Wedding Woes

Monday

Happy Monday!

It was a decent weekend.  I saw Uncharted with L, friend from work (that I asked out).  It was casual, basically I wanted to see Uncharted and was going; he said something about wanting to see it and I had enough credits for a free tickets, so invited him.  The very words out of my mouth were, "Regardless of my previous invitation, this is something I'm doing anyway, you are welcome to join me and I have free credits to use."  He seemed fine at the time.  However, man gave off super intense awkward energy the entire time of the movie and I was all **headtilt** about it.  Listen friend, if you want to revisit the boundary you set, let a lady know, but otherwise, you're gonna need to get this under control!!  I also hit 2:00 on the split on my rowing machine.  I'm proud of that, but I'm definitely feeling it in my muscles today.

I'm taking my anti depressant down to 5mg today.  I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it goes well.  I'm feeling much better these days and I think the 10mg was making me a bit manic happy/energetic and that's not sustainable.  I'm not ready emotionally to go all the way off, so hopefully 5mg works and I can sit here for awhile.  I also started all of the additional allergy medications the allergist gave me.  I feel like a pill head in the mornings now, with everything I'm taking.  I'm happy that modern medicine can replace all the stuff my body needs that it doesn't make, but also this is bullshit and modern medicine needs to work on giving me a new body, this one is trash, and I'd like a refund/new product, please.

Re: Monday

  • Wow, @climbingsingle, I am so sorry.  IDK what is going on lately, but the number of people in my life having to deal with creepy men has skyrocketed.  I'd call your cell phone company and make sure that they didn't give it out and check to make sure it's not somehow accessible on FB?  Sometimes I feel like random privacy settings change on FB, so I check mine every few months.  Are you going to fill out a police report?

I definitely don't have my number listed on FB. I can't think of how he got it. He does have connections at Verizon, and N said apparently if you pay for a White Pages membership, you can find people's numbers.

I'm on the fence about going to the police. He didn't threaten my safety, so I have a feeling they're going to tell me there's nothing they can do.
  • Oh no @climbingsingle, that's awful and so scary.
That sucks that L was awkward @VarunaTT

Weekend was all right.  Friday was a Costco run.  We watched the first ep of Outer Range (new Prime show) and it was slow to start, but the end had DH and I almost jumping off our seats.

Saturday, DH worked on the guest room painting job. I did a bunch of running around since I literally had nothing for Easter.  The rest of the day was prep work for Easter and cooking.

Sunday, we made brunch.  The kiddo and his gf came over.  I guess FIL was under the weather so he didn't show up.  :: shrug :: We went to dad's for dinner and did an egg hunt with the kids.

In 'what the shit?!', it snowed about a quarter inch overnight.  It will be 80 on Saturday.
  • @VarunaTT, I'm sorry the movie was awkward with L.  I hope your allergy pills help you out and congrats on lowering your anti depressant.  Hopefully, that will be a better level.

@climbingsingle, I'm sorry to hear your ex called.  It sounds really upsetting.  If I remember correctly, you already had to change your phone number so he would stop harassing you.  At least it happened after N was back in town.

Friday and Saturday were delightfully relaxing!  I posted my rental ad up on Sunday.  It had a slow start and I was a little worried.  Hoped it was just because of Easter.  But then it turned into the usual torrent.  Phew!  Stressful, but so much better than crickets.

Good luck to my H!  He's the one handling the showings today and I think it's going to be an onslaught.  We do "open house" style showings, but I only set it up for a one hour timeframe.  I should have done a two hour timeframe.  Eeek!

Other than that, it's a busy day at work.  I have a something urgent to get out today, but at least am making good progress.

Yup, he kept shutting my phone off even after I changed my number, which he was able to do because he had the serial number to the phone. I had to buy a new phone last year to get him to stop doing that. And yes I'm so glad that N was home AND that I hadn't been drinking..lol. Because if I'd had a glass or two of wine in me when that happened, I probably would have had an overreaction.
  • @VarunaTT urg that sucks about movie. Maybe L is just unsure about the boundary they set? But agreed, L needs to speak up

@climbingsingle urg that's awful and creepy. Glad it didn't entirely ruin your weekend.

@short+sassy Luck to your H & for your work!

    Weekend was good.
Thursday BK was with SFIL all day. They had a great day. Walked up to the store to pick a card for MIL {her bday was Friday} Then I guess she was tired, so she actually asked SFIL if he could bring her home.
M still wfh so when SFIL called, BK was sitting on the front step with her back ready to go lmao
Within 5min, she fell asleep on the couch. Since M was working, he let her sleep until I got home.

