I have flown/cruised all over the world. We always buy travel protection because shit happens anytime to anybody. After not needing it 23 times, we had to cancel our trip to Japan just nine days before departure, due to my emergency surgery. Who knew? We got our money back from the insurer. ($11,000+!) Thank goodness we bought it! We use Travel Guard.
Also, if you are leaving the USA, your personal medical coverage may not be good in a foreign country. It won't cover emergency evacuation back to the states.
If you can afford to lose all the money you are spending on your honeymoon, then you don't need the insurance. If this would mean no honeymoon at all for you if it was canceled, then buy it! Peace of mind is worth something, too.
