    Weekend was nice enough.  We were supposed to have a rainy Saturday but it held off until overnight, so our St. Patrick's/double birthdays/St. Joseph's celebration took place mostly in the backyard.  My poor cousin had a big surgery on Friday and returned home yesterday, last night was my turn on her Meal Train so I got a lot of cooking done and made some extra for us, so I actually have a couple dinners for my family done too which is nice.  STBXH wove in and out of good behavior.  How was everyone's weekend?
  • Nice that she had that meal train set up @ei34!

    weekend was good.  Saturday was just a bunch of back to back appointments and then a really good dinner meetup.  The people. Not the food. But I found a place with 2010 drink prices! $5/mixed drink. Never seen them that low. I got to socialize a bit with some of the nashville girls so I could get to know them better.
    Sunday was supposedly gorgeous but I stayed in and watched mayor of kingstown and caught up on trash reality.  Made some delicious food from the Polish deli I went to (‘erbody get yourself a jar of Polish pickels.  You’ll hate the American ones after that), I did get out to aee a movie (X), and then a perfectly timed walmart pick up.  Just prepped for this upcoming week.

  • BK had such a fun March break :)
    Idk how much I mentioned, but here's a break down.

    Sleep over with grandma {my mum} from Sunday - Tuesday
    Monday my mum took her to an indoor gym near my work, so I saw them for lunch :)
    Tuesday they went shopping. I told my mum what I was looking for so if they saw cute stuff.
    Discovered she is into small dolls {think old school Kelly doll size}

    Wednesday - Thursday sleepover at IL's
    Drop off Wednesday, saw her MASSIVE dollhouse {ideal size for beanie boos}
    They tried to take her to the farm but forgot to pre-order tix. Bought tix for SFIL and BK to go next day.
    Tried to get her McD smoothie, machine broken. Child accepted ice cream cone lol
    BK stayed up late to watch hockey and snuggle.
    Went to farm. Loves animal. We are taking her again later.

    Had St. Patty's day dinner at IL's

    Friday home with me. We went to the park and went for smoothies.
    BK was tired from all the excitement so she took a nap.

    moving IS a workout @climbingsingle! Take a rest, you deserve it.  So glad it all went smoothly and congrats on the move in! How far is his place to your fam?

  • And BK cracks me up @MissKittyDanger.  I can see her personality in those pics

  • @CharmedPam her personality is really coming out lately lol
  • @MissKittyDanger His son will be 19 this year.

    @CharmedPam my aunt (mom's sister, very close with her) lives only a mile away! It's about 35 minutes to my brother, and about an hour to my mom and dad's.
  • @climbingsingle, So excited for you to be onto the next chapter!

    I had a good weekend. Friday night pedicure, because it's spring! Saturday we did a long neighborhood run and then went to a soccer game. Yesterday we did a short hike on our mission to hike the whole river trail system. The upside of hiking a small section was that we had the park to ourselves, so I was able to let doggo off leash a little. Afterwards, I tried to do some shopping, but it's tough. Everything is mom jeans and giant prairie dresses. Blech.
  • I didn't do anything again.  I had to call into work on Friday b/c I got whammied and took one of my few last pain pills.  I had the sinus headache, really bad cramps, and a period symptom that I haven't had for years showed up again (swelling of my lower gums on the left bottom of my face.  Swollen so badly it was hurting up into my ear and sinus cavity).  I was miserable AF.  Did some cleaning and other chores, but nothing else.  Ordered a few more of my papercraft models, just so I have something to do at home.  I just feel like I'm struggling right now, but I can't quite figure out why and it's annoying me.
  • @ei34, I hope your cousin is doing okay after their surgery.

    @climbingsingle, congrats on the move!

    I had a good weekend.  Friday night and Saturday-day were fairly mellow and relaxing.  My H and I met our new friend at a dive bar.  We all had a good time.

    But I'm more interested in the bar, next door!  It's dog friendly and even has a bench next to the large front window.  Dogs climb on the bench, stand on their hind legs, and are fed treats.  It was really cute!  I thought it would be fun to bring Izzy down there.