Friday we did dinner at my mum's with a brief stop at my granny's place. She wanted to show BK all the easter decor she did. She's always been that person to decorate for holidays and she loves that there's another little one to show them to.
Dinner was good. Since my mum knew BK wouldn't eat the ham, she made some spaghetti for her.
BK didn't fall asleep until like 945 *sigh*

Saturday was dinner with IL's - not typical easter dinner because belated bday dinner for MIL. We had ribs, rice and corn.
BK had a hot dog cooked with diana sauce {so it was caramelized} and some rice.
They did a little easter egg hunt for BK - with watering can to carry eggs - and then she got a fun little plastic vanity, with some books and a new bunny.
She ate too much chocolate, so by the time we got her home and in bath she was melting down.

Sunday - we did our easter. I got bunny foot prints to basically follow from the stairs to the living room with some treats on the way.
    She got {spread out} a frozen egg with tattoos, bows, hat, pjs, chalk, bubble machine and a giant hollow doggy {we're gonna break that up so she can have a bit at a time lol}

BK is at IL's today because MIL doesn't see her much and M & I work.
  • @climbingsingle that’s some bullshit.  Maybe he got it from someone you consider a friend? If it’s so new, a year, I’d think it takes longer to go up online.  But I dunno, that’s probably not the case anymore.
@VarunaTT, I’m also wondering why he accepted?
@mrsconn23 we had that too! And 78 on Sat.  WtW?

i’m at the doctors now.  Running late.  Per usual. I also wfh in the morning and realized why I had so much praise in my last review. The counterparts in my position, which covered for me while I was away are probably the most lazy people I’ve met. All my work they didn’t finish they threw back at me. Ummm no. It doesn’t work like that in our office. You finish what you start. So when they were comparing me to those ladies - that bar was very low. Lol.

  • I'm rather meh on figuring out what goes on in a man's mind.  So far, there aren't any red flags and the one person at work who knows is convinced that L wants to go out (and had been saying so long before I really considered L a viable dating candidate), but is saying no b/c of work, and is fumbling the entire matter at this point.  There's obviously some emotional maturity there, b/c it was a sweet and kind rejection, but maybe he's still a work in progress.

I'm just watching the show at this point, b/c I'm confident in what **I** would like to do, but I'm going to respect the boundary he put up too and keep on with myself.
  • Well that was really disheartening :(.

I replied back to over 100 FB messages between yesterday and today.  With dozens of people told when the showings were today.  Not everyone replied back, of course.  But quite a few people did.

Only 3 people showed up and only one of them took an application!  Didn't even fill it out and leave it.  Took it to "send later", which almost never happens.  Oh well. I'm not going to quite worry yet.  We've rented it out before to good folks, even with few showings and applications turned in.

As an aside, not counting my personal duplex, our rentals are in two different parts of town.  The areas are called East NOLA and the Westbank (because it's on the other side of the MS River from NOLA prime).

My H and I don't really understand it, but showings are a totally different experience for those two areas.  We always have a higher percentage of no shows for East NOLA and much fewer applications, though it isn't usually this bad.  Whereas for the Westbank, our showings and applications turned in are like gangbusters.  It is a somewhat more desirable area, but not by that much.  Similar fairly low crime rates.

  • @short+sassy that's a bummer. I'm sorry.
  • It’s snowing again. WTF I’m done with this weather.
  • It does sound late in the year for snow.  The weather needs to look at the calendar and realize it's mid-April.

I'll try to send the sunshine and spring weather to all the Northern Knotties.

  • Random Monday interjection.........wasn't there someone not too long ago that said they had an incident with a refrigerator and the door simply falling off??

  • We woke up to snow in Chicago and came home in the rain. The weekend was good full of birthday celebrations. The one year old didn't want to share his presents with his big brothers- big surprise. The older two are learning that he has his own stuff too. Easter morning H and I went to a church in town. DD and her family haven't been going to church since the pandemic started. She has been very hesitant since her kiddos can't be vaccinated yet. H and I found a church of our denomination and went. It was lovely. We usually go to DD's church (Catholic) when we are there but since they didn't go, we went to a church where we could take communion. I made deviled eggs to have with dinner.  One of the twins ate 5! He loved them. The other didn't like them this year (he loved them last year) and the baby ate one. They all devoured the ham.

We are home for a couple of days then off to a meeting in PA and stopping to see DS1 and DIL on the way home.

  • @charlotte989875 - wasn't it your fridge door that came off?
