Trying on Wedding Dresses - Stylist Has Different Size Chart

I went to David’s Bridal this weekend to do an initial dress hunt. Based on their online size guide, I was the exact measurements of a 2. (This is also on par with my work dresses and rent-the-runway sizing.) However, my stylist had a different size chart than the one online and only brought me size 4 and 6 dresses to try on. Every single one required clipping because they were too big. I found a super affordable dress I really liked, but the smallest they had was a size 6. The stylist I was working with still tried to convince me I needed a size 4. Am I being vain? Is this normal for them to try to sell you a dress that is too big and requires altering? Why buy one size too big when you could just get the right size?

  • i think you need to not worry about what the tag says. Sizing is so crazy anyways.  If you try on a gown and fall in love it shouldnt bother you what the dumb tag says.  =)
