YAY for 2nd vax!! I heard 40-44 is opening up next week, so DH will be eligible. Wahoo.
It's so rainy and crappy out today. It's also work BFF's day off. Plus, we're still having system issues and this glitch they've found is a massive customer service headache. I have a lot piling up on my plate. I'm so done with this week.
Forgot to mention yesterday, my granny has her shot on the 24th M's grampa has one dose. SFIL's parents have theirs on the weekend.
I'm so excited.
Downside is we just got back in red zone M & I planned on going for sushi and we have a rezo, but if they cancel it then we're ordering Chinese food. Not the same but still not BK safe to have, so we're going to enjoy it at least.
It's going to be beautiful this weekend, so likely during BK's nap I'll be washing windows lol Our back has NEVER been cleaned so it'll be good to do that. Gate is being sorted while BK is gone, so I'll be cleaning floors also. I've got a bunch of other vacuuming to do so it'll just be easier now.
Even though BK is almost 3, we'll be leaving the gate up. We haven't decided future plans about moving - nothing in stone obv. We may just take the door off eventually if we need it to be dealt with. We've talked about a dog in the future, so it'd be nice to have the dog barriered into a small area of the house, especially as a puppy. Our kitchen isn't big enough to do just there, plus the backyard door is in the living room and I want pup to know that's where you go if you need to potty.
Dinner last night was a success! DH was sweet when his parents thanked us for dinner and he said, "This one was all Banana".
I'm TIRED. I have determined I think I must drink water and not drink alcohol after 9 if I'm heading to bed at 10 or 10:30. I just can't. My body hates it and I don't sleep well and this is not going to work.
Our state moved up the vaccine date so I'll make an appointment on Monday April 5th!
Yay for vax! I got our appointments for next week (thanks quarantine 15!) The only available appointments were in the rural areas away from the city, so it will be an hour drive into the mountains. If the weather stays nice, I'm thinking we pack a lunch and go for a hike or something after.
Nothing much else going on today. We had a few Jamesons last night, so I'm all foggy and unmotivated. Book club is tonight and I actually finished the book. We read the Vanishing Half, and I recommend it.
Odd question, for those kiddos in school - labeling. Looks like a lot needs to be labeled for school. Has anyone done something like Mabels Labels so it's bulk? Or anything similar?
H had a vaccine scheduled for next Thursday! My second does is next Friday! There’s a light at the end of all of this!
Second night of anxiety insomnia. Slightly less bad than the night before. I’m sure it’s a mix of actual anxiety about the baby, work stress, general stress but damn it’s zero fun.
My 8am video call got canceled at 8:10 *eyeroll*. At least I'm up and showered and makeup-ed for a day of sitting in a comfy chair watching my mom play with my kiddo, lol. He loves gma so much that he's been squirming away and screaming when I try to snuggle or read. Only Grandma. It's pretty sweet
Yay for everyone's Vax appointments! I'm eligible but can't find appointments anywhere and H will be eligible in about 10 days. Hoping that everyone close to us will be able to get shots before baby comes!
I tried on that dress I liked for my friends wedding and it was not so flattering. I have a couple others i'm interested in so hoping they are better!!!

I've seen some people use them.
I use a Sharpie and often get tired halfway through the school year and stop.

I bought some cheap labels that have held up pretty well. I just use for his coat and backpack, I think we are supposed to label everything but I don't. I don't know how much Mabels Labels are but you can get a set for under $10 with shipping in the US at least.
Just make sure and put the actual name - my mom bought my some and put B's first name and the Initial of my maiden last name. She said she did it because she didn't want a stranger to know his last name - I laughed so hard because it was like mom these are for daycare stuff - and it is just an initial. I used them for a while and daycare got confused and didn't think it was his stuff because of the wrong initial!

I understand your mum's sentiment but also like .... they know your kid's last name lol
This is for school. I just saw the list for the 2021 kinder kids {I'm assuming it'll be same or at least very similar due to covid} so I'm starting to at least look at stuff. Also figured maybe some stuff I'll purchase now so I have it.

Over thinking is a hobby of mine.
There is no reason to purchase stuff now for kindergarten starting this fall, and certainly not for later than that! None! Store stuff you do not need yet at the store and keep your money.

This. Also, there will many more options when school comes around and usually, they are priced to sell.
I'm also the mom buying school supplies the day before school starts and telling my kid last year's backpack works just fine. If I try to buy stuff early and store it, I'll forget where I put it and have to buy new anyway.

I'm notoriously purchasing stuff early. At Xmas I got BK stuff for Easter. I have a bin in my closet for pre-purchased stuff
I’m dissapointed in this quarters stitchfix. I got a jumper, and some sweaters/cardigans which aren’t just me. Plus, it’s almost April and I don’t need sweaters for awhile now. Oh well! Less to spend.
Awesome for your 2nd vaccines, if you’re getting one. Illinois sucks with this roll out. I’m in the category requirements they’re taking now and still can’t get an appointment! I look almost daily. Argh!

