Restoring Friday?

Good luck to Charlotte for her run this weekend!

Anyone else have something fun going on?

I had perfect timing coming home yesterday!  I made every single light on the way home and was there in less than 15 minutes!  I also had the perfect timing of missing DDs TMI poop blow-out of the car seat.  Poor H got her all cleaned up with wipes and a new outfit, but she still smelled!  So tubby time was right away.  I got home just as the washer was spinning the car seat cover and DD was in the high chair eating a snack while H started dinner.  So I jumped in to help with dinner.  Somehow, we still got to sit down for dinner by 6.  But Hs night just kept going down hill.  Just as he sat down to eat, he knocked over his soda (which he did the night before too!), this one was so big, it went in between the crack of the table and onto Hs pants.  Then later, when H stood up to bring Olive inside, he dropped his Easter egg on the floor!  It just wasn't his night, until I made it a good night for him!  ;)

Not much going on this weekend.  Just relaxing and doing some chores around the house.

Re: Restoring Friday?

  • I apologize in advance for being a Negative Nelly. I've had the week from hell. Work is insane, on top of trying to interview candidates for a new position on my team. My H went skiing AGAIN (he's coming home today). And on top of all of that, my mother decided to tell me that my "body is too big" because I now have more muscle definition since I've been lifting. It was a hurtful conversation that left me in tears.

So yeah. Looking forward to going home and doing nothing.
  • Climbing - I'm sorry about that convo with your mom.  That must have been very hurtful.  Just focus on you feeling healthy and strong doing your lift routine over what your mom thinks.  ::Hugs::

I'm so sorry @climbingwife.  I've been having a similar struggle with my MIL and sMIL telling me I "need to eat"
  • Ugh, i'm sorry @climbingwife that's awful of your mom.

  • That sucks Climbingwife. Why do people make comments like that?!?!

AFM my H is pissed off so that ruined last night and he'll be crappy all day today today. In theory tomorrow will be back to normal but I just hope it doesn't somehow impact my plans with friends tomorrow.

Worked from home the last 2 days and came back and my monitors were all messed up. Someone must have used my desk while i was out (that's ok - we're under construction so space is limited) but don't mess with someone's monitors! One was up and one was down it was weird.
  • ClimbingWife, that sucks.  I am so sorry.

6, boo to a bad week.  Your Aldi run cracks me up because I would do that.

I stayed up far too late last night and then the fucking Colts traded their 1st round pick at the last second.  So no TV time for DH and our friend.  Also, DH has to report to the draft before DefConn gets off the bus and it's over after he goes to bed.  DefConn is struggling with not being able to talk to DH.  (I mean, we could call...but I don't think we'd hear him or vice versa.)

I have to work tomorrow.  DH will be back midday. I just picked up DefConn's new glasses.  He's going to be so stoked.

His school carnival is tonight and I am not interested in going at all.  It's loud, crowded, I'll be alone.  I don't know enough other parents/moms.  I feel like such a crappy mom for not wanting to go, but last year was painful (I was in the same situation).  Ugh.

Sunday will be grocery shopping and not much else.

So glad half the day is over already.  I had a bad start.  Didnt even notice my shirt was inside out till I saw myself in the mirrored elevator.  Oops.  Then I went to make coffee and heard a snap. Thought I broke the office kureg.  Nope.  I think I just broke my reusable kcup, and I have tons more so no biggie.

i’m in @kvruns camp. I had planned a cool getaway to Michigan his weekend.  But then H and I had a spat and wont see each other till late tonight and now I’m not sure we’ll be in the mood to go.  We’ll see.

@climbingwife sorry your Mom said that.  Set it aside.  Your healthy and weight lifting is great for your body.
I’ll take some of that cheese and champaign @6fsn!

That is ANAZING conn!! The pouty bride picture is cracking me up

see if you can talk DefConn into ice cream or something else tonight. We totally do that
  • MrsConn is that him in the whole get up???
  • I’m so sorry @climbingwife that was so unkind and unfair of her to say.

    Good luck this weekend! @charlotte989875

Last night I was able to finish my test for work and I passed it, so I feel a little more relaxed now. I have a second dumb class to take for work today. The silver lining is that it’s easy, zero stress, won’t take more than a few hours, and I do get paid for the time. But I’m annoyed I have to take it at all and commute. It definitely feels like the organization just wants to make money. There’s an advanced class that is this class plus more advanced techniques. If you pass that (which I have), you should be able to get this certification automatically. But unfortunately that’s not how it works. I’m also still sick so going somewhere feels daunting. I’m debating urgent care. I do feel a little better but I have a deep cough that’s developing. If it’s just bronchitis I won’t be able to get antibiotics anyways.

This weekend we are supposed to do brunch and our old hometown’s local fair on Sunday with FI’s family. Fingers crossed I’ll be well before then.

  • Happy Friday!

I'm laughing at the email correspondence that I am seeing with a customer.   I've advised that I can get what they need scheduled once they send me a PO.   Upper management in this not small company can't figure out how to get me a PO.   Now normally this wouldn't be a big deal.   But 3 months down the road they'd be past due and saying, "You know we can't remit payment without a PO so please don't enter orders without them."

How many executives does it take to use a computer??

On the personal front we have to work on Chiquita's science fair project this weekend but first tonight, we decided that we'll take her to the Dr for a prophylactic dose of an antibiotic in the hopes that this prevents Lyme disease.

I think I will need a prophylactic dose of red wine.
  • MrsConn - That's awesome!  I love the caption under his pic, due to the subject matter of the article!

I know.  The caption cracked me up.

The article reads like it's from the Onion.
  • Nothing much on the agenda.  Grocery shopping, apartment cleaning, and costume designing.  K has taken a tipping only spot in a show in a few weeks, b/c it's with a special guest star who is one of the biggest drag king names in the business, so we want to make a hella good impression.

I just need to get through the last few hours of work.  I'm not slammed per se, but I have a lot on my desk that I just need to get through.
  • Thanks all for the kind words. <3
  • @climbingwife I'm so sorry your mom made those comments. You should be proud of the gains that you've made and taking care of your health.

@mrsconn23 That is so freaking awesome! I was also going to say that the whole article reads like satire lol.

    @levioosa Feel better!

@kvruns & @CharmedPam Fingers crossed for you that your Hs get over their bad attitudes and don't ruin your weekend.

Not much going on for H and I. Lots of running, watching people run (his aunt is running an 18 mile race tomorrow and a bunch of family is going to cheer her on) and pouting about the 1-3 inches of snow that we're getting on Sunday.

Perfect timing @OliveOilsMom!  Ugh sorry about that convo @climbingwife, and about your rough week @6fsn.  And boo cranky H's @kvruns and @CharmedPam, my H gets in funks sometimes, it's the worst.  Good luck @charlotte989875

For the last day of break the kids and I went to one of the local Children's Museums theaters for an adorable musical based on several of their favorite books (The Elephant & Piggie series by Mo Willems).  It's pouring today so it was the perfect day for it.  Weekend will be getting ready for back to school and work...kind of wish my school returned on Tues so I could have a relaxation day :D
  • Forgot to say good luck @charlotte989875!!!

    @mrsconn23, so cool!

Though a lot of whininess in the article from bachelorette groups, lol.  Which may have just been the slant from the article, so they purposely looked for whiny groups.  But, yes, when one is planning a trip to a major city.  Especially a city known for entertainment and/or conventions.  It would behoove one to do a 30-second Google search and see what else is happening that week.

  • Thanks everyone for all the good thoughts!!! It was a really tough race despite the conditions being amazing. I’m really disappointed but there will be more races.
