Wedding Party

Rules about gifts for someone standing in for my father...

I'm an older bride, and my father has passed.  My cousin is going to stand in for him at my wedding in October.  I know I have to get the flower girl and my matron of honor gifts.  Should I also get my cousin one?  He is fairly well off, and I am relatively poor.  I know he won't hold anything against me.  He's the nicest person on the planet (seriously, he is).  But I'd like to do this right if I can... so is there a rule about this?

  • I'm sorry for your loss.

I've never heard of giving a gift for this role. What if you just wrote out a thoughtful and heartfelt message in a card? I bet that would mean a lot.
  • I agree with PP's that a heartfelt note of thanks would be very much appreciated and more than enough.
