Tuesday2222022

And I think it's national margarita day.

KIddos are home today and back to school tomorrow.  I'm trying to get Paul McCartney tickets and am hoping it works out!

Re: Tuesday2222022

  • Weekend was good.
Dance went ok. I talked to her coach and she said it's not an issue and it's a bigger progress then anticipated for kids her age {she's in 2-3 group} This group is looked at as "learning to listen"

Is it good I have reassurance from teachers? Yes
Am I still worried? 100% yes
Will I still talk to her dr at her 4yr appt? Yes. Conversations don't hurt.

After dance, she wasn't that tired {unlike gymnastics where she asked for nap so early} so we just packed her things and she was staying over a SFIL and MIL's place

Dropped her off and headed to the "auto park" - which is a bunch of dealerships in one area.
I'm down to a few questions but 2 cars are basically it

Chevy Spark or Toyota Corolla Hatchback

There's a few things that would make me not go spark - which is my priority choice because fuck gas prices.

Afterwards we went to book store. I got BK a pop fidget to see if that helps. Also she's been asking about stickers and they had 700 easter stickers for fairly cheap :)
I'm still on hunt for her Marlon Bundo book but if I can't get soon, I'm going to order it.

Afterwards we just chilled at home before going for dinner. Sushi! :)
We ate so much then watched Guardians of the Galaxy volume 1 and part of volume 2 - we're slowly going through the MCU timeline lol It's a slow run.
  • It IS national margarita day.  And taco Tuesday.  Alas, I will not be participating. Good luck with those ticket sales @banana468

Yesterday was such a beautiful Spring day.  I went shopping (JC Penny had a door buster sale on all bras ($19.98)- but the fitting rooms aren’t open so I’m returning it since it did nothing for me. Grrrr, can we start opening up these fitting rooms?) I took myself to see Death on the Nile, good movie (murder on the orient express was better) but not great.

Back to work.  Back to reality.

  • Damn, now I want a margarita later.

    Good luck w/ the tickets!

SSDD here. I did have a teeth cleaning scheduled for this afternoon but they cancelled on me because the hygienist had an emergency.  And the earliest they could reschedule me is 3/14. *eyeroll* I just want to get this over with.

Sorry that happened. Yeah doctor/dentist appointments are so far out. Even my optometrist was about a month wait.

  • Yahooo @mrsconn23, shop away in celebration of that raise. LOL I love TJ/Marshalls.  But even better i love finding a deal at Ross. I think I need to go there Saturday to see what they have.  Even though shopping should be the last thing on my list to do.
    What does HAM mean?

HAM = Hot Ass Mess  ;)

Also, Ross is just down from TJ Maxx in the area I was shopping.  It's definitely more hit or miss than TJ Maxx, but I'm not afraid to hit it up when I have the time.  I've found some excellent deals on jeans at Ross.

TJ Maxx's high end beauty clearance is the shit.  I find the best deals on face wash and moisturizer along with styling products, shampoo, and conditioner.  I got a big-ass thing of body wash with a pump for DefConn for $4. It will last him months.

  • It’s Two’sDay. A margarita sounds great. I am hungry but trying to hold off until lunch. Yesterday I had an interview for a job I really want and I’m feeling nervous about it. I already know it takes 4 separate interviews to get to the offer stage so I’m just stressing out about hopefully getting the next interview….and then the next one….and then the next one.

I called my Grandmother yesterday and she wants everyone to go out to dinner on Sunday because my uncle is in town. We’re going to go, but I’m a little disgruntled it’s going to be 1.5 hours away. She originally offered to come to our city but I felt bad. It’s about an hour drive from their place and they’re almost 90 so I don’t like them driving that far by themselves. But then instead of having the dinner in her city she switched to having it at the beach near my Aunt’s place. We went from having it super convenient to having it in the most inconvenient location for us to attend. Also on a Sunday when we have work the next day (everyone else going to dinner except my dad is retired—my parents also live closer to my Aunt than we do). I really want to see them and we’re going but it’s just so far on a Sunday before work. I told FI I guess we can do a beach hike and then I’ll reinstate my gym membership so we can go to the gym and then shower afterwards. Oh well. We’re seeing family and that’s the important thing to focus on.