I buy ahead a lot depending on what it is and if I can get it for a good deal. If I'm paying full price I wouldn't be buying it early but I can assure you I'm buying stuff 75-90% off for the next holiday or something I know I'm going to use I do it.
In this case if the name labels are not needed for a couple years I wouldn't worry about it. More likely to lose them anyway

Year and half ish? BK starts kindergarten September 2022

I wouldn't buy them now. I've seen the same sales on them every few months so you could definitely wait
Yay for all these vaccines happening! @MissKittyDanger I use stickerkid but I’d wait til the month before BK starts school to buy them.
Rainy, dreary day here. Today is my youngest siblings’ birthday (they’re twins). Sis is still quarantining so I’m going to drive by her house with some freezer meals along with her gift and wave from the window. Boo that bday drive by’s are still a thing.

DO NOT BUY THEM NOW. Don't store stuff in your home that won't be used for 18 months unless it's something that's a collector's item and this is your only opportunity to get it.
I am also a planner and like to pre-buy if I find clearance. My daughters birthday is next week and I already have her presents wrapped! lol It gives me peace of mind because now I don't have to stress if we have a busy/hectic week next week. That being said she starts Kindergarten in the fall and I won't be buying anything until I have a list from the school so I don't buy anything unnecessary.

Oh this isn't so bad. My late aunt was such a pre-buyer that she had Christmas gifts done in the summer. But I think it contributed to a bit of a lack of patience because she would be so planful that sometimes I would have to tell her I need time to look into what she's asking.
FWIW I keep a "gift closet" going, though not so useful right now when I've found things on clearance. That way for birthday parties or B's own birthday/Christmas/whatever I just grab from there. Sometimes I'll go through and weed things out and sell on FB marketplace so it works out well for me though I know not everyone is the same. Plus I've always enjoyed the thrill of the hunt for finding bargains so this is a good way to do it.
I will say I sometimes remind myself that there will always be another sale so I try not to buy things more than 12 months ahead. Can't say it always works especially with after holiday 90% off sales!
As B gets older and has more opinions on things like clothes or toys I'll likely not do it as much but for now it's a great way to save money. I already have his summer and winter wardrobes purchased and ready to go. Sure i'll probably still add things that I buy but usually I go through it all before that season and sell whatever I've decided I don't want to keep anymore.
My niece's birthday is in a few weeks and I have a box of things I've picked up for her. I'll choose several things from the box for her, save some others for Christmas and probably list a few on FB if I think it is something she would no longer be interested in.

BK's bday is end of May, and I'm waiting until after Easter to purchase
I honestly get it from my mother. After my bday {beginning of September} my mum would officially start xmas shopping. She always had 1 or 2 gifts already because there a lot of home made kiosk things over summer.
I'm not feeling so great today. I am suppose to drive up to Chicago but am thinking about waiting until tomorrow. Kind of an upset stomach. Also my girls' group from college is planning a trip for next fall. We all have trip vouchers from canceled trips due to Covid. I have been trying to make reservations through American Airlines and their website won't take it and there is an over one hour wait on the phone! I have to use the voucher before the end of the year and this is the only trip I have on the horizon. My friends all got theirs booked. We are going to NM during the balloon festival. I'm afraid if I don't get it booked soon I won't be able to get reservations!
I just found a hair on my chin and I don't have my tweezers in my purse like I usually do, dammit.
My first vaccine is tonight at 6:15!! I think I'm just going to stay at work a bit late, so that I don't have to drive all the way home, sit 20 minutes, and drive basically all the way back to work. Maybe I'll go out to dinner or something. I'm so excited to get this shot, I need a social life back.
I'm supposed to do something with a friend tomorrow and I don't know what to do, I'm tired of the places I've gone (okay, 1 place and I don't want to go there), but I don't think we're at a "hang and chill at my place" level...and I don't want to clean my place either. IDK, I'm still in a funk and pulling out of it is hard. I have new stuff arriving at my apartment at various times all next week and it's like Christmas only for me!!!
Sorry to hear you aren't feeling well @ILoveBeachMusic I hope you are able to get your reservations sorted.
@MissKittyDanger I used to be a pre-planned like you but I think living in this country has mellowed me out SO MUCH, lol. It's like the more I tried to plan things the less they were to work out so I had to chill or I would have given myself a nervous break down, lol. Like real estate agents won't even show you a place unless you are supposed to move within the month. It is infuriating.
I have been feeling anxious about booking tickets home in August, the fact that I will most likely travel alone with a 2.5 y/o, jet lag, ect. But then I called a airport hotel and now it seems much more manageable. Expensive but manageable.
I woke up to a text from my mom the other day letting me know she was recovering from an appendectomy. It was just like that prudie letter a few weeks ago. She's fine and it provided an opportunity for her to remove her husband as her emergency contact and add my sister.
Update: I now own two super cute new bras and one Extremely Supportive Beige Bra and am delighted. Standing around topless felt less awkward in a mask!
We open up vac for everybody April...and I"m scheduled april 29.
I totally buy shit early, but I have a stash and things get donated out of them often. Much like kvrun's givt closet--I have an entire drawer of school supplies which also means I hand over boxes of new crayons to random children frequently. Also, I have easter egg colors that I bought after easter last year because I buy the good ones at 90% off; that's who I am.
I did mable's lables, and they were great, but I also bought some cheap knockoffs on etsy last time we ran out and they hold up almost as well for like 1/2 the price.
I stayed home from work today. I was feeling worse, but still not too bad. Just especially tired. Not much going on. Came over to say hi to WW and check out Prudie, lol.
Yay vaccines opening up! I was just reading that the 100 millionth vaccine dose is expected to happen soon in the US.
