It’s my Friday today!

Oh, it’s everyone elses too?

Just came back from a pointless doctors appt.  My general practitioner referred me to the eye, nose throat specialist for my ongoing earache.  He couldn’t find anything wrong either! The frustration of it all!

Other than that, SSDD. Tomorrow I have a wine tasting/pizza outing with a meetup. I’m debating on doing the meetup movie (Nicolas Cage one), but it’s at the smelly theatre I don’t have a pass for and there’s no dinner before and after so I’m wondering how “social” it really is. Other than that, recoupe recoupe recoupe.

LOL yes it is Friday! Happy Earth Day!

I just went through all the pants and skirts in the closet in preparation of moving all back into our closet when the reno is done. Ugh so many things that no longer fit! I threw out things that I know I will never get back into but kept stuff that was "if I lost 10 pounds" they would fit. It was so depressing! I've put on so much weight in the last 2 years. some of the things I'm getting rid of are practically new and never worn or only worn once.

I still need to go through dresses. I also Have a cabinet to go through so that is my chore for the weekend. H and I are feeling fine. I had a PCR test this morning. H will schedule one today or tomorrow. Since we are traveling at the end of next  month and could still test positive, we want documentation of when we tested positive in case we are positive when we try to come home. The doctor said you are only contagious for the 7-10 days from exposure/symptoms. Hope it works.

    Have a great weekend everyong.

    Hahah...the post title confused me.

Heading into the city after work. Very excited!

I can't remember if I told you guys this, but when N was away last week, I had to take care of feeding the chickens. I ended up locking myself inside the coop..haha. I thankfully was able to free myself. I had to go feed them again, and was very much mindful of not locking myself in. However, I left the gate open too wide and Stella came wandering in behind me. She will not be meeting the chickens so I had to get her out. Was so occupied with that that I didn't realize a freaking wasp was in the metal container we keep the chicken feed it. I got stung and fuck did that hurt!

So yeah. So far no good luck with the chickens..lol.

It's my Friday too! Not a whole lot going on this weekend. I've got to get the grass cut tonight. Probably a hike tomorrow and I want to work on some organizing closets. We're going to the beach next weekend, so I need to figure out if I have stuff that fits. Maybe a date night. Hopefully time to read and just chill.

Climbing, you crack me up with that! Going from a city apartment to feeding chickens must be a bit of culture shock for you.

I'm at work, but honestly I'm not focused at all and I'm just surfing the web, waiting for 1:30.  The MRI did find a mass on the pancreas.  The doctor called last night while I was over at my mother's, and said he definitely believes it is pancreatic cancer.  They are doing an endoscopy needle biopsy today at 2:15, so I'll be at the hospital for that.  Mom says it's to confirm the diagnosis, I suspect it's to stage the cancer, that the diagnosis is already confirmed.  The biopsy is double booked today, so it may or may not happen.  If not today, tomorrow. Then they'll let him come home with "comfort care", which I'm assuming will mean hospice.  I'm trying to make sure I'm there for the discharge appointment.  I think my mother will advocate for herself, but I'm worried about her managing any care for him at home and intaking information. She is also elderly and has an old injury that would keep her from doing anything physical for him.

The family "bush" that I have (vs. a family tree) is seeming to stay tame for right now.  I had a family bomb dropped on me last night that I just wanted to yell at my aunt P, "I don't really need this right now, and keep your goddamn mouth shut about it", b/c it's definitely information (if true, I actually doubt it) that would pit my other aunt T, against me.  This extended family is about to have a cold stark realization that I am an entire grown adult and I am not going to be pushed around.

I'm going to go see The Batman on the big screen this weekend.  I really enjoyed it on HBO and I think it's a big screen kind of movie.  I also want to catch Anything Anywhere All At Once, so it might just be a movie weekend.

    Varuna, I'm so sorry.

OH @VarunaTT, my heart is aching for you and your family.  This no-man's land between dx, suspicion, and action plan is just such a mind-fuck.

That chicken coop story is equal parts funny and horrifying, @climbingsingle

I wish it was a 'real' Friday for me, but I work tomorrow.  At least Saturdays are extremely low-key.   DH is going to help FIL install floors in his guest room.

Not sure about Sunday except sleeping in.

@VarunaTT I'm so sorry, for all of it.

@CharmedPam, I probably wouldn't go to that movie outing, since it's just the movie and a theatre you don't have a pass for and don't like.  I'm sorry they didn't find a reason for your earache.  I hope it goes away on its own soon.

