Wedding Woes

Wednesday

Yay for hump day!!  These last few weeks have just felt so long and difficult.  I've got a few warring emotions going on in me that I'm just kind of sitting with; there's not much to be done about them so I'm trying to let them run their course.  I'm feeling a hibernation time coming on and I'm okay with that, TBH.  I'm feeling a bit overstretched lately.  There was a lot of peopling on Saturday and I haven't really recovered from it.

Otherwise, SSDD.  Not too much to report honestly.

    He has a runny nose and a bit of a cough. No fever thank gods and he’s playing and eating normally.

    I have a sore throat, headache, congestion but overall not bad. I ran this morning thinking it was just a regular cold since I tested negative yesterday.
  • That suuuuuuuccks @charlotte989875 do you think you got it from your dad? (That was you right? My brain is mushy from newborn life)

    Congratulations @CharmedPam that's awesome.

    @VarunaTT I love a good hibernation. I am a person who needs a lot of alone/ down time to recharge my batteries. Looking forward to getting some when these kids go off to college, lol. 😉

    I met my trainer and workout buddy for coffee today. It was lovely to see them in general but also out of gym clothes. Nothing going on with me but DH is planning on taking DS camping in the desert for a night or two this weekend. Then he is taking his paternity leave next week. We will do our newborn pictures and go to the embassy to begin the process of getting DD a passport.
  • that sucks @charlotte989875  I wouldn't bother testing him if it doesn't change quarantine anyway.  FWIW when I had it in Dec I would have sworn B had it, he had the worst cold of his life right after I tested positive and somehow he was negative the entire time.  I kept testing him bc him being positive would have reduced quarantine so I was hoping for a positive
  • Still easing back into work, I have a million things to do but dont want to do it. I'm tied up in meetings all afternoon.  Still need to shower and look presentable for one.

    Yesterday was gorgeous out so I left early and took B to the park after daycare. It's the park closest to the house and yet we'd never been. It is the perfect park for him - so many parks are made for older kids and there's always stuff that's too big for him to do or I worry about him falling off an open spot so we will definitely be back here.   Today will be just as nice but since I''ll be in meetings no leaving early today
  • @charlotte989875 noooo :(

    @VarunaTT I feel you. I think it's the winter just hitting horrible. No like winter sadness, just ... a lot? Good news, it's almost spring!

    @CharmedPam yay good review! :)
  • BK is starting to get in a better routine and sleeping through the night again.
    Last night I had her try on a few summer things - rompers from last year - and luckily I did. One didn't fit, and the other 2 she got mad trying to get them on/off - so they're in donation bin!

    I think we may try on a couple of her shorts soon also. I wanna be sure what we have vs what we need. I think I may need to pick up a few more pairs of shorts tbh. We'll see. I also need to eventually pick up at least 1 outfit she can wear for gymnastics.

    Anyways, I've made so many calls regarding BK this morning and I have such a headache. I feel it's partly sinus, so I've added more allergy and sinus spray into my grocery list. Allergy season starts soon *sigh*

    In other news, I'm talking to a dealership about a car this weekend! Idk when they're in but even though it'll make my budget tight, it's doable for a couple months.
    It's not electric like I'd hoped, but it's fuel efficient and this will probably take us to when electric is more available financially.
  • Oh no @charlotte989875 I'm so sorry.  Did you just find out?

    Yah since he’s not (yet) in daycare it doesn’t change much to test or not. We have home tests but it’s so hard to do it with him. So we just assume he has it (again) and Wait for his symptoms to subside.

    Maybe? I’m still super frustrated they didn’t bother to test when he was sick but likely I could have gotten it at a work lunch Wednesday (although no one else that was there is positive). I feel like I just won’t know at this point.

    Yup. He’s had cold symptoms since Saturday night and I haven’t felt great the last two days. I was negative Sunday and yesterday but tested positive on the rapid test this morning.
  • Ugh.  Well now I'm hoping that my post-nasal drip is just something funky.  DH has it too and has been testing and has been neg so I'm optimistic that as we've been symptomatic and neg that we're in the clear.

    But to your point this is frustrating in light of the other situations you've encountered.
  • Btw who has a good water bottle storage solution?
    BK has 2 but I know with school she'll have more, and M & I have a couple also.

    I'm thinking of something like this but not as expensive - anyone got ideas? {No a cabinet is not an option - at least not until our kitchen is done}

  • @charlotte989875, Yeesh!  I'm so sorry to hear that.  It was such a short time ago you all had it! You'd think between being fully vaccinated and a recent bout, that you'd be totally safe for awhile.  I hope you and the baby start feeling better.

    @CharmedPam, yay good review!  I was sorry to hear about your former MIL in the other post.

    I had a great, long weekend!  I did two gas station audits on Friday and one on Sunday.  Each one paid almost double what they normally do so, including my gas reimbursement, they were about $40 each.

    I happened to get up pretty early on Sun. morning, so I snuck down to Harrahs because I had $15 in slot play and 4,000 reward credits ($40 value) I could download to my account.  I had been planning to do that on Monday...because Harrah's gets boxed in by parades on MG weekend...so was glad to knock it out with my other errands on Sunday.  I wasn't there long, but ended up hitting 4 deuces on quarter video poker.  I walked away with 300 bucks!

    Then I did a massive shopping trip and picked up Rx's at Walmart.  We hadn't grocery shopped since our trip over a week ago, lol.  Needless to say, our fridge was very bare.

    While there, I bought all kinds of goodies for my Mimosa Monday/Lundi Gras with my neighbor friend (the Monday before MG is called Lundi Gras).  Which turned out to be a such a nice day!  We started at noon and I didn't go home until 8pm, lol.  Spent all day catching up, drinking mimosas, and munching on veggie and fruit trays.  Plus chips and guac.  I had also picked us up a king cake that had an almond paste filling.  There was a walking parade that went past our cross street in the mid afternoon.  We watched it from her balcony.

    MG day, I just laid low and stayed home.

    And now I'm back to work (sigh) and it is a busy day.  At least it is a short week.

    Really hoping you all are negative.

    But yah this was the last thing we needed right now.

    Is this contributing to the current household issues and increasing your H's desire to move to use daycare?

    Ugghh sorry @charlotte989875 what a huge drag.  Wishing you all health.
    Congrats @CharmedPam

    Today is the first day of mask optional in schools by us.  I'm still in mine, I want to give it another few weeks, or maybe until April break.  I'd say about 1/3 of the students and 2/3 of the faculty are still masked but I'm happy that we've gotten to a point, almost two years later, where making it optional is something we can discuss and consider.  I may start to unmask in public to ease back into it.  I may try at the supermarket this weekend, or at church.
  • Also, it's Ash Wednesday and I'm fasting and hungry.  I will say it seems like after 3 cups of green tea the throat is slightly better.  But I'd prefer a lot of food.

    My kids's school does a cheeseburger for lunch a couple times a month, and today is one of those days.  They love it so I let them get it even though I usually prefer they have lunch from home.  This morning I suddenly remembered it was Ash Wednesday and threw sandwiches and carrot sticks into their lunchboxes super last minute.  They were not happy...I didn't even tell them they can't play on the playground after school bc I want to make it to the 3:30 service at our church  :#

    My church options were noon or 6:30.  Bah!
  • Woohoo @short+sassy way to celebrate your long weekend. Nice win!
    @STARMOON44, I bet there’s a delight in that!
    @ei34 heh, at least it’s just for one day! (Right? I’m not very religious)
