Happy Birthday and happy last day of work!! What is your due date again?
  • Happy birthday and last day of work! What a way to celebrate the beginning of your leave!

Yaaay!!  Happy birthday and enjoy your last bit of time before baby!!  I hope labor/delivery/recovery goes smoothly for you, H, and baby.

IL's are with the babe today.  I don't actually have a lot to do but I came to the office anyway because 1) there is no one here and 2) i get alone time.  I'm very excited to eat lunch alone!!
  • Happy birthday!

I'm glad it's the weekend.  I set a goal to get 3 things finished today.  I'm about to finish the last two and then I'm not sure I get much of anything done today.  I'm in a really bad headspace and I'm just so fundamentally tired of people.  The last few years my social circle has really just blown up and I'm still dealing with the repercussions and I'm tired of it.  There's more to it than that, but I could really use a vacation.  I think I'm going to social media isolate for awhile, it might be helpful.

Other than that, SSDD.  I'm going to try and watch the new Psych 2 movie, b/c I love that show.
  • @charlotte989875, Happy birthday!  AND the last day of work before your maternity leave.  That's awesome timing!

I have a mystery shop to do today.  It has a bonus, so it's really high-paying for the time involved.  $70 to open a checking account at a nearby bank.  It is a PITA to open an account I don't need, which is also part of why the fee is high.  But I can close it after a couple months.  Plus some other errands to run today.

I've been extra upset lately about the course the pandemic is taking.  Like a lot of areas, Louisiana was doing so well and making great improvements.  However, now we are on a downhill slide.  Many of our hospitals are overwhelmed.  Our governor had a press conference earlier in the week, warning that we are headed for another shutdown if things don't turn around.  And pleading, pleading, pleading with people to wear masks when in public and social distance.  Because that is the only we can stop a shutdown from happening.

Except none of this is news.  None of this is information people don't already know, but are ignoring anyway.  For reasons I cannot possibly fathom.

Everyone is worried about the economy...even if they aren't worried about the health of the community in their selfishness (eyeroll)...yet, STILL can't be bothered to do what they can to stop/slow the spread so we can continue to open things back up, instead of going backwards.

Thanks for letting me vent, you all.  I'll get off my Debbie Downer soapbox now.  It's just so depressing and frustrating.
Yup. Turns out when us in the NE were like indoor dining and casinos is insane what is wrong with you people we were right.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!  What a way to celebrate!!

I listened to Taylor Swift's new album this morning as soon as I woke up.  It's OK. I think I still love Reputation the most of her last 3 albums.  That was also an amazing live show.

I hate when people say they want a call and then don't.answer.the.friggin'.phone.   Especially when they just responded to my email asking for a call OR they give me a window to call them.

This weekend will be low-key. Not much tonight, dinner with my family tomorrow, boating Sunday.

Indy just rolled back things.  Bars are closing again.  The mayor call for no in-person instruction in the city until Aug. 5th and could go later.  We're outside Indy, so it doesn't apply to us.

DefConn's supposed to start in 6 damn days, in person.  He's slated to go to school, but DH and I are reevaluating.  We are both feeling damned if we do and damned if we don't about it.  Our school corporation is clicking along like normal.

The governor is taking heat from his own Atty. General (who is an accused sexual harasser/assaulter) and he's trying to say the governor's mask mandate is 'unconstitutional'.  I'm curious to see what today's numbers are.  I feel like I heard if we're at 10% test positive rate that the state health director will mandate closing schools.  We're definitely up there.  The office pushed back reopening again and one of the reasons cited was the school timelines changing and all over the place, along with the increasing infection rates.  I ordered more masks today. I feel like I will never not be tired.
  • @charlotte989875 So close to meeting him! I am so excited for you!

Exactly me and Chicago vs Chicagoland.  Chicago is shutting down but I’m from the ‘burbs.

Happy Birthday @charlotte989875 and congrats on making it to your last work day for a while.
@cupcait927, sorry your day was like that.  But it sounds like the ending was good.