Otherwise hike tonight with FSIL A and FSIL B. We’re hoping to help FSIL B see the light on what is potentially a financially and emotionally devastating move forward in her relationship. Something is not passing our smell test and we’re not trying to shit on her relationship, just say slow down a second and let things naturally progress. If they’re meant to be and if this person is right, six months or a year delay in things won’t matter. There’s a reason her gut is telling her one thing but she wants all of it so badly she’s making rash decisions and honestly I’m really worried. The red flags are covered in red glitter and I don’t want her to get sucked into what I think has the strong potential for an abusive relationship.

    Otherwise SSDD.

First oft happy early bday @VarunaTT.  I fogot how old you were (thanks for putting that in there lol), but I knew you weren’t to far off from me (42).

in the last few months my period has been 2x a month and SO painful.  So they’re occurring more, lasting longer, and giving me cramps, which I don’t normally get.  I’m on BC not just for contraception purposes but for regularly, which stopped.  So I was telling my friend this, and she told me she just stopped taking the placebo week. She’s 43.  Has been doing it a year.  Says she hasn’t had her period in a year and it’s been great. She talked to her doc and her doc approved, saying there was nothing wrong with doing that, and eventually she just gave her a script that didn’t have that week in it.

i know. I know.  Talk to my doc before doing things.  But I don’t.  I’m going to tell her in June, at my annual physical but I don’t see the need to go in earlier. I was once on seasonique, which gave you a period once every 3 months (4?) but that effed me up too.  No periods tyvm.

So don’t do what I did, and just skip that week without approval or anything, but maybe talk to your doc about doing that? Btw, it takes about 3 months to adjust.  I had very minimal breakthrough bleeding.
eta: that’s even if your taking it? Lol.  Maybe try to go on it if that’s an option. I was on BC for years while I was celebate.  It was great for my skin, hormones AND for awhile there, kept me on a pretty good cycle:  just the last year or so it was getting early. And then suddenly twice a month.  Body changes.

  • I’m here. We’re still sleep training. Work is still busy. My mom is testing out watching the baby today to make sure she’s still feeling okay. We’re having a hard time communicating lately and I’m thinking it’s time to reevaluate the babysitting arrangement and it’s hard. She loves him but doesn’t like our sleep routine and said something hurtful yesterday that H told her not to tell me after she said it to him. Her health still isn’t great so that’s a big part of it.

    Ugh. We’re managing.
  • I haven't been on birth control for years b/c of marital issues and then having a partner I didn't have to worry about pregnancy with.  I really hated BC though and am loathe to go back.  I have been tracking and yeah, I'm down to 22 days in between, which is annoying AF, but they are still really light and short (I take a supplement to help with the PMDD), so I'm just chalking this one up to a bad round.  I track everything through my health app, so I noted all the stuffs and will make sure.  I probably should get on BC, JIC I decide to have sex with a p***s.  Bisexual problems.

    :smiley::wink:
  • Thumbs down on the crappy periods @VarunaTT and @Char@CharmedPam
That’s ridiculous about the dentist scheduling @climbingsingle
I thought HAM was “hard-a$$ MF”, like I went hard
on that TJ Maxx sale…but yours is fun too (and really relatable 😝) @mrsconn23
Ugh- those convos are hard @charlotte989875 , good luck!

Schools here are closed this week for our February break. Trying to avoid STBXH and looking forward to getting back out of the house next Monday. Did a major overhaul of the kids’ closet yesterday and the linen closet today. Spent  a bit more at Container Store than I should have (I went ham too) but I can’t stop opening the doors to look at my work, lol.

Did some more cooking for youngest sis and had some quality snuggle time with baby niece.  She feels little mama is her last so I’m trying to get in these precious newborn moments…my mom admitted she’s doing the same. That curled up little bod and the sweet scalp smell won’t last much longer.

  • We are in such a bad place with our rentals right now and I am SO frustrated about it!

