Wedding Woes

Friyay

I don't think I have any plans for this weekend except sleeping, movie watching, and papercraft building.  I'm just glad it's the end of the weekend.

What's up for everyone else?

Re: Friyay

  • The kid activity thing is making me crazy this morning.  Wed night I had an email about a little league practice today and now I have an email about practice on Sunday.

I don't have any email about Chiquito's team assignment!  I'm trying to figure out WTF is going on now.  It's annoying and the attempt to balance activities now is frustrating.  Parents need good communication!!
  • Yay weekend! H is taking a half day today and will take his mom to do something this afternoon, so tonight will probably depend on that. I'm hoping tonight is take-out dinner and a movie on the couch. Tomorrow kind of depends on how long MIL stays, but I'm hoping to do some yard work and tackle the linen and bathroom closets. Sunday morning we have a 5k that I'm really excited about and then we're going out for a yummy brunch.

I'm hoping to not really do people this weekend. I'm kind of maxed out on social interactions right now.

@CharmedPam ugghhh that friend of yours has annoyed me before!

Busy weekend but all good things.  Later today is a tour of the local firehouse with DD's brownie troop, tomorrow is my niece's birthday party, Sunday morning is Palm Sunday + some nice extras at mass, and Sunday late afternoon is Palm Sunday dinner at my parents'.  STBXH gets the kids on Easter even years so we're sort of trying that this year, even though we're not divorced yet, so we won't see my family next Sunday.  I coordinated with my sisters and their IL plans when writing our custody agreement, even years are also their Easters with ILs, so my mom is going big with Palm Sunday this year (and even years in general).
  • LOL @CharmedPam

She thinks WALMART is the answer?  That's hilarious.  I can speak from DH's firsthand experience...They are shitty corporate overlords. Good luck.
  • Thank god this week is almost over. I'm putting my pajamas on as soon as I get home and will be vegging on the couch. Going to dinner tomorrow night for a friend's birthday and I have a million errands to run on Sunday.
  • @CharmedPam, does she live near a Costco? For that kind of "big box retail", I've heard they are so much better to work for.  Here in NOLA, they start people at least at $17/hour.  And we are a "lower than average income for the same job" kind of city.  But that is so weird she expects you to fill out her application.  That's a "So sorry, I have too much planned to help you with that"....as I turn on Hulu to scroll for what I want to watch next.

@mrsconn23, congrats to your BIL!  I think that sounds like a great and meaningful gift.

My new tenants are moving in tomorrow, but my H is handling it.  He and a buddy need to do some roof work for that property anyway, so they will be doing that also.

I also got a reprieve from finishing the Costco scanning today.  My H said we got enough done yesterday that he can finish it.  Yeah!  Free afternoon!

But I do have a goal for myself this weekend of more clean out of "stuff", especially in our bedroom.

  • @VarunaTT what are paper crafts? I keep picturing origami or paper airplanes.
@CharmedPam that person is no friend.
@MyNameIsNot have fun with your 5k!

Not a lot planned for the weekend. DH has us booked in at the community pool tomorrow morning. Since covid they have been on reduce capacity and require booking. I will probably try to sit it out and drink coffee at the cafe but I already feel guilty about not playing with DS.
I have some bananas that needed to become bread 3+ days ago so will make that happen at some point.
I have been playing around with the idea of going back to school aka going seriously for the first time and have taken the first step of obtaining the documentation from my former school district. I have this irrational fear of them telling me they have no records of xyz and I have to do high school all over again.

I think she does.  But she works retail now, and gets paid competitivly for it.  It’s not pay for her, it’s that she doesn’t get along with the people she works with.  So anyplace she goes to will have people she doesn’t get along with.  The last few years (since new guy came into the picture) she’s even been rude to me.  Her “bff”.
And it’s also the fact that she doesn’t know anything about my life in the last few years because she doesn’t call to talk or hangout. It’s only when she needs me to do something for her. I’m sure costco is also an apply online job too.  I don’t know many places with paper applications anymore?

But how did you know Hulu is my go to streaming app nowadays? Lol

People so rarely see what the "common denominator" is, lol.

Edited to add:  But, generally speaking, I've heard Costco is a good employer with positive work places.  That they do more for their employees than the competition.  Including having better pay and benefits, but it isn't just that.

  • @missJeanLouise You aren't far off.  I don't think I have any of my pics right now, but this is what I'm working on making:

  • Hooray for the weekend!  I am planning to do a deep clean of my house as much as I can, so that when I clean it next weekend for Easter it is spic and span.  And I have to ready my spare room for a new rabbit ... I can only deal with people treating a rabbit poorly for so long, and this rabbit has been sitting waiting to be adopted for three months.  All of the rabbits that came in with her already got adopted, and it has just been her, waiting .... I can have one more I suppose.

@CharmedPam Gee, if you are filling out applications I could have used you when I was applying for jobs!  Your friend sounds like a peach.  I mean, it is tedious to fill out an application but it is so important to do it yourself because a) you learn more about the company through the application process and b) you know yourself better and c) if you get an interview they will probably talk about your answers, so how will that interview go if your friend lets slip that someone else filled out the answers for her?

  • I feel like there’s something unethical about asking someone else to fill out a job application @CharmedPam
