Wedding Woes

Hump Daaaaaaay

I've been working on waking up in better moods and shifting my attitude at work.  I'm working on getting back to the "I never step out of my office much and keep to myself and stay in good moods" persona that I used to be here.  So far, it is making me a lot happier, just staying out of as much drama as possible and keeping my eyes on my own plate, as it were.

Mattress topper came in yesterday and is airing out.  I'm hoping it helps out with the crappy mattress I have for now.  That's the next big purchase on my list, probably next year.  More towels arriving and then my wet bar, and then I think I'm finished until the back ordered things come in, in November and January.  I've got a few things to return today.  So far, I'm doing okay at work and I think my hearing is slowly getting better, but things are still damn muffled and there's still a lot of pressure.  But I do run out of energy by the end of the day and I've been hitting my bed early.

I have to take my mom's car to be winterized this weekend, but other than that, I'm pretty sure I'll just be hunkered down.  I watched the first episode of Cabinet of Curiosities on Netflix.  I love Guillermo del Toro, so I figured anything he's letting use his name to produce would be great.  The first episode was too short, it was great.  I'm looking forward to the rest.  I also finished Better Call Saul finally.  Did anyone else watch it?  I have thoughts about the finale.

Re: Hump Daaaaaaay

  • Update about tooth - it's a lot worse than it seemed.

Not necessarily related to breakage, but the tooth has cavity. Means either root canal or removal.
I have a cleaning on the 16th and they can reassess what will happen Jan 6th

Other bonus is I have small cavities forming on basically all my lower left teeth. So we had to discuss family history. All things were always chalked up to timeframe for family members, but dentist thinks it's genetic issue. So now I'm high risk.

And I'm just in a bad mood.
  • Ugh that stinks @MissKittyDanger ...enjoy @kerbohl, and good luck with your work place small changes @VarunaTT

Foggy, dreary day but pretty quiet after work which I'm looking forward to.
  • I hope you have a great massage @kerbohl. There is nothing better than a great massage.

@MissKittyDanger I had to have 2 root canals recently and it went better than I could have imagined. I am sure I had a great dentist but it honestly didn't hurt at all. So all I can say is find a great one.

I am getting ready to go out with my girl friends for capital D, Drinks. Of course I can't get too drunk since I have a baby who still mostly breastfeeds but she will have bottles with Daddy tonight!  I wish I would have thought of it sooner, I would have had y'all help me figure out what to wear
DH and I are slowly selling things. We got rid of the treadmill today and got a deposit on the shoe cabinet since the lady can't collect till Friday.
Gym tomorrow, dropping off a car seat to my riding instructor for his baby, and then taking DS to Warner Brothers after school. They are all decked out for Halloween and he is over the moon about it. We went on Monday and he has been begging to go back every day since. Thank goodness for those season passes.
  • I’ve caught M’s cold and I’m exhausted and sick. It never ends. But he’s back at school today and we haven’t received any calls to come get him yet!
  • We are babysitting grandsons this week (ok only the two days that DD works). I'm exhausted already. Their new guest room is next to the furnace room and sump pump. It rained all day yesterday so the pump was running all night. Didn't sleep well at all. One of the twins is having a really hard time with emotions (hitting, screaming and having all around meltdowns). The nanny has suggested that DD and SIL have him evaluated. I agree and had actually suggested they see a therapist several months (maybe a year) ago. It has escalated since then. I don't know how she handles it when she is here alone with the three of them. It took her and me to get some calm yesterday. I never had two kids the same age so don't know what to tell her. What makes it even more difficult is that the screaming gets the other twin upset because he is very sensitive. Then of course the toddler wants mommy to hold him so he isn't in the line of fire. Ugh! Parenting isn't for the faint of heart.

Today is beautiful so we will be going on an outing this afternoon. We have the puppy here with us and he is loving running around their fenced in back yard. It is great for the boys too. They are really good with him. I am looking forward to getting home on Friday though. I will miss the sweet times but I will need a good night's sleep!
  • @kerbohl they did file it down and I'm not in pain, so because I have no days left off {taken with pd days recently} Dentist wanted sooner but ok with waiting if not in pain.

@missJeanLouise I had one not long ago :( I get the nitro because needle phobia so I get really messed up in the head afterwards. So I have to take the day off lol
  • @CharmedPam tbh M has good benefits so I'm lucky. And they now do direct billing so I pay difference.
  • @MissKittyDanger, oh no!  I'm sorry to hear about the tooth.  I've had two root canals and neither one hurt.  Just a bit uncomfortable for awhile after.  I had a friend who was a dental assistant.  She said if the nerve is still alive, root canals can be very painful.  But if it isn't, which is often the case, they aren't.

@kerbohl, enjoy the massage!  I love them, though don't do them very often and I should change that.  I had my first massage later in life, about 10 years ago.  It was a free Harrah's offer if I stayed at the Harrah's Biloxi (hotel stay also free).  For a couple years, they sent me that offer frequently.  I took advantage.  Not because I necessarily wanted to go to Biloxi, but I wanted the free massage, lol.

They also had a spa special on the cruise on I went on this summer.  It was a facial/massage combo.  That was the first time I had a facial.

@missJeanLouise, I forgot you are getting ready for a big move also.  All my sympathies!  I hope your H finds a job quickly, once you all are in the States (or before!).

@charlotte989875, At least M is feeling better but, ugh!  Sorry it was passed on to you.  I hope you're feeling better soon also.

I feel so tired and worn down.  But yesterday was a really annoying day at work and today is much better.  So I'm taking that as a win!

  • @short+sassy my last one wasn't bad. Only downside about my first was it hit infection, so that was annoying more than anything
