Tinsel Tuesday

We'll see how long I can keep coming up with holiday words for the days this week.

I have been overinduling in all the things.  I was thinking this morning and I think I'm just happy with no real pressing problems for the first time in so long, that I'm overindulging.  However, the 10 pounds I've gained back are making me uncomfortable and I have plenty of "stuff" at this time.  I don't need go completely ascetic, but I've got some other goals that are going to require locking down for a bit.  Now that I know what the bonuses look like here, next year I'm buying F1 tickets in Miami and going.

Otherwise SSDD, not too much going on.

Re: Tinsel Tuesday

  • I am needing to make a checklist for myself to get through the week.   I haven't wrapped anything and I think I need to just start in on it in between meetings when there's a gap of time.

I love DH but I'm trying not to say, "If you see me overwhelmed help and pickup the vacuum and not your tablet!" but it's still a few days away.

This time last year I was on pins and needles while Chiquito had the flu.  This year I'm on pins and needles hoping we all stay healthy.  I just need to chill TF out.
  • Working from home thank goodness.  Got the rest of my tat done and tbh it wasn’t what I was expecting. She said she wanted to do some shading, so I agreed but they’re more like background leaves and not shadows like i had in my mind.  But I’m putting trust in her hands, she’s the artist.  The leaves have to fade, and they will by 50% from black to grey before my opinion is solid on it and I show anyone.
I had pest control come out on the 9th and he said he’d do a 2 week followup, and ironically enough I called them today to schedule that followup as the dude was knocking on the door. And I had nothing but a towel on so didn’t answer. When I called she said she had me scheduled for today, but they didn’t tell me. No.  Not the day after a tattoo and I’m leaving the area open to air out. But first of all it’s not 2 weeks and second of all you decided to send someone out UNCONFIRMED! Nope.  He’s coming out next Tuesday.
I have to wrap too @banana468,  wanna grab some spiked hot chocolate tonight, watch some crappy holiday movies (or good ones, your choice) and do it together?

  • The other thing is that wrapping must be done in covert areas and I need to hide the gifts.  So I need to balance between getting it done and also, where am I putting it??   I can't have Santa stuff just sitting in my office.
  • Today is BK's xmas concert. She's so excited for it and she's so excited for M & I to go!
I told her and she hug attacked me going "oh fank yew fank yew fank yew!" lmao this kid

I'm off Friday, so I'll be sorting what we have and wrapping stuff and taking stock.
BK is going to IL's Friday night so after dropping her off, we have to stop at the store for a few last min items and possibly wrapping paper.

Xmas day we're doing my mum's place. I've gotta get meatballs and fruit tray, and I'll likely swing by there with food on xmas eve - and potentially gifts if I can get it together by then lol

I've still gotta keep a few things hidden - like BK's stocking and her Bluey house -  because she can directly see those. We're not wrapping the house, we're taking it out of the box and setting it up with a bow lol

Santa does the stocking and 1 gift.
We decided that because I don't want him taking credit for gifts I'm super excited about lol
  • I’m on PTO and I’m watching “A Castle for Christmas” and it’s delightful. I watched the Lindsay Lohan Christmas movie too.
  • I have yet to see that @charlotte989875, but glad you gave it good reviews.  The falling for Christmas is
cute.  But I fell asleep at the last 10 or so minutes. I woke up at the credit and went “oh no! Should I rewind? Naaaa, I’ll just assume they got together”.

    lol at BK’s excitement

  • Side note: I'm holding off on dr appt.
I was checking my boobs again, and M noticed a bruise had bloomed on my underboob. Likely new, but it's in the exact spot that hurts.

So I'm going to let that heal a bit and assess from there.

I may get new bras that have no underwire. My mum has cysts there, and I can't exactly go sans bra so I'll do sans underwire.

I’m starting to love my non underwire ones. I had some from Understance (shipped from Vancouver btw) that were of good quality, good price but I felt they ran a tad small and minimized my already small chest (and yes, I had an augmentation but I’m still such a wide frame), so I returned them.  I have some wireless ones coming from honeylove now.  A bit more money but they have a criss cross pattern on them I’m interested in seeing.

    It was very cute!

Spoiler on falling for Christmas: they got together in the end!