I have 10 rental units and, within the next couple weeks, I will have 7 vacancies.  Then I have another tenant who will probably be leaving in the next 1-3 months.  Here's the deal:

Temporarily rented to a roofing company from IL back in December.  I was reticent and initially told them "no" because I assumed 4 unrelated guys would be loud and obnoxious.  But the owner swore, swore, swore to me that they weren't.  They'd be working hard and only be there at night to rest and sleep.  Blah, blah, blah.  F**king liar.  They have been a NIGHTMARE and have run off my awesome tenants who lives in the other unit.

I was actually in the process of moving the "bad" tenants to a different house that is a stand-alone.  And I had told the "good" tenant that.  But Good Tenant gave me their notice earlier this month anyway.  She actually didn't give it to me until the 5th, but I'm letting that slide.  Which was extra massively sucky because, since my H and were on vacation, we weren't able to do showings ahead of time to try and lessen the vacancy.  While on vacation, I called the energy company to automatically switch the service to my name when it was turned off.  But found out today that they didn't do any of that.  Had to completely start from scratch.

And now my previously "good" tenant is being obnoxious because we had planned to do a walk through tonight, but I can't because the lights are off.  She texted me something like, "I can see there is going to be a problem."  And that she is going to call me at lunch.  Whatever.  Apparently she expected to get her security deposit on the spot, which is not necessarily how that works.  Something I already told her when they gave me their notice.

For the cherry on top.  The "bad" tenants are paying extra to be on a month-to-month, but had verbally told me they planned to stay until at least April.  But they gave their notice also, while we were on vacation.  They go the 15th to the 15th.  They said work has dropped off.  On the bright side, they paid for this month, but said they would be leaving around March 1st.

Our one single, family house was being renovated but should be completed shortly.  However, that will be another vacancy to fill.  Though at least for a house that is already vacant.

Then we come to my master tenant running mini nursing homes out of four of our units (two duplexes).  She hasn't paid rent since January.  The eviction hearing for the first unit is on Thursday.  The eviction hearings for the other three are next Thursday.  So that will be four more vacancies.

Lastly, a long-term tenant recently got a Section 8 housing voucher.  She's been a difficult tenant over the years, so I'm not really that bummed to see her go.  It's just bad timing and extra stress on top of everything else.  I wouldn't even mind letting her stay there with the voucher, except her voucher is only for 1-bedroom and it's a 3-bedroom place.  Which means, S8 will only allow me to charge the fair market rent for a 1-bedroom and that is not happening.  She hasn't given me her notice yet because I she hasn't found her next place.  But I assume that will be coming in the near future.

In the end, it will all work out and be for the better.  But it's so stressful and a lot of uncertainty that is going on right now.  I just can't believe all of this is happening at once (sigh).

For my small, bright side.  It will be a good opportunity to raise rents.  They haven't gone up massively in my area over the last year, like the news media likes to scream about.  But they have gone up.  I should be able to earn $1,000/month more (collectively), not including the SFH.  Unfortunately, that's at the cost of 3 months of no rent for the two duplexes I'm evicting.  2-4 weeks of lost rent each for the two vacating units.  And probably a couple months of rent for my tenant who just got the S8 voucher.  Her kitchen cabinets all need to be replaced, so that's 2-3 weeks of rehab before we start doing showings.  Not her fault.  They were on their last legs when she moved in and now it's time.

  • I think tickets may be a bust after we're seeing the cost and DH saying that if it's going to be most of his current stuff it may not be what he's wanting to see.

So now I'm trying to convince him to get tickets to see the Foo Fighters at Citi Field in July.  We're going to see DMB in June and I have confirmed seats but don't know where they are.

H and I saw McCartney a few years ago. H bought the tickets and said it was the most he ever spent (I didn't want to know). It was a great show. He sang his old stuff, some Beatles old stuff and a little new. He is an awesome performer. If I only had the energy he has. It was over a two hour show with no break.
  • @levioosa that’s amazing! Are you skipping the other interviews then?!?

    Congrats to SIL @casadena 🌈

  • Congrats @levioosa!  That's awesome!
