourself out in sunlight...the most true light. Also take photos indoors. That can get you an approximation, since you'd only be able to emulate it if you have all of her primers and brushes.

  I am one of those MUA's that does not believe that SPF will ruin your pictures. Case in point: Siggy picture. I am wearing Bare Minerals.
  
  Most photographers (if not all) that I know do not think SPF or mineral makeup is ever an issue as long as they're using the right lighting. Others will disagree. Ultimately, if your photographer tells you not to wear it, it's because their style of photography doesn't work well with that type of product.
  
  Also, if a makeup doesn't have SPF, it probably has Talc, which is also something that people say you shouldn't wear in pictures. I've used both on woman in many different situations (including weddings) with no problems.

  As a makeup artist myself, I have heard the houpla, but don't believe it. I have done dozens of weddings using MAC Studio Fix / and or MAC Pro-long wear (both have SPF) and I use MAC PREP+Prime transulcent powder.  She is the profesional, and I would trust her.

  As a makeup artist, I have heard this and from my experience it depends on the quality of the makeup. At the start of my career, I used inexpensive products - mineral and non mineral, with spf and without spf - and it caused the photos to come out less than ideal.
  
  Now, as I have a few years under my belt and the ability to access higher grade products, I have not had a single issue with any of my mineral based or spf inclusive products.
  
  It's more about the quality of the products than anything else. If you have seen her work and you like it, I would trust her. Makeup artists do not want to do unsatisfactory work - our art, careers and repuations are all on the line.
