Wedding Woes

It's Friday Eve

And I've already had  good morning, so I'm trying to stay positive for the rest of the day.

I've been really good with my meal planning, but I haven't had time to make my yummy breakfast casserole this week.  So, this morning I went though the McDonald's breakfast line.  After I ordered, i realized I had forgotten my wallet.  So, I pulled to the cashier to tell them that, so I wasn't that person messing up their line.  To find out that the person in front of my had paid for my breakfast.  So, nice human in the silver Honda Accord, THANK YOU for Varuna and her belly!

We've got some stuff going on at home.  K is burnt out (I am not shocked by this fact) and their school requirements have taken a dip.  So, I suggested, and they agreed, to take a leave of absence from derby until the end of the semester to concentrate on school.  I know I sometimes struggle with situational depression and anxiety, but I've never really experienced someone who has to live with depression, anxiety, and a host of other mental struggles.  I keep reassuring them we'll get through this, we have a plan of action, and we're going to do this, but I know it's a day-to-day (and right now even an hour-to-hour) struggle for them.  I'm also proud that they asked for help and recognized the issue so that they could get help before they completely bombed everything.

Other than that, SSDD.  I've started a running group and we're about to finish our first week together.  I HATE running, but I needed something.  Once this program is finished, K and I are seriously considering getting a rowing machine.

Re: It's Friday Eve

  • Oh how nice, Honda! I am always impressed with how well you and K are able to identify an issue and take action to correct it with your stress levels and mental health. It's SO HARD to be able to notice and address a breakdown before it spirals and I'm really struggling with that right now too. I hope the break from derby helps her get back on her mental feet.

We're not having the garage sale we planned on this weekend. We're still arguing with Buyer about money and I don't want to get rid of everything we own before an appraisal or, god forbid we have to go back on the market.

But H and I both took the day off for the garage sale and we're both keeping it off. We've still got a lot to do around the house and if H wants to sell his bike, he's gotta get it running ASAP. My sister and I are going to the Hawks game tomorrow night, which will be fun. Our last sporting event together! :(

  • Wow @ShesSoCold last game! I think I missed this but you do and H have a place lined up to move into? You’re going to MT right?

Yay Varuna for the universe getting you breakfast. Love when those things happen.

Im still sick but I think Im finally on the upswing. This cold has really kicked my ass. I haven’t run at all this week and I just feel out of it. I’m so ready for the weekend.

Has as anyone else watched the Netflix documentary on the disappearance of Madeline McCann?
  • Oh wow.  I never heard of the pay it forward at McDonalds.  Just Starbucks.  Nice surprise! @VarunaTT I JUST paid off my monthly loan on my water rower and it was STILL a good decision on my part.  I mean I only do it 10 min a day (it does get boring) and I’m probably doing it wrong, but I do feel stronger since starting it.
@climbingwife  have an awesome painless day
@shessocold, sucks about the back and forth.  Hopefully it all pans out.  have fun at the hawks game!

i finally got my order of coffee I placed last week from a facebook ad (they always get me.  Want to sell something?  Post an ad on facebook) Its flavored and I’m hoping a switch from reg coffee with tons of sugar free syrup to flavored coffee with very little sweetener is better for me since I really started to pay attention to the amount of torani sugar free syrup I’ve been using.

I watched the first episode. That was pretty much all I could get through.

I’m on episode 6 and it’s heartbreaking! I don’t know if I’ll get through the rest though; I have a hard tone with unsolved true crime documentaries or podcasts.
  • I don’t know if I could watch that either.  But I probably will.  Right now I’m caught up in the Timmothy Pitzen case.  The disappearance story is crazy!

I was in England when it happened and feel like I heard enough about it for a lifetime.
  • @VarunaTT, wow!  Talk about the perfect day to have something unusual like that happen.  I hope K starts feeling better and their anxiety reduces.

@climbingwife, I'm glad to hear you finally have a pain free day!  It does sound like the chiro visits have been working out great.

