Wednesday seems to be my new "I can't do this" day.  I'm also a week away from my period, so I'm basically trying to not cry all the time right now.

Nothing much going on.  There has been an on-going drama with one of my co-workers, b/c he's lazy, not very smart, and beyond the misogyny regularly on display in this office, there's no reason he should still be employed here at all.  He is part of a very wealthy and well-known family in my city.  Well, he just made a very big mistake for one of the highest producers here and all I heard was, "Go be a fvcking trust fund baby somewhere else!"  So, i'm interested in seeing how this plays out.  I didn't feel like working, so I'll just watch all the drama.

    LOL @ 'go be a trust fund baby'.  That has to be very cathartic to yell at someone like that.  

    SSDD.  Just biding my time until I'm off for 5 days.  Wahoo.  I'm leaving soon to have lunch with my dad.  DH's crazy aunt (and her husband, who's OK) is in town for the US Nationals (drag racing) and wants to get together tonight.  I have no interest in seeing her and we have a lot to do to be ready to leave tomorrow night after DH gets home from work.  So I'm hoping DH tells her we're just too busy.  We saw them in June, so...yeah.

    We did order new camping cots and they came yesterday.  DefConn and I set them up in the living room and laid on them to watch TV last night.  They are pretty damn sturdy.  Hopefully they're comfortable to sleep on for an entire night, or 4.

    New cots!  I'm flirting with getting a new one - Hubby uses his for larp but there is a whole in the pump up mattress.  I would prefer a cot that doesn't need to be pumped up.  is that what you got?

    The memorial for a friend of mine was just announced, and fortunately it is before I have a training class at work so I should be able to go.  Sort of pissed at my work for, in response to asking for the time off, said that as long as I have nothing scheduled that day, I can go.  Ummm ... maybe don't schedule me for stuff that day so I can go?

    Yesterday we had my parent’s friends come over and had a great time.  No loud bars! I popped in some trader joe’s apps and it was great.  Mom and Dad got drunk! My Dad’s a lightweight and I haven’t seen him like that in forever.
    tonight is a new group of friends but non drinking ones and an early night to boot. We’re going to an Italian place they always pick when we meet and I’m super unimpressed by the whole place.  But it’s her bday and she picked it.

    My labs came back.  Glucose # was down but A1c is up.  @short+sassy I guess I have to focus on the a1c right? I have no idea how it could be up. The only lifestyle change I could possibly make is no carbs at all, and I think that’s unrealistic.  I do a low amount- but it’s like usually nutrisystem wheat and low glycemic breads and pastas made for diabetics.  Ugh.

    @CharmedPam sounds like they had a fun time!

    Ssdd here. DS got a haircut today. He looks cute but I always notice shit once we get home. It looks fine there but now the fade looks super rough. I take him to the kids salon but I might try a regular place next time.
    DD goes for more shots tomorrow. I am curious to see what she weighs because it might be time to get her a new car seat, even though I think DS was 1 before he got into his.
    Update on BIL incase anyone wants to know. I guess he wasn't diagnosed with bacterial meningitis, that is just what they think it might be but they really don't know. They had to put him on oxygen because he started breathing 40x a minute. He is able to drink water now and is able to answer questions about who and where he is, he asked to see his dog. DH is finally dealing with some of his emotions about the situation, or at least admitting to having some.

    @ei34, I am so glad it's finally over!  At least it happened in time for you all to have the long weekend to move back home.  Cheers to a new and better chapter in your life!

    @CharmedPam, sorry to hear about the worse a1c.  Unfortunately, it's just one of those diseases where you sometimes need to give yourself some grace.  If you're already doing the best you can, you're doing the best you can.  And there is sometimes no explanation for why BGs do what they do.  But sounds like last night was fun with the fam!

    I had a bad night last night.  I woke up at 3am and couldn't get back to sleep, which is unusual for me.  I took a sick day and was feeling horrible all morning.  I've been strong and didn't take a nap, because that would have ruined me for a second night.  I finally started feeling better in the afternoon.

    On the bright side, my good friend and neighbor C is back from her remote job and invited me over for dinner tonight.  She's a production assistant in film and tv and sometimes spends months in LA or on location in other places.  For this last project, she was in New Mexico for the whole summer.  I joked to her that, normally it would be awesome to be away from the South for the hell that summer is here.  But I don't think NM is much improvement!

    Thanks @short+sassy.  After I looked at it, I realized a1c had gone down from my last LAB blood draw… but gone up from my in office blood take.. where they do it on the spot… so maybe that’s the difference? One was fasting and one I didn’t need to fast for?

    Hope you feel better! I was up at 4 on Tuesday so I feel your pain.  Not being able to go back to sleep because it’s to late to take something is the pits.

    Finally made it to the pool this afternoon. When we first started out a short storm started so we went back to the cottage and waited it out. Then we spent a couple of hours there. DS1 and DIL arrived around lunch time so they came with us. Tonight is dinner at a friend's house. This place has a poorly stocked kitchen so I am taking salad fixings to toss in a bowl at her house.
