Wedding Woes

It's Tuesday

Hope everyone's goes smoothly.  Had a tough-but-needed-to-happen convo with STBXH last night.  Otherwise pretty SSDD.

Re: It's Tuesday

  • @ei34 I hope the conversation went the way you needed it to.

I'm TIRED but it's likely the result of a later night and some much needed frisky time with DH.  The rainy day here is making me want a nap.  I'm hoping that this starts to move out fast. It's effectively day 3 since my pos test and I'll feel better if the kids can still stay symptom free by the weekend.
  • @ei34, I also hope there was some progress with your STBXH.

@banana468, good luck to the kids staying symptom free.

I signed up for Walmart Plus in December of last year.  Mainly for the free "same day delivery".  Except the two previous times I tried placing an order, the earliest delivery time was 4 and 3 days later, respectively.  That's useless for me.

But an emergency came up yesterday.  Sorry for the TMI, but my period started and I had forgotten to buy more tampons.  I had enough to get me through about two days, but needed to get to the store.  I decided to try same day delivery again.  It actually worked this time!  While I was at it, I ordered some items off our grocery list.

That kind of convenience was pretty great and they may have brought me back over to their side.  I'll have to try it again and see what happens.

However, I do need to give one caveat.  I placed my order before 9am and the only two delivery times left were 7pm-8pm or 8pm-9pm.  I suspect if I would have waited much longer, the delivery wouldn't have been until the next day.

  • DH dropped our truck off at the dealership to see what's up with the air conditioning.  It went out last year, but we limped it along by charging it every couple weeks.  I'm hoping it's just a hose leak, but we'll see.  I don't trust our luck, heh.

Hope everything went OK with STBXH @ei34.

Normal noises around here. Day off tomorrow.  I may have to take DH to work if the car isn't done today (I would have to get him from work tonight too).

  • Got my allergy shots today.  The same arm is already developing a welt, so IDK which shot it is that's giving me the issue.  I also forgot my damn meds today, but I have benadryl on me.  Just hoping it doesn't get worse.  This had better work for me.  Also, Tuesday at 8 am had a waiting room with very attractive people in it, so we'll be trying to make this time happen again.  Yes, I'm thirsty AF right now.

Nothing else to report.  Just grinding at work and trying to be healthy.

  • I hope the conversation was productive, Ei. Or really, I hope he had a moment of lucidity and decided to GTFO.

SSDD for me. One of my work projects is ramping up and getting busy. I'm happy to be busy, but I'm annoyed by how much of the busy-ness is caused by vendor procrastination and error.

I'm hopping we get a little rain today. The pollen is thick.
  • I hope the tough convo proves to be beneficial in getting stbx on his way out @ei34

    super cute @charlotte989875
  • I'm in meeting hell today, I'm on one right now and have 3 back to back to back so no break until 2pm. Ugh.  I should have grabbed a snack, will have to go off camera at some point so my stomach doesn't growl while I present!
  • Things are tough here.  DH has chronic pain and is having his 3 month back injection on Friday.  He's been terrible to live with for the past week.  Nothing is right, flies off the handle at nothing, etc.  It doesn't work to talk to him about it when he's this bad so the CTJ talk will need to wait.  In the meantime, I just have to deal.

I have my second booster on Thurs after work.  Hoping for just a sore arm and no other side effects.

Our friends will be in town this weekend visiting her Mom.  Hoping to get together with them on Friday night for a bit.  We'll see how things work out.

They look nice @charlotte989875 I'm getting closer to reading glasses too
@VarunaTT when I started immunotherapy it took my arm a couple months to adjust.  The shots themselves changed my life.
  • @charlotte989875 those look great on you! Suits you!
@banana468 here’s hoping your family is on the tail end of things
@short+sassy, I always wondered about walmart plus. So far I’ve gotten good service with the p/u and there’s one on my way home I’ve always been able to plan for, so never but that bullet
@ei34, hopefully your last days (let’s be positive and say days in this case) with him are better now.

Someone told me about doing my own acrylics and I purchased a kit. I was able to do them yesterday but wanted to wear them a day before coloring. I think I need to go back and make them thicker, because the layer is kinda thin. But honestly for a first timer, I was pretty impressed with my work. I want to stop going to the salon because they’re so rough with my nails and it hurt so much when she took them off last time. Plus costs are going up too. If I can do them at 1/4 of the price… well… then I am.

@ei34 sending good vibes for you with your STBXH situation
@charlotte989875 those are super cute!  It it makes you feel any better, i'm 34 and have been wearing prescription reading glasses for 13 years.....I also have distance glasses because i refuse to wear bifocals until I'm "old enough"

Work is insane. My boss recently was promoted to running 2 divisions instead of just one.  They're now hiring for a mid-level manager in my division.  Exactly the type of job i've been casually looking for the last couple years.  Except with G's diagnosis I don't know if i can realistically even go for the promotion - it would require more travel and in general just being the go-to person for literally everything in this department.  Currently i'm the back up.  I can do and have done everything that would be required, but the timing just seems horrible.

H has been in a mood lately and i'm over it.

My parents are visiting this weekend and i'm excited to see them.  The boys are too!
  • I'm stuck in the box.

@charlotte989875 those glasses look great on you
@ei34 I hope the conversation was productive

SSDD here. I have a third call with a recruiter tomorrow afternoon. Crossing all my fingers that this leads to a new job. My boss gave me a raise and a bonus last week but it's just not enough to keep me here.

The closest one to my house doesn't have p/u.  And it's also not "close enough" to be convenient for me.  I have to go out of my way, to go to it.  Not majorly so.  But my tolerance for running errands has a short fuse, lol.

It's a lot like p/u, as far as reliability goes.  There were a few items I ordered that were "out of stock".  There was one item they substituted, but I was only give 40 minutes to say "yay or nay".  Luckily, I caught it in time to accept it.  Because it was the stupid tampons that were the most important part of and whole reason for the order to begin with, lol.

The only reason I pulled the trigger on the Plus membership to begin with is because I had an offer from Amex to get $50 back, if I charged the annual membership to the card.  Back then, the price was $99/year.  Effectively making it $49 for me.  That was just a no-brainer to try it!

However, now they've raised the price going forward to $149/year.  I'm not sure I'd pay that for it.  But, we'll see.  I'm going to try to use it more and see if it can help me with more meal planning.  It's faster and easier to be looking at my computer for some recipes to try, and then add the ingredients to my online Walmart cart, as I go.

The Plus also gives prescription discounts and gas discounts.  But those are pfft for me.  I checked all my prescriptions...and I have quite a few...but only one of them had any discount.  And that discount was a whopping $1.30.  And most of the Walmarts where I live don't have gas stations.  The couple I know of that do are in the suburbs and nowhere near where I live.

  • @charlotte989875 they do look really cute! @ei34 I hope the conversation with STBX helps.

The tile is done in the bathroom. Tomorrow they are doing the template for the counter top. We are in the last week or so! Unfortunately it won't be in time for DD and family's visit. We can work it all out for sleeping arrangements but it will just be a little different. DS2 is also coming Mother's Day weekend so that he can see me and his sister/nephews. Tomorrow H and I can go out with masks on!!! I'm realizing how I like to just pop out to run errands on a daily basis! Oh well we are just thankful that it was such a mild case. Hope the same is true for you @banana468.
