Will it be wet on WEDNESDAY

I think we're getting rain today

Re: Will it be wet on WEDNESDAY

  • Same here. Although right now it’s warm and sunny.

Not much today- my manager is getting ready to go on leave and he wants to talk about all the things. I get it but also we’re just going to figure it out when he’s out so I don’t know- stop micromanaging me now.

I’m catching up on work but my schedule is busy today. I’m just not engaged right now. Probably time for a vacation.
  • @charlotte989875 how long is your boss out on leave?  Any timeline on the job you applied for?

All parents get 12 weeks paid leave at my company.

I’m not sure, I haven’t heard anything so I’m not that optimistic anymore.
  • Rain also here.
Then super mild - likely muggy feel - tomorrow.

BK was brought home yesterday after throwing up. She was fine but pretty tired.
We discovered some expired yogurt, so we figure it's that. She's kept home today but she's definitely feeling better.

M is basically not working today since I basically didn't work yesterday.

Pollen is running high. Idk if it's that or in coming weather but I have a headache :(
  • I was having a weird dream right before I woke up, so it seemed very real.  In my dream, I had "misunderstood" the date Good Friday was on and it was actually this Friday.  Which meant I then got Monday off also for being the day after Easter...I don't, that isn't a thing at all where I work, lol.  I was planning to check out plane tickets for a last minute booking to NYC, since I would have so much time off unexpectedly.  So I woke up excited that I only had to work today and then would have a half day tomorrow.  And then reality came crashing back down, lol.

Other than that, not much exciting going on today, lol.

Louisiana lifted the statewide mask mandate yesterday.  It's still required for schools (including colleges), public transportation, and hospitals.  It's now up to each parish (county) to decide their own mask policy.  And private businesses can also require masks.  NOLA has already made a statement that nothing has changed, mask-wise.  They are still required in public.  But they are reviewing things and may ease that in the coming weeks.

I'm not very happy about it.  I think it's too soon, considering Louisiana is in the bottom three states for % of the population that has been fully vaccinated.  Which is disappointing because we'd started out strong with vaccines, in the earlier days.

  • Grr.  It's raining today and supposed to rain tomorrow which means, ONCE AGAIN, my float trip will be cancelled.  The river will just be too high and fast.  We were only going to do the 5 mile float and it'll go by too quickly.  It's always a risk when you try to do an early spring, but usually I'm pretty lucky with it.

Meet with my attorney this afternoon.

My work motivation is zero, zilch, nada.  I've already finished my daily plan, which means I need to switch to my "always catching up on this stuff" things, but I don't want to do those things, I just want to go home and veg.  So basically SSDD.

One of my coworkers usually spends her lunch hour walking around the neighborhood.  She was talking yesterday that a perk to wearing a mask outside is her allergies are a lot better!  The mask blocks some of those outside allergens, like pollen.  She was laughing that, even once COVID is long over, she's going to wear a mask when she is outside, during the springtime.

  • Yep rain here. It is already feeling muggy. I covered up the porch furniture since it is to be windy also. It was glorious sitting out there yesterday reading. However, I'm paying for it with my allergies! I've been sneezing like crazy and my eyes are a mess. If I were out in public, people would be giving me the side eye thinking I had Covid!

M & I were talking about pros about masks after covid.
Normalizing if you're mildly unwell, or wearing in doctor office's, etc.
  • @short+sassy FWIW our state mask mandate lifted a few weeks ago but I have not noticed a difference in mask wearing. If I go to the store I might see 1-2 people without one but that's always been the case.

Story: My parents came back from FL after the winter  and got back right after the mandate lifted. They went into a restaurant without a mask because they thought they didn't need it anymore. I was like mom you still need to wear one, and most places still require it!

It’s hot here today (getting into the 70s) but rain is expected tomorrow.

@short+sassy we’re having some mask shifts too.  Nothing I’m uncomfortable with but I know some states are in “okay, back to normal” mode.
  • Back at work and training someone. Weekend was a lot of fun. I need to get back on my diet though. Otherwise SSDD. FI has a work trip this weekend so I’m trying to decide what to do with myself. Hike with FSIL? Take a day and drive to the beach and just enjoy alone time? Have a glass of wine in the back yard? There’s so many options.

  • Looks like the cold front is heading through but I'm hopeful the tutor can sit outside with Chiquito.

My sore throat is about gone and DH is improving.  What looks like it's "just" a cold is moving out and I look forward to the quarantine being lifted next week and getting my 2nd shot tomorrow.

  • I haven't been sleeping very well this week and am super duper tired in the afternoons. I'm also realizing that maybe we shouldn't have bought a new bed in the middle of a pregnancy.  I'm having a really hard time figuring out if I'm uncomfortable bc of that or because i just don't like the bed.

Kind of in the calm before the storm (next week) at work.  I have a couple tiny things to do today and I just cannot get myself to do them.

    Rainy here today too.