    On Sunday, I went to the Irish-Italian parade.  It was fun and the weather was beautiful, though a lot more crowded than it has been in years past.

    My friend and I both made the strategic error of forgetting to wear sunscreen.  My shoulders and face got so sunburned!  My shoulders are really uncomfortable and a bit painful from it.  I am especially hating having to wear a bra to work, lol.

    Afternoon!  It's the first week of spring break.  Poor DefConn is bored.  I'm off most of next week to hang with him.  So we just need to make it through this one.

    Weekend was pretty good.  We had dinner with our friends M and L on Friday.  M is going through it at the moment because his ex is up to some fuckery and he's going to have to get a lawyer.  Good thing a mutual friend of ours, K (single, no kids, great job, rolling in $$), has already said he's gonna write the check for whatever M needs.  I never liked M's ex-wife, but she's making some shockingly selfish decisions that could have some real negative impact on their kids (they're not babies, they're 11 and 14).

    Saturday, we slept in late.  It was glorious.  DH got most of the painting done in our upstairs hallway until he ran out of paint.  I went to the store and watched some movies with DefConn.  We watched Richie Rich, the o.g. version.  Macauley Culkin was such a good child actor.  I never crushed on him because he looked like my cousin, but I've just always liked him as a kid actor (he popped up in this past season of 'Righteous Gemstones' and was totally delightful).

    Sunday we woke up earlier and made a proper breakfast for the first time in awhile (banana pancakes and sausage).  DH finished his paint job.  I cleaned out closets I've been bitching about for months and also purged my kitchen cabinets.  I did end up having to read the riot act to DefConn for kid bullshit.  I did kind of lay into him, so I apologized for yelling so much after I ran to drop off some donations.

    We've been watching F1: Drive to Survive.  It follows the 2021 season. It's actually pretty compelling, even though I'm just not a racing person for the most part.  However, the episode we watched last night focused on the Russian oligarch that bought into the Haas team last season and forced them to put his son in one of their cars.  They are just...bitchy assholes.  The son is clearly outmatched as driver by everyone and especially his other teammate, who is Michael Schumacher's son (the God of F1 racing). He whines so much.  Anyway watching it in the here and now, with what's going on in Ukraine and the fact that guys like this oligarch propped up Putin, is giving DH and me feelings.  Also, they dumped this guy and his son a couple weeks ago and Haas still did really well in the first race of the season...so it's nice to know they're fired and the money isn't needed. Fuck those guys.

    OH...and just got the news...Colts traded for Matt Ryan.  That was not on my bingo card in this QB mess.

    I really like you and don't think we're the same person but between the bourbon love and now this I'm amused.

    I'm married to a car lover.  If we lived closer to the Midwest DH wouldn't be an engineer for a ship building company.  Sundays are now race days and he lamented that he had to miss yesterday's race for church.  He watched the NASCAR one until it was dinner time and I've been to two or 3 races at Loudon with him.   Years ago he went to Indy an kissed the bricks but there was only a pedal bike race that day.

    Weekend was busy.  I made terrific corned beef and tonight I'm making slaw and sandwiches.
  • We just got back from Chicago a couple of hours ago. It was a good weekend. Weather was glorious yesterday and today - two trips to the parks for the boys. They are plugging away at our bathroom reno. Now I need to clean and prep for South Carolina. We leave Friday for two weeks. Hopefully they will get a ton of stuff done on the bathroom. I want to paint our powder bath and replace our pedestal sink with a vanity but don't know if that will get done before we leave. The contractors are replacing the toilet when they put in the MB toilet. I have such a list of house stuff to do.

    H and his best friend from college are big race fans. They went to F1 when it was here in Indy. They also go to the 500 and Brickyard every year (close to 39 years now). They will miss the 500 this year because our twice postponed trip to Italy will be over Memorial Day weekend. Originally the trip was in July 2020 then June 2021 no May/June of this year!

    Feeling your pain!  My western Mediterranean cruise, that has some stops in Italy, was originally supposed to be in May 2020.

    It has been postponed 3x.  Is now scheduled for June 2022 (crossing fingers!).
