it was a hot hot weekend. Had a fantastic time with my family. We rented a pontoon boat and went swimming on the lake. H and I booked a honeymoon suite at a b&b we always wanted to try out. VERY nice but now it’s ramen all this month 😂.

Today I woke up right on time for my 5:30 group training class. I really thought I’d be OK since I work out every day. Oh wait - walking on a treadmill is different from having a personal trainer What? I’m gonna hurt tomorrow. I know this because I’m hurting now!

I also start primal/paleo today. Wish me luck. I’m going to need it.

I feel EXACTLY the same way. It's like a panic of "Oh shit, what the hell do I wear?". This morning it was 50 degrees, and the high is 70. Meanwhile, the AC is already blasting in my office and I'm frozen.

I actually organized my closets this weekend and moved out all my winter clothes finally. So it will be organized for probably just this week until I start throwing shit all over the place.

Had such a nice, relaxing weekend. Got my nails done, played with the dogs, caught up on my shows. I wish every weekend could be like that.

ETA: I went to the gym, and apparently they discontinued towel service. WTF.

The river definitely beat me up on this float trip. We had to take the raft under the "low water bridge" by jumping out and swimming it across. We got stuck on a log, so I had to jump out and push us off and then get pulled back in. Then my drunk butt tumbled down the stairs of the bus. But, it was all fun and no sunburns, plus a unicorn float.

We saw Rocketman. It is so beautiful. It is more in the style of Across the Universe, than Bohemian Rhapsody. So, instead of the songs being a part of the timeline story, it's more "this songs fits into this piece of the story" and is more musical theatre at points than anything else. I need the theatre to do a sing along version, b/c I was bouncing in my seat, trying not to sing. I bawled not even five minutes in, b/c they had the most brilliant homage to "I Want Love," which is my favorite Elton John song and video. The costumes are gorgeous and I hope the designer wins an Oscar. I discovered that I didn't know The Who's Tommy was an album before a musical, and Kelsey didn't know that Tommy was a musical, just the album. My favorite part though has to be the relationship between Elton and Bernie. It was so loving and so caring and for once, a relationship between a gay man and a straight man didn't have an unrequited flame from the gay man for the straight man.

Overall, a good weekend.

Summer dressing is weird! And I WFH and can do it casually but I'm super pale and want to be comfy but also not look like I am trying too hard when I'm out with the kids. Today it's jeans and a t shirt and Birks.

I had to take Chiquita out for summer clothes on Saturday. Between stuff going on and the heat she needed a wardrobe refresher. We hit the outlets and my Amex has been pounded.

I'm now following the story of the missing mom from my state who is estranged from her H, has 5 kids and the H and his GF were just arrested over the weekend.

Saturday we did errands. She did not nap, so we gave up and went out.
Bubbles after dinner, then bath.

Sunday we did bday gifts at my BFF's {who made the cupcakes} and her hubby showed BabyKitten how to cake smash lmfao It was a mess but great
I just wanted to nap, but she napped in the car

She was quiet for a bit in her crib, but not for long.

I've started making to do lists for the week, that way we don't miss things we need to do. We'll see how it works. Maybe I can integrate it at work, but not entirely sure how - because typically I know plan out what I have to do as it hits my desk ....

Tonight we have to move things around from the basement and through the front door area. Friend of mine is taking our old futon, so we need to ensure it can get out of our house. It'll give a fair space in our basement at least.

I think we'll be doing a donation drop soon. Our pile is getting pretty big, so that will help.

The weekend was not long enough. We were insanely busy and did all the things.

I popped DH's IKEA cherry. Our IKEA did have the pride bags and I was so excited (the cashier said they expected to sellout yesterday). I got one for my house and one for my sister. We bought new mattresses on the last day of their mattress sale (IKEA has some of the best mattress prices and ratings) and then other odds and ends. We also had lunch there because Swedish meatballs are the shit. I'm glad it's a project to get to IKEA for us because I would spend all the money there.

FIL sold his house Saturday. There was a bidding war on it and it sold in less than 48 hours for over asking. I can't wait to get him settled in his new place because he's going to be at HAM until then. He needs contractors, movers, and all sorts of other stuff during this process and I know we're going to have to help him through it as this is the first time he's moved in over 35 years.

Friday I met my friend for dinner. It was much needed for both of us. Saturday, the kiddo packed up and headed east to VA. He made it safe and sound. We did more mulching around our yard Saturday afternoon/evening. After we got back from IKEA yesterday, I cleaned and organized DefConn's room with his help and got his new bed set up. I then cleaned out/up the kiddo's old room and brought the new mattress in for his room. We had dinner at my mom's yesterday and my sisters and their families were there as well. The kids had such a blast.

Weekend was good! Friday we stayed in and it was glorious; BCBC and Chinese food= the best Friday night.

