What is going on today/this weekend?

Re: Happy International Women's Day! And it's FRIDAY!

  • HAPPY INT'L WOMEN'S DAY!  WAHOO FRIDAY!

We don't have much going on this weekend.  DH is contemplating painting our bonus room this weekend, but we'll see.

We're keeping my sister's foster son for a few hours tonight.  I need to figure out what to get for dinner.  DefConn's excited.  Foster nephew is very sweet and so much fun.

I'm hoping we can grill this weekend.  I miss grilled food.

I have aaaaallll the lists going. Today both cats go to the vet. Costco for m2s dessert, soccer store for 6lets new shoes (keepers tear up the tops of toes apparently)

Tomorrow am cleaning up for m2s sleepover. Her soccer practice, 6let futsal then 4 girls sleeping over. Sunday lacrosse evals and possible futsal and all the laundry.

Next week is crazycakes- Monday Cincinnati, Tuesday 2 people at the dentist, Wednesday ortho and my doc appointment, Thursday we head to Indy for for the weekend. I need to make sure all of the uniforms and gloves are clean. Keeper mom sucks sometimes.
  • Whoops changed the title to International, not national.

I'm so glad we didn't get the snow or freezing rain predicted. Excited for a warm up this weekend too. Although if I'm honest I really just want to sit on the couch and veg all weekend.

Signed up for delivery notification for a package being sent to my grandparents as it was supposed to be delivered by last night and wasn't. Signed up this morning and I've received 13+ texts in 2 hours that all say "delivery notification request confirmed". Yes USPS you do not have to tell me every 10 minutes that you have confirmed I signed up to receive a delivery notification. It's never been like this before.

  • Happy International Women’s Day!

Work didnt ask me to come in today so I’ll be doing stuff around the house instead. FI has a mandatory work “team building” trip through Sunday that’s really just an excuse for his boss to have a birthday bash as a tax write off. He’s not excited about it. I think I’ll try to surprise FI and recaulk all of our sinks/tub this weekend. Tomorrow FSIL and her FI are coming over and we’re going out for drinks. That should be fun. I also need to get back into a good meal prep routine. I was doing so well with avoiding door dash and then this month hit and I’ve gotten it like five times so far. My wallet and diet plans do not agree with it.

  • Because of International Women's Day, I discovered womxn and I like it, so I'm using it.  It's meant to be an inclusive of all cis, trans, NB femme identities as an umbrella (not to be confused with the TERF usage of womyn:  https://www.dailydot.com/irl/womyn/?fbclid=IwAR302r1hjYPhsjnlYs36NRFWgpZKOIXYo8wPYdC3AhOmWBI1DBpo-Urwn8g

    So, Happy International Womxn's Day!

SSDD.  My ulnar nerve in my right hand has flared so badly that it's aching into my shoulder and down into my pinkie.  It's making typing difficult, so I have no desire to work at all.

I reached out to my BFF of 20 years last night and said I just needed him to call me, please.  He managed to carve an hour out (we work completely opposite schedules), when he really only had 1/2 an hour, to just talk things through with me.  I appreciated it and desperately needed it.  I then went and hung out with some other friends, who knew I needed hugs and and to play pool and eat and didn't push me to talk about anything, but were just there, which I also appreciated and needed.

Relaxing and cleaning this weekend and ready for some down time.

Happy International  Women’s Day everyone! <3

My mom, sisters and I go out to dinner every IWD, we’re actually doing it on Sunday this year (lunch at the restaurant my sister’s shower will be at in a couple of weeks, to get a feel for the vibe on a Sunday afternoon, we’ve only gone for dinner...so the meal is accomplishing two birds with one stone).  Which I’m very much looking forward to.  It’s been a wild week at work and I have quite a list of errands between this evening and tomorrow.

Good luck @sparklepants41 , yes I agree @mrsconn23 grilled is my fave meat.  And yeah that sounds extra @kvruns
  • How was the interview @sparklepants41??

    Congrats to Mr.@6fsn!!
  • Woke up with an awful cold this morning out of nowhere.  Sinus infection coming on for sure and a sore throat.  Thankfully we have no plans this weekend.  Seeing lots of hot tea and Netflix in my future.

Happy IWD to everyone, hope you all have great weekends!

  • Well my day just went to shit. My mom called me to say my dad (who is working nearby) thought he was having a heart attack and to go see him. I don’t know wtf people think I’m going to do. So I called my dad and he wanted to wait until I got there to take him to a hospital. I talked him into calling EMS and they were there when I arrived. Luckily it doesn’t look like an MI on the preliminary EKG. His BP was still emergently high and they suggested he go to the ER, which I agreed with. Not exactly the hospital I’d recommend, but he’s not having an MI so I’m more okay with it. Guess I’m not getting the caulking done today.

Sending healing vibes to your dad @levioosa..sounds so stressful
  • I'm sorry @levioosa. Sending healing vibes to your dad and hugs to you!

Interview went really well! I really like the woman I interviewed with - job would be a dream. I would be the #2 in that department in that company. Only problem is it's not out of their downtown office - it's out of their HQ which is an hour from my house without traffic - 2.5 hours each way with traffic. I'm bummed.
  • Glad the interview went well, but that’s a major bummer, @sparklepants41. Keep plugging away!
  • Levioosa I hope your dad is doing better. How scary. And I will admit I also don't understand why people will call a friend/family member in the medical field or law enforcement instead of first calling 911 for medical or security issues. Call the pros yo!

Sparklepants I'm glad it went well but bummer on the location. Did you know that going into it? Any chance for working remotely or out of the downtown office?

The recruiter had told me the postion would be out of their downtown office. The team I would be managing works out of the HQ (which I found out on Friday), so there is no real chance of working out of the downtown office, unless the whole team moved. I could work from home occasionally, but the nature of my job is such that I need to be in the office in person at least 80% of the time.
