Salon on Hudson in the Thayer Hotel

Hello Ladies,

I am looking for some feedback on the Salon on Hudson located in the Thayer Hotel at West Point.  They seem to have reasonable prices for hair and makeup but I wondered if anyone knows someone who has used them before and had a good experience.

    I was married at the Thayer a few years ago in October. It was so beautiful - the views were amazing. 
    I had a trial at the salon and was very unhappy.  I felt the hair was outdated and the makeup was very heavy.  I wanted something really soft and natural.  I had makeup (airbrush) and a hair person come to me.  It was actually worked out to be cheaper for hair/makeup to come to me.

    Thanks so much for your feedback!  I am getting married this October so I am glad to hear you had great views when you got married.

    If you or anyone else has a recommendation of hair and makeup in the Hudson Valley area that would travel to you, I would appreciate it! 

    We will not be staying in the Thayer but will be in a hotel nearby to get ready and I would love to have hair and makeup come to me.

    One word of advice - don't forget to tell your guests and their dates to bring their id.  I put an additonal card in everyones invite.  Are you having your ceremony at the Thayer?
    I used color makeup studio and the john anthony salon.  Both did an outstanding job!!!!

    I thought Salon on the Hudson was GREAT!   I was recommended to this salon by 5 brides who all had a great experiences.  The girls from the salon were very friendly and professional and the atmosphere was lovely.   I was very happy with my hairstyle and I am very picky when it comes to my hair.    I would totally give them a chance, I'm sure you will be extremely satisfied.

    Salon on the Hudson will totally come to you - or you can go to their salon--- either way, they were very flexible :)

    I had my hair and makeup done by Salon on the Hudson twice when I was a bridesmaid in 2 weddings and they did a GREAT job! Their updo styles are very trendy and they can recreate anything I bring in a picture of. I am using them for my wedding on October 21, 2011 and they are coming to my house to do hair and makeup for about 9 women. My trial was amazing and since they do SO MANY weddings/brides, they were professional, knew the bridal lingo, and even made suggestions about types of veils and updos when I wasn't sure what I wanted. They actually did 2 trials for me and were very pleasant and genuinely excited to hear about my wedding details. I think you would be more than happy if you gave them a try. Good luck!