Saturday I went to a lovely mid-day wedding with amazing cupcakes. Instead of a “sermon” the couple had written what they loved about one another & it was supposed to be used by the minister to inform the sermon they give but instead they just read their lists to one another. It was beautiful. The grooms daughter also did a reading by Charlotte Bronte that as lovely. I love weddings that really feel like the couple instead of just a set service.

Yesterday I did a Girls on the arum 5k with my niece and some other stuff around the house. Quiet and relaxing!

I got some errands done over the weekend, including a major grocery shopping trip, but primarily lounged around. I should have done more picking up. We bought a couch on Amazon about a week ago and it is being delivered this Friday. Need to have a big, wide clear path to move the old couch out and the new couch in. Plus a recliner needs to be moved out of the way that is currently being used as more of a coat/clothes rack, lol.

On Sun., my H and I did a mystery shop at a coffee place that is walking distance to our house. They have a really nice outdoor seating area so we brought the puppers with us. She loves it there because it means she goes on a walk. Plus she loves people and there are always a few suckers that walk by and give her pets and attention, lol. In fact, we can't say the word "coffee" in our house. We have to spell it, just like we do the word "walk". Because she has learned to associate "coffee" with going on a walk to the coffee house, lol.

It will be another overwhelming week (sigh). Maybe I will finally get a little bit of a reprieve next week.

Update on the late-paying tenant I was complaining about last week, who wanted to pay her rent today (10 days late). After I talked to her, she paid the majority of the rent the next day (last week) and the remainder on Friday. I was especially surprised about Friday because I'd given her the okay to pay the remaining rent today. But, yay, now I don't have to worry about it. At least not for another week when her next installment is due. But I already expressed a concern about that since she was so late this month and she assured me she was all straight for June (hopefully).

I'm still in Disney recovery mode. Saturday I did groceries while kids went to tryouts. Then DH took Max to tball and I took the others to my niece's graduation party. I am so stinking proud of her. Her valedictory speech was amazing, she had almost a paragraph in the program with her awards and scholarships, and she had an amazing essay on transformation. The kid is destined for great stuff.

While at the party M2 and Max got their soccer offers. Tryout volunteers said we probably wouldn't hear anything until Monday. Apparently the coaches felt otherwise:)

Sunday was church, a bunch of food prep to get through a few days, and then futsal practice. DH did a bunch of yard work.

I have a report due on the first working day of every month. 615 this morning the client emailed to ask where it was. 11:30 they emailed again to see if it was ready. WTF? I was working on it, but their plans changed and I needed to wade through thousands of lines of costs. I had it in their grubby little paws at 11:49. Oh, and M2 had all the signs of strep so we had to go to the doctor in there.

Now to eat lunch and start folding that mountain of laundry.

Happy Meteorological Summer! It was a beautiful weekend here. Highs in the upper 70's and low humidity - perfect.

Saturday we ran errands, we bought a new toaster and I got groceries.

Sunday DH woke up with a migraine. I went to church and then brunch with my Mom. On the way to church I had to drive through some road kill deer remains and I wasn't sure how much got on the underside of the car. So got the car washed after brunch. It was just too nice to be indoors so I cleaned out the garage and wiped down the inside of the car. Deep cleaned the bathroom and then made scalloped potatoes with ham for supper - yum!

Back at work today. Haircut tonight and not much else.

Every year when it starts to get hot I look in my closet and think, “wtf do I have to wear?” And suddenly I hate all of the clothes I have. It doesn’t help that summer is my least favorite season. It’s too damn hot.

I worked all weekend. Yesterday I woke up at three am stressing about a situation at work from the day before. I should have just called to check but instead I worried about it and couldn’t go back to sleep. So yesterday was a long rough day. I decided at the end of it that I deserved a glass of wine and delivery. Today I plan on recovering.

Hee! He made it 40 years. I took DefConn before I got him there (we went to the one in Cincy with SIL before there was one here).

My first ever trip to IKEA was when I was about DefConn's age and we were visiting my grandparents when they lived in Pittsburgh.

He liked it OK (loved the balls, lol), but was basically all, "Unless we have a purpose to go to IKEA, I'm not interested in going to meander."

BUT I may have him talked into getting our sink and counters from there when we redo our kitchen one day. Their farmhouse sinks are only $200 and I'm obsessed with farmhouse sinks. He wants to start with trying to redo our hall bath this fall.

I just went up to get a sweatshirt and to lay on the new mattress in the kiddo's room. DH and I may have separate beds before we know it. LMAO It's so comfy.

I feel it might be a guy thing. I could seriously wander ikea. Plan things. Maybe not buy that stuff, but definitely get ideas for decorating. Layouts etc. M hates doing that. He'll go to cheer me up, but he's more "let's go and get it and get out" {mostly because he has stuff to build lmfao}

Ikea here will wash your car and clean the interior. With your family card, it is about 8$. So sometimes my friends and I will go just to get the car cleaned and have a coffee or ice cream, lol.
