I was really looking to save some cash on flowers. I came across a blog on using super market flowers to make bouquets. I decided to risk it. Two days before the wedding, I went to Wal-Mart and meijer and picked through their stems. I turned my bedroom air to 65 degrees and stored the flowers until the night before. After the bouquets were made, we kept them cold again until we left for the wedding. They held up through the day wonderfully!
(I ordered my bouteniers from a local grocery. Centerpieces were painted wine bottles that I arranged roses, greens and baby's breath in. Total floral cost for 4 bouquets, 4 courses, 6 bouts, and 15 centerpieces totaled $160, but $90 was bouts and coursages.)
As nerve racking as it was to shop 48 hours in advance and hope it worked, I was very happy with the way it all came out!
