Wedding Woes

Tuesday

Well, when I usually go ahead and do this, soeone else will have started on.

I hate Tuesdays, but I'm taking myself to see John Wick 3 tonight, so maybe this can start a "Varuna doesn't have to hate Tuesdays" theme in my life.  Work is SSDD.  K is out of town this weekend, so I'm seriously considering cleaning out the storage unit and really organizing everything that is going to go to donation/sale and start moving on that.  I'm tired of the apartment looking like a mess.

Re: Tuesday

  • I'm already over this week. Whenever it rains, my commute doubles in time. And it will be raining for the rest of the week. I'm miserable.
  • Ditto on this Tuesday blowing.  I made a huge huge stir fry dish last night and H came home.  He’s really not a big eater but just asked me if I was going to want more of it.  I’m shocked he could even eat half of it!  A
friend wants to do dinner tonight so I may give up my half of the stir fry then - she wants to meet at panera and tbh I don’t like it there 😞 I’ll order a soup and a cold brew but then eat later.

  • Fingers crossed @charlotte989875! Not much going on today. I have a stretch session this afternoon. I always schedule one after being with the grand twins because I'm so tight from being down on the floor without any back support. DD did buy a couple of poufs which are very helpful to lean against.

a Day long interview? wow! Good luck!!
  • ILoveBeachMusic what kind of poufs? I might want to get some too, I am forever on the ground with my kids.
  • Yesterday was FML Monday, so today has to be better.

Not only did DH's suitcase get ruined (which I did a pick-up order for him and he has his shiny new one now), but I found out that what I thought was going to be 1 day of in-office training is now going to be WEEKS.  We've known this training was coming, but it was never presented as being in the office for more than the initial training session.

So, now I'm in a scramble to cover care for DefConn.  I am lucky my parents live down the street from my office, where my dad works from home a few days a week and my mom gets one week day off usually. My younger sister is a teacher and off for the summer, plus my BIL (older sis's H) is staying home with my nephews after working for a school system last school year and doesn't have a new job yet. Plus, DH can talk to his boss about working from home a few days to bridge any gaps.  AND we have a SAHM friend that we may ask to help us in an extreme pinch.

But the lack of advance information from work is really sticking in my craw. I looked at day camps through our parks, but they're full up. Worst case, it looks like the local Y may have slots at their day camps and we can pick up one or two days if necessary.

No one on my team is happy about this (all of us except one person are WAH), but none of them have kids as young as DefConn.  I also canceled my vacation day Monday so I can be trained with all of my team at the same time since my boss will be out the following week and we're not leaving town (BIL/SIL/nieces will be staying here).  It will all work out, but the logistical headache in the mean time is just that.  Plus the extra layer of DH being OOT this week adds to my anxiety about it all.

In better news, the new shower curtain came today and it's so pretty.  Our   bathroom project is almost complete.  :D I can't wait to see it all come together.

My younger sis is coming over tonight with her foster son to have dinner with us.  I was so tired yesterday that I got jack shit done, so I'm hoping to plug away at some stuff tonight around the house.
  • It is muggy out and overcast with spotty showers here.  Overall, it is gross out.  I still took the dogs for their walk and Olive was not keeping up very well.  I may need to give her a few days off from our walks per week.  She is 11 after all.

We gave up the ghost and turned the central A/C on today too, mostly for Olive.  We have a giant maple tree in the back yard that keeps the house pretty cool, we do have a fan we use in the family room and kitchen.  But we have been lucky and able to keep the central A/C off longer than our neighbors due to this tree.  We use box units for our bedrooms, so we have just been using the fan or AC function on those as needed at night for the last month.  We still use the box units when the central AC is on, until we get the house zoned, this actually helps keep our electric bill in check a bit.

Tonight we are meeting with our siding company to go over and sign the contract.  We owe him a portion of our down payment, since we are still in the underwriting process.  We also finally settled on colors, which was much harder than we thought!  It's a one-time permanent decision!

What colors are you considering? I love the look of navy siding!

I love the look of navy too, but H thought it was too dark!  Our compromise is a medium gray siding, with navy shutters and white trim.  We won't be able to cover the existing brick, so that put a big wrinkle in our color choices too, since we had to make sure everything would go together!  I don't think I ever paid attention to what color combos were on houses until we started thinking about this project!

