Wedding Woes

Rainy Thursday

I'm enjoying the break from the heat.  It's still humid though, lame.

Today is my Friday!  Woohoo.

Dinner with my friend last night was great.  DH and DefConn enjoyed Fast 9.  I also stopped at my fave boutique and found a couple cute shirts.

DH applied for the job he got a lead on before vacation and had to take an assessment last night.  I hope this process, good or bad, doesn't take too long.  However DH is in the best position having a job he likes and if this doesn't work, it's on to the next.

Prudie coming up.

Re: Rainy Thursday

  • I’m tired and cranky, hoping the rain cools things off. Work has been a cluster and it’s not getting better anytime soon. I need to start looking elsewhere either in the bank or externally but it’s just so much work and I’m exhausted.

  • We supposed to get rain today too, but I think it's going to be one of those days where it rains and it's just more humid, you know? I really don't know why I live in the south.

My sister is trying to get me to go back home with her next weekend. I guess I don't have any reason not to go other than I just don't feel like it. So I guess I'm going to go and just not be very excited about it.

    I'm looking forward to Prudie!
  • Still hot, no rain here. 😉

Nothing new here. Waiting on my grocery delivery so I can start dinner.
  • There's nothing like the drama when a rising 2nd grader gets his beach day but his rising 6th grader big sister does NOT.  OHH  the drama.

I'm trying to play catch up at work and I'm rocking a cute romper.   For the first time I'm wearing something backless and am giving a shot with the silicone cover things so I don't wear a bra and no one knows I'm cold.  If they stay on all day I'll call it a win and maybe this gets packed for Disney!

  • @banana468, I wish I could rock a romper.  I've tried several on and my body type is just not meant for them.  Also, no bra is a no go.  Underboob sweat would be the end of me.  LOL

I'm at the size where I wear one so no one knows I'm cold.
  • I was so excited to complete my delivery food mystery shop last night.  Except, no.  That restaurant I was supposed to order food from does not appear to be open.  At least I'm still getting the small fee, but I was looking forward to the food!  We ended up ordering Domino's instead, lol.  So sad!  Though now I'm having leftover pizza for a late breakfast.  Silver linings.

I have a nicely busy day at work.  Then I have a lot to do when I get off work.  I have a few gas station audits that needed to be completed by Sat., but I want to do at least 2.  Maybe 3 (eek), when I get off work today so that most of them are done and out of the way.

I went to bed pretty early last night and actually got 9 hours of sleep!  I've been running on fumes all week, so it was great to finally catch up on my sleep some.

  • @banana468 my FSIL bought one of these for her wedding dress but has been wearing it with everything. She loves it. Sorry I can’t hyperlink on mobile.

Two more days of work left until vacation. Every day has felt the longest. Im trying to clear off my desk in the hopes it helps me relax more on vacation. Otherwise I have some leftover tacos from the taco truck yesterday and I’m not mad about it.

    @charlotte989875 I hope work improves.

@MyNameIsNot not feeling like it is a good enough reason to me.

Oh and happy Canada Day for the Canadians (when you all get back!)  But you probably took Friday off too, and won’t be back till Monday - but then most of the Americans will be off, soooo….

    I celebrated Canada day with:

    Elvis French Toast
Stuffed with peanut butter, banana, and topped with bacon and chocolate.

It wasn’t “stuffed” but has that on the top.  Only one peice of bacon AND it was just hershey syrup.  I need something gourmet on that. But I also ordered a kale & spinach smoothie, thinking it would counterbalance it - and it does not.  Someone needs to roll me home.

  • Happy Canada Day!  I am off today, but still have to work tomorrow.  Yesterday was a 12 hr day for me ... and this is supposed to be the week when things got a little less crazy!  I'm more than halfway through my training class, so we are getting there.  I think they are planning another training class right after though, so who knows when I'll have to get right back in it.

Tuesday was crazy ... I didn't have time to post, but belatedly update my story now.  So, in my city we had a crazy storm, absolutely insane.  By far the worst weather we have had in this house.  The wind was so crazy and the rain was coming down so fast that we had a brief leak in our kitchen just from too much rain and WE DIDN'T NOTICE THE TREES COMING DOWN!!!  The neighbour's behind me had a tree snap in half, but somehow it fell and completely missed our yard and fell in our side neighbour's yard.  But it still fell in such a way that it missed a) the back neighbour's awesome playhouse b) my shed c) the side fence and d) the neighbour's shed.  All of those things are right against each other, and this tree feel in between or over them.  So bizarre.  Meanwhile, the neighbour across the street had their tree (in their boulevard, which I sort of defined up in Monday's chat) lose a massive limb and completely block our street!  So about ten houses wouldn't be able to leave because of this massive branch. So all the neighbours got out, and hubby and I grabbed our axes and tried to chop it a bit so we could move it.  Then someone took pity and grabbed a chainsaw and chopped it up enough that we could move it. It was really cool to see people coming together to help others out.  And I got to get some neighbour's names, which was nice.

  • Oh wow! Someone was watching over you guys with the tree missing everything!!

and maybe you can say, if one questions it, the tree you moved from your boulevard wasn’t from a human.. mother nature did that!
