Long weekend for us.

I had a bit of a meltdown on I think Saturday?
Body image issues.
My gyno basically said the reason of my weight gain is because metabolism dropped due to age and not IUD related.

So now I just feel fat and miserable.
Anyways I try to very much hide it because I very much do not want to project anything on BK
{to be clear, this is a me issue and not anything my mum did}
So I was talking to M about this and I started crying - BK comes over and wipes my tears going "Oh no, it's okay sweetie"
Then trods over to M and says "Daddy, you shouldn't make mama sad. You need to use your listening ears and not talk. Mama is upset"
Like .... giving him crap thinking he's cause of me being upset.
We explained that sometimes you can be sad and it's okay. That I was sad and we were just talking, I wasn't upset because M did anything.
BK just did not believe him though lol and even the next day she was giving him crap about me being upset. Lmao!

Resolving it by right now going for more walks, and after M is done with his trainer {after xmas} he's offered to pay my gym membership for a few months. I can pay once my loan is done, and he said at least it'll make me feel better because he knows I wanna join.

Sunday BIL and SIL ended up coming for dessert. We were hesitant but it turned out well.
M said if BIL wants to move past it, that's fine.

Monday we were suppose to see my mum, but she got the virus BK had. We're going to see her this weekend for dinner.

@MissKittyDanger, I'm sorry to hear you've been unhappy with your body image. A slow metabolism is a bitch and I wish I had better words of wisdom. BK is such a sweet girl! It's so cute how she repeats back the same phrases that I'm sure you both say to her.

October Prime Days is a bust for me, so far. I've found a few things, but not as much as I usually do. But I finally pulled the trigger on a dog DNA test. It's more expensive than I was expecting, $127 and that's with the sale, but it also includes testing for genetic markers that can show a predisposition to various medical issues. And apparently they have a database that can match your dog to its relatives.

Our dog has the coloring of a Boston Terrier and some of the face shape, but is slightly stockier/bigger and has medium length coarse fur. Where do you get your long fur from, Izzy???? Where does that come from? I have always wondered, lol. And now I will know in about 6 weeks!

I looked into it about 10 years ago when we first got her but, back then, they didn't seem very accurate. But from what I've read, the technology has gotten much better and the accuracy is 90%+. The Embark one that is on special has 4.5 stars with almost 15K reviews.

I’m an aunt to my 4th nephew today. Bro and SIL have 4 boys now. Lol. I joked with my bro “you really like making those boys, huh?”. Anyway because the baby a premmie, he’s in the NICU with tubes/IV’s/meds to open his lungs - so we’re not in the clear yet. The great news is, no blindness or deafness and he had a 10% chance of that. Momma is doing well and was able to visit the NICU already (it was 4:33 a.m).

My friend had some recipes published in a cookbook and there’s a premiere party tonight she invited me to. Thing is, it’s downtown Chicago, and I don’t drive downtown (and she knows this!), so I told her I was busy when I’m not. She wanted me to drive there last night but I had a LONG day & drive, so I was like “somewhere close to the city maybe?” But our decision ran on too late and we couldn’t meet up.

@CharmedPam, yay, congrats! Your poor SIL must feel so outnumbered, lol. I'm glad to hear she is doing well and your new nephew doesn't have any sight or hearing issues. I hope he's in the clear soon and continues to get stronger.

Congrats also to your friend! It's a shame you can't make the party. But driving in the downtown area of a big city is not for the faint of heart!

Oh prime days! Thanks for the reminder! I bet this is why raketen went up in % on their app! I did some shopping yesterday through that. It cosmetics, olay (new moisturizer came out) and yeah another pair of jeans from spanx because they went up to 15% off on raketen and that’s the best I’ll get.

@CharmedPam Congrats on being an aunt again, so exciting! I think my aunt days are over .... but my sister had three boys, so I get the whole being outnumbered. I'm glad even though he is early that he seems to be doing well.

Long weekend was great, visited said sister and nephews. We went for a long walk, just the two of us while my parents hung out with the boys. It was really nice. Got home, hubby wasn't there and hadn't done what I had asked him to accomplish this weekend and got really overwhelmed. It's something I am working on in therapy - little things being blown out of proportion when I am stressed/upset. Easier said than done.

I finished staining a picnic table I picked up for my rabbits (free on garbage day) and they are playing with it today. Finally, something I got them that they haven't promptly ignored. They love step stools and stuff like that, so I figured they would love this.

@MissKittyDanger Big hugs. I know the feels. I stopped a co-worker who is also a great friend the other day and said, "Hey...I am pretty, right?" She was an excellent hype man, hyped me up, and said, "I know, I get those days too". So we've resolved to be each other's hype person whenever asked, even if it's multiple times a day.

I'd like to say I'm feeling better, but it's getting worse. I just tried to fill my damn nose sprays and they're out of one of them...again. This supply chain issue is beyond inconvience at this point. I'm doing my best to stave off what seems to be wanting to become a sinus infection, but if I still have this ear ache tomorrow I'm calling the doctor again.

Good morning everyone. I got home at 10:00 last night for the first time in 5 days. And I’m back to work less than 12 hours later. It’s going to be a long few weeks. I told my mom I’m going to power through until Halloween and that’s when I’ll take my break, because I already had a four day weekend requested off so I can still help and then decompress a little. I feel guilty that I’m not there the rest of this week but I have to work. I’m frustrated to be in a new job where I can’t just take off time with an understanding manager. But it is what it is.

Otherwise SSDD. Aurora was upset when I first came home but ultimately she came and cuddled me in the middle of the night which was calming. How dare I leave her for so long. Lol.

We joke she'd make a great nurse because of it.

To be clear, I'm not what you'd consider typical fat. It's probably more noticeable because I'm like 5'2" and on curvy side. You may look at that and say I'm over-reacting but honestly, I've always had body image issues. It's varied over the years.

I know! What happened to my tiny kitten, lol? But she's a 3-year-old this month. According to the pound we got her from, she was born in Oct. 2019. We adopted her in Jan. 2020, when she was 3 months old.

30 days! Still no update on how he’s doing. I can’t beileve 4 boys! Just the thought of having 4 kids in general wipes me out. How is my brother even related to me?

Tough week! Two entertainment legends have passed away. Loretta Lynn passed away last week (she was 90). Angela Landsbury died today. She was a few days away from her 97th birthday.

He's doing great. He hasn't had any accidents in the house. He doesn't like being away from me (I held him the entire drive back from PA - 9+ hours). He hasn't been crying all night, at least not that I hear. The grandsons "met" him yesterday on Facebook and now that's all they want to see lol.

Wow, I didn't realize you all had driven so far away. Totally worth it! He is so cute and sounds like such a sweet, love bug.
