Move the date or the venue?

Hello! Looking into getting married in Dallas in April 2022, just found out our preferred venue is only available the very first weekend of April :(

What will the weather be like? Will there be any green, will there be leaves and flowers? I’d always wanted a spring wedding, but am I just being selfish? Or should we find another venue for our preferred mid-late April date?

    The weather in Dallas at that time of year is usually pretty mild to warm. There should be some green. Congratulations and best wishes! Best of luck!

    Consider the weekend after that is Palm Sunday and the third weekend in April 22 is Easter.  As far as scheduling goes, that's the weekend in April to go with.  If you were suggesting Minnesota/Iowa/Wisconsin/Michigan for the the First weekend in April that'd be one thing, but you're talking Dallas..  If anything I'm surprised that weekend is still available, so IMO - jump!

    I’ve never been to TX, but I’m assuming early April will be great?  @MesmrEwe makes a great point that Easter is in mid April so a lot of people consider that family time.

    I think early April in TX sounds fine. In general, it's advised to confirm your date with your VIPs first before booking.  If the time of year is great but the closest family can't attend then the date isn't as perfect as you thought.

    I'm not from Texas, but speaking for the majority of the south, spring is unpredictable. For example, this year we had temps in the 80s one week and temps in the 50s the next, both in April. 

    You should see some spring foliage, but there's no way you can predict specific weather for the weekend. If you're planning any part of the event outside, but sure to plan a backup indoor option.