If TK will let me, I will show some before and after pics when it is done, which may not be until August potentially.  The company has to order the siding and then get put onto their schedule.  I just want the whole thing done now!!!!

Dh and I went to a concert Sunday (it was awesome!). My mil has had the kids since then. She keeps saying “I hope you’re enjoying your time off!”  Wtf? I’m still working, cooking, cleaning, and doing life.

Today’s checklist includes getting things worked out for 6lets tryouts. He has a 630 call time at one location, but 7 am registration at another location?  I don’t have a clue where any of this stuff is either.

From what I see of the VRBO listing, we're staying near the Ozark Yacht Club/Jennings Branch Cove area?  Ridge Golf Club is near to the property. IDK if that helps at all, LOL.  ;)

I can probably be convinced to drive to the lake, depending on the timeframe.  Let me know when you have more info.  I feel like there's a winetrail out that way I like, as well as a state park I've been intending to visit anyway.
  • Good vibes for your H @charlotte989875!

That sucks about your work @mrsconn23

Yesterday we took my Dad out to dinner to celebrate Father’s Day. It was alright, but then we ended up going back to their house to help set up his new computer which pushed us back later than we anticipated.

I went to the dentist yesterday because I have a tooth that has been bothering me for a month. Turns out that tooth is fucking fine, but I have to cavities in teeth that don’t even hurt on the opposite side of my mouth. I’m so upset. I’ve never had a cavity before and now I have two. And no answer for the tooth that actually hurts. The dentist asked me if I had changed my diet recently and I was like, “um, I’ve cut down on sugar and carbs” and she was all I don’t know what to tell you then. Ugh.

Studying today, then gym. Although all I want to do is relax because yesterday was a whirlwind of activity and not at all the rest day I had planned.

  • Fingers crossed for your H, @charlotte989875!

So far, it’s been a decent day. Just busy enough, and I’ve been listening to the Grateful Dead and Phish to keep my mood up. Meeting tonight.

One is an indoor/outdoor one that I think she got from Target. She probably got the other one from Target too. The indoor/outdoor one is stiffer. She plans on using them both for extra seating/tables but right now the boys are using them to stand up. She also using the indoor one as a blocking object to keep them from stuff she doesn't want to touch. LOL that isn't going to last long!
  • Words cannot adequately describe how much I hate my lender right now.  I was expecting around lunch today to get the perfunctory "loan final approval complete, proceed to closing" message from my broker.

Instead, the lender came back and want me to "prove" my rehab experience with providing receipts.  Keep in mind, part of my loan application was a complete and detailed dossier of all my previous rehab projects, including the numbers and analyses.  The loan has already been through underwriting.  The "final" is really supposed to be a double check to make sure nothing got forgotten and a rubber stamp.

NOBODY has wanted this.  Until now.  It would have been a big enough PITA two weeks ago, but to pull this after I've already been given conditional approval and the day before when closing was supposed to happen is BULLS**T!  My broker and I are both super PO'ed.  He told me he was arguing with them all morning and trying to talk them out of it before breaking the news to me.

Awesome.  So I'll be spending hours getting all that together tonight.  But I'll have it done and send it to my broker so he can get it to them by tomorrow morning.  The expectation is they will review it on Wed. and we'll finally have everything okayed by Thurs.  But now I'm getting super nervous.  Because, every time I think I'm done, they pull some other crap they want.

So now we've pushed closing out to Friday, smh.

Sorry about all you're dealing with @short+sassy , ouch that sounds like a headache @mrsconn23 and good luck to your H @charlotte989875

Had my oldest's stepping up ceremony at 9, then dashed to the twins' in-class bday celebration (shared with the other summer birthdays), then to my school to proctor a Regents exam at 1.  Stayed at work from 4-almost 7 reviewing summer school schedules, final grades, etc.  Tomorrow is my last day before summer vacation :) it's been pouring all week and that's what the forecast holds for the next several days but I'm clinging to the summer vacation high.
  • @short+sassy  time to smack a bitch lol