Last night I tried my hand at sugaring the nether regions, after our discussion from the Prudie letter. I’m not sure why I thought I could do that.  It’s sticky, messy AND hurty.  And the consistency seemed to be spot on, so it wasn’t that.  So I change my answer. LW’s husband should stay away from that area.  She can choose to shave or do nothing till the salons open up, but that’s her choice.  For the love of all that is holy, don’t attempt this on yourself!!!
Omg too funny thanks for reporting back

@charmedpam which outfit did you end up picking?

  • Oh man, I have the best example of how just...ignorant the anti-maskers are being here.

My city passed a masking ordinance.

The county is refusing to take it up.  The state never will.

A smallish suburb that our city runs into (and has tried to annex before) just voted 0-6 in their city council against putting in place a masking ordinance.  Why?  B/c the anti-maskers from my city are flowing into that city to do their shopping.  People are literally driving a half hour or more out of their way b/c they just cannot wear a mask for...less than half an hour.

  • Happy birthday!!! @charlotte989875

I am so so sorry @ei34. Pets are family. I don’t care if they are humans or not, they’re a special part of the family unit.

@CharmedPam dying at your update. My friend and I tried waxing each other once. It did not go well. And there was wax eeeeverywhereee. I was also getting super regular Brazilians at the time so it’s not like I was unfamiliar with technique either. So I say to that husband, gtfo and mind your own unkempt genitalia.

Today is so busy. My managers are out today so it’s just me putting out the million little fires and making things run smoothly. But I’m so far behind on work and it’s stuff that absolutely has to be turned into public health by the end of today. So I might be at work super late.

  • @CharmedPam Does Stitch Fix still let you see what's in your box before it gets delivered? If it does then you can get an idea of what's coming your way and see if any of it could be a contender with the other 3 tops.

Omg great idea @cupcait927!  Just logged in. I saw two tops that could work, have to see what they look like on.  Ummm they’re black.  But that’s totally me.

in my “about” section I let my stylist know that I just bought some new curves within the last year lol.  I said I’d like something that’s not tight, but form fitting and shows off said curves.  So maybe they have that in mind
when choosing and has some stretch?

@CharmedPam I thought your date was last night, is it tomorrow?

I'm laughing at the "what you get on day 1 is what you get 5 years later" because that is so me. I would always be nice but not too dolled up on date 1 because no way I'd want to maintain that all the time haha.  Although if that is true then maybe I would need leggings on day 1 too
  • Happy Birthday and last day of work @charlotte989875! Prayers that all goes smoothly with your labor and delivery.

I'm in Chicago for a few weeks helping DD and SIL with the boys. H is back in Indy so I'm getting updates about the city. I'm glad our governor finally mandated masks (I've been pleasantly surprised that our mayor has been stricter). I just don't get all the bitching about it. The boys wear their masks without complaining so a grown ass adult can do it! I'm so tired of not being able to do anything normal! Why the heck can't people just do what they need to do? What gets me even more is the people that say this is a political conspiracy set forth by liberals. I can't roll my eyes far enough back.

@CharmedPam hope your date went well. I think people who live by themselves must be having the hardest time in all of this. I can't imagine what I would be doing if I didn't have H, DD and the boys to see.So no judgement on your date! My book club met yesterday (obviously I wasn't there), and I was so bummed not to be able to see everyone. It was outside, virtually distant and masks were required. They did FaceTime me which was great but nothing beats in person interaction.

so my stitch fix comes today.  It was scheduled for Monday bit when I checked again, it said today.  I’m hoping it’s a sign and maybe something was meant to be in there?

    otherwise A....play it safe?

i don’t normally dress like the other 2 tops, and I will after a date or two.  I know first impressions are everything, but I also am not one to get dolled up on the first date.  My philosophy is what you see is what you get.  What you meet on date 1 is what you’ll get 5 years down the road too.
Edit; and thanks for asking!  I know some people are probably side eyeing starting to date in a quarantine, but I really need to get out and connect.  I made sure we had outdoor seating. I don’t really do much and it gets lonely.  :-/

I'm not...I think it's wonderful to get out there and be around people.  I hope I don't come off as judgey when I go on my crazed mask rants.  And i hope your date went well! :)