@ShesSoCold, continued good luck on working things out with the buyer.  I FINALLY got word from my seller that they are saying "no" to the counteroffer.  Didn't counter anything back, just a "no".  Which is fine and what I initially expected, except it's really irritating they took six whole days only to say no.  Oh well, moving on.

@charlotte989875, glad you are finally taking a turn for the better!

@CharmedPam, hope you like your new flavored coffee!  Though no one takes away my Torani sugar-free syrup.  I love that stuff, lol.  I'll even put some of their fruit-flavored ones into club soda.

Today's the big interview day!  Although it made sense at the time to schedule it toward the end of my work day, now I'm going to be fretting about it for hours, lol.  I'm focusing on thinking positive, but I'm the kind of person who always has "worst case" scenarios that run through my mind.  Fumbling over my words or rambling.  Asking me a question I don't have a good answer for or I answer wrong, so they think I have no idea what I'm talking about.  I know I need to stop being paranoid, lol.

@eileenrob, you gave me the nicest compliment yesterday!  Thank you so much for that.  It was a confidence booster.
Good luck today!! You’re going to be great!!
  • @short+sassy good luck! You got this. Don't psyche yourself out.

    Good luck @short+sassy

im trying to finish up m2s room so I can start putting things back. I need to fold laundry too.

    Game and pto tonight.
  • @short+sassy Old school Knottie purple shirt vibes!!!
  • Good luck S+S.

I'm already tired.  I had to wake up early for therapy.  I'm ready for a nap. I found jean shorts I don't hate at Target this morning after my appt.  :D

DH is about to go get FIL from the airport.  His dog has been great, but keeping her every once in awhile reminds us why we're happy being a dog-free house.  ;)

The back and forth would drive me crazy @ShesSoCold..yay for feeling better @climbingwife, back or neck pain completely takes over my life when I have it.  Continued healing vibes to you @charlotte989875 and also to K @VarunaTT

@short+sassy I really meant it!  Good luck later!  Ugh about the timing, I like interviews bright and early if I can help it.  Although I heard somewhere that if there are several candidates, you don't want to be the first interview...towards the end is apparently a better spot.
Work has been busy.  I've been sending out a lot of resumes, I'm happy enough but ready for a change.
  • Good luck S&S!!

I hope I can go to bed early tonight. I am SO TIRED today. I'm having a hard time sleeping lately. Last night I was up from like 2-4 trying to remember the names of all the Duggar kids. Why TF did I care about that?

  • A dear friend is having an art show tonight and this is the first time I've been in a financial position to afford her pieces (and I LOVE her artwork, she is amazing) so I'm excited to buy myself something beautiful and frivolous and know that money goes straight into my friend's pocket. Win!
Oooh I want to see her work!

I will post a pic of what I decide to buy tomorrow.  This woman does everything.  Watercolors, charcoal, etching, 3D paper sculptures, screen printing and on and on.

We're seriously looking at the Nordictrack rower model that comes with the massive tablet attached.  I don't want a water one, b/c I want to be able to move it out of the way in the area we have.  And, for better or for worse, I do much better when I have something to watch and entertain me.  This comes with a membership to an app that has actual rowing videos, in addition to many different training levels to watch with it, which I think I'll love.  I didn't find man similar apps and we no longer have a tablet, so the cost different in setting up our own stuffs on a rower w/no provided attachments is actually more than just putting out for it in the first place.  It seems to review as well as the other price comparable models, from what I can find.  And it has cross training classes that I think will keep K happy, since they're in...well, let's just say much better shape than I am.  :D

I think I looked up what your eyeing and me likey!  My water one is “supposed” to stand up and tuck in a corner but I actually got mine refurbished and they used another track so it stays put.  Sometimes the seat gets stuck.  But I paid 1/3 of a new one and it’s doing the trick so i don’t really mind.  It DOES get repetitive and boring so yeah - you’ll want the distraction.

update on the Timmothy Pitzen case.  Is this just local news or national?  I only have local news on my feed... lol.  Anyway DNA results point to it not being the 14 year old teen.  It’s a 23 year old!  How was that not realized immediately?

No kidding! I don't know many 23 year old guys that could pass for 14!