Not an earache, but I had dizzy spells for about 6 months that neither of the two doctors I saw for it had an explanation for.  I never fainted from one, but there were a couple times it felt close and I was hurrying to a chair!  But then it just disappeared one day and hasn't returned (so far).  Wow!  I just did the "math".  That was about 10 years ago.  I was initially thinking it was just a few years ago, lol.

@VarunaTT, I'm sorry to hear that it's looking like bad news.  I hope they are able to do the biopsy today, so you all are able to get more answers.

Super busy, super stressful week.  My work day is finally done!  Though I have a few reference calls I need to make from rental applications.  Then go to the bank.  Then finish my Costco scanning.  Then head back home and HOPE I have enough time to make MORE reference calls, lol.

I hate to be mean, but most of the applications have been immediate "no's" and a few "maybe's".  I have one strong "yes", as long as her work checks out.  But I wasn't able to get in touch with HR yesterday.

She's a Section 8 participant, which is always a struggle for me to decide on.  I love the Section 8 program and prefer tenants who are in it.  But a major "con" of it is that I can get other tenants into the unit by May 1st and already paying rent.  But S8 takes FOREVER for all their processing.  It's 6-8 week process and they don't pay "back rent".  In fact, I don't even let the applicant move in, until the process is done. That's a tough pill to swallow!  But, once it's over, the rental income is stable.  And S8 tenants tend to be long-term.  Sacrificing for now for (possibly) a better situation, going forward.

I got locked in a chicken coop once!  But it was my brother who locked me in as a prank, and then he didn't come back.  I was a kid, so I crawled out through the door to the outside enclosure and I was able to get out from there.  The next time he did it, I was prepared - I figured out how to take off a panel by the door to reach the latch.  Ah, memories.
I'm glad you were able to free yourself, but I hope it didn't involve crawling on your hands and knees through chicken poop like me first escape did.

@VarunaTT I'm sorry about your dad, and I hope that they are able to fit in his appointment today so that you have answers sooner.  Pancreatic cancer is a hard one.  And then to have family drama thrown in on top of that - hugs.

@CharmedPam That is annoying to just be referred again.  I hope you get another appointment quick to get to the bottom of the issue.  Getting bounced between practitioner's and specialists is so annoying.  Hubby is going through that right now - it's been 3 or 4 years now, and his problem isn't even as bad anymore as when it started, so he might give up.

Oh man! I'm glad you were able to get out! N said his kids used to lock each other in the coop when they were younger. Thankfully I was able to squeeze my hand through the chicken wire to reach the latch. But yeah, there was a good 30 seconds where I panicked, especially when I realized I didn't have my phone on me!

So far it's mild with some aches and oddly restless sleep.

Kids have stayed negative thus far but if they get it it's such a PITA with their school exclusions.  So we are trying to stay away from them and let them eat in front of the TV.

If there was anything "cute" about testing positive, DH ran up to me and gave me a huge hug because now we couldn't spread it more.

    Silver linings!

But sorry to hear you are positive also.  I hope it stays mild and you are feeling better soon.

    For reals!

So far I have mild aches and took Tylenol Saturday night only.  This feels mostly annoying and I can understand why people who would feel this way would power through and go to work.

I'm truly annoyed and pissed but as the kid of an Irish mother who suscribed to the philosophy of "if it isn't on fire or falling off you're going to school" then I can see that in THIS case where it feels like spring allergies and the buds are on the trees and my black van looks like it's auditioning for a Blind Melon video - it's not so bad.  Sleeping is weird and I find that I'm more restless and having more dreams.

DH is cleared to return to work tomorrow assuming all goes well and I'm now on day 2 of isolating.

Because of DD's job she has to test before working. All three of her boys have tested positive but so far she and SIL have tested negative. So it can happen that some people are positive in the household but others are negative. Unfortunately their Nanny got it also and is very sick with it. H and I still have allergy like symptoms.

The way it flows for kids is that test is day 0.  They're stuck home for days 1-5.  Days 5-10 they can return to school and some activities but likely not anything that involves heavy breathing like sports or music (for my Chiquita who sings or if you play an instrument with your mouth).  If Chiquito gets this early next week he's likely not able to make his 1st Communion which would be so sad.

@banana that is the same for adults according to CDC guidelines. I sincerely hope that Chiquito stays negative so that he can make his first Communion.
