One of my co-workers had said it was a good day for day-drinking. I now concur. I live in a state with a trigger law and I'm just sick to my stomach.
I have a haircut appointment tomorrow, where I'll figure out how I'll be growing out this haircut. Sunday is The Fifth Element. Nothing much else and I think that's good. I'm basically trying not to cry at my desk right now.
I thought we were evolving and getting smarter as a species? I don’t see that. Edit: that comment was about the gun decision made yesterday, I didn’t even know Roe v Wade was announced before I posted that. Ugh! But my original comment still stands. I’m so sleepy. A nap is in order sometime today. I had a great night at game night. Someone brought Liars Dice to the meet-up and I already have one being delivered here on Monday, and a kids version of it to my nieces on Wednesday. I need more of these gaming days in my life. I need real actual friends so I don’t have to wait for meet-ups.
One of my BFF co-workers is also greatly upset and came into my office. We were talking about work and she said, "Everything now is a Monday problem, I'm not even sure I'm coming back after lunch." I might make a sign about that, "It's waiting until Monday".
We're getting our dryer next week and someone suggested something like wool balls or something for the dryer? Is this instead of dryer sheets or with? Also what do they do?

Dryer balls replace dryer sheets. Woolen ones are more environmentally friendly vs. items that are synthetic. They bounce through the dryer and reduce static/friction in your fabrics so items come out dry and without static. By using them it reduces the waxy buildup inside the dryer vents so you don't need to wash them as frequently either. You still need to remove the dryer fuzz but the accumulation of that waxy buildup from the dryer sheets is what prevents air flow and can contribute to dryer fires.
I started using them before Chiquito was born and also use a fragrance free detergent and no child has reported a problem. The only thing that is a frustrating issue is that the balls get stuck in pants or the corners of duvet covers.

We have used Tide Free & Gentle since BK was born. Added to my cart
Tbh I thought that's what the balls were for but wasn't sure.

Note: BK has sensitive skin so I want to be sure they're also good for that {we already use unscented items}
I dont' think they do a great job at removing static, but they help clothes dry faster and keep things (towels in particular) a little softer and fluffier. I still use dryer sheets about half the time.
I had margaritas at lunch and have a busy day of investor calls ahead. Not sorry.
I emailed my boss (our Chief Diversity Officer) and asked if we are putting out a statement. Feels like the little things I can do right now.
I wish I wouldn't get laughed out of the building if I asked that. My company is run by middle aged rich white republican men. I once got in an argument with our former CFO (while pretty tipsy, i admit) about abortion rights. That was fun. *eye roll*
@misskittydanger, the wool dryer balls don't really reduce static, but they can reduce drying time. I have Norwex ones. I love them for sheets and towels in particular. I've been told the key to cutting down on the static when using them is not to over dry the clothes - which most of us do. Wash and dry like weight items together so they dry consistently and take them out as soon as they are dry - it will take some experimenting to figure that out for your dryer and clothes.
The rest of the day - what can I say. My college gals text thread has been blowing up all day. Such a huge step back in time.
Ok dumb question from someone who hasn't used a dryer in like a decade - is static a big issue?
I really only see it as an issue with synthetic items. On occasion with the wool balls I'll still see a sock clinging to some polyester shirt or the lining of a skirt but we don't wear a ton of synthetic fibers or I air dry those that are frequently worn (like workout clothing) so that's not an issue for me.
I use dryer balls and I've not had any noticeable issues with static. We really only deal with it in the dry air/winter months.
I find for workout wear/synthetic items that using detergent + borax (I sprinkle borax right on the clothes once I toss them in the washer...I actually put half the clothes in, sprinkle some and then load it the rest of the way) takes care of any funk. Also, I only use fabric softener on cotton items (tshirts, towels, jeans, etc.). We have well water, which we have a filter and water softener, but we still have to use the right combo so laundry doesn't get funky.

Shock and anger.

Are these the same idea?