I’m watching the one with Freddie Prinze Jr and 10 minutes in and it’s also cute!
  • @charlotte989875 I loved that one, and I liked the Lindsay Lohan one too!  I recommend the "Knight Before Christmas" but as someone that loves the medieval period, I am biased.  I know, historical inaccuracies galore, but it's a knight and it's a Christmas movie and I'm going to love what I want to love!
I'm done with wrapping and I have my baking figured out, but I realized that I don't have enough sugar, so I have to venture out and do some grocery shopping.  I was hoping I was stocked up enough before Christmas.

  • Work-wise, it's a good day.  Enough to do to not be boring, but not busy or urgent either.

Personal-wise, it's a hectic day...probably a hectic rest of the week...and I'm already so sick of it.  Just a lot of stuff, big and small, going on.

Okay this is definitely going on my list!
  • My pet peeve of the day.

Bizarre -- Something that is odd or unusual

Bazaar -- a marketplace of stalls or small stores

Dear people of the interwebz.  I realize these words are pronounced the same.  But they have totally different meanings.  Please use the correct spelling.

I've never seen this mistake before.  But have now seen it about 4x, in completely different posts (not here), over the last two weeks.  I'm not sure why I've suddenly started coming across it so frequently.  It's bizarre (sorry, I couldn't help myself).

I don’t pronounce these words the same.
  • I "worked" from home yesterday so i could meet my dad halfway to iowa to transfer my sis to their house. My parents ended up sick late last week so did not come for G's birthday. He had an awesome little party with H's fam and my sister and really liked the few presents he got! His friends birthday party Sunday was fun, he is pretty shy overall so definitely had more clingy moments. Lots of the neighbors with kids were invited so it was nice to chat with them too!

I moved to my new desk at work today and it feels super weird! It's also a "managers" cubical (aka, one foot longer/wider than a regular one) and people are making a big deal about it bc *spoiler alert* I don't have a manager title.  I'm excited to join the team though and have one more day of prep to do for old job and then i'm brushing my hands clean. I also have a standing desk option now and have already been using it this afternoon.

I have this week pretty scheduled and planned for things to get done before family christmases - xmas eve day with IL's, planning to leave Xmas day for a week in IA. But all of that is contingent on my children being at school Th/Fri which is looking less and less likely given the blizzard that's coming. So we'll see how everything goes!

I also don't pronounce them the same.

However, I had never heard the word "exemplar" used until I came to this office 3 weeks ago now.  Now, I've heard it outside in the real world like 3 times now.  Just weird.

I guess that's true, now that I'm thinking about it.  Bazaar as a little more of an "a" sound at the beginning and bizarre has a little more of an "ih" sound.

But at least to my ear, it's little difference.  If someone was saying both words without context, I'd probably have trouble hearing the difference.

However, my pet peeve is people who are writing out the incorrect word.

Maybe that's it.  The error jumped out at me a couple weeks ago, so now I notice it every time.

I love my standing desk!  I hope you love yours as well.  I did get a wobble stool for it though, because your legs do get tired.  I also have this wobble board to stand on to play with as well.

So glad G had a good birthday! I bet it was cute.  We’re also up in the air with this snow storm.  Could it be bad? Sure! But could it be not as bad as predicted? Also sure, that’s happened before too.  My parents are coming here from South and I was told this should start Thursday around 4 or 6.. so I told them to leave as early as they can.  I don’t want them driving in it. My mom goes “you don’t want to travel here?”
No. I also don’t want to drive in it 🤦🏻‍♀️

  • H left this morning to see his Dad. He and his sister will be looking at places for Dad to live when he is released from rehab. It will be an assisted living situation. Soooo, I had to do the Costco and grocery  run this morning ahead of the storm. My Lord, it was crazy at both places. I got home and have been baking cookies. Last batch for today is in the oven. I have one more type of cookie and a pound cake to bake but will probably do that later in the week. I have to clean bedrooms/bathrooms and dust the main floor before people arrive. Three more gifts to wrap and that will be done. I also have my Italian homework to do. All of that might not get done. My tutor will understand.

Aerie is where I usually get my bras, so I checked their site and they have some non-wire ones.
My boobs are like a 34D {they don't really look it tbh} so I wanna be sure I have support.

I've heard of HoneyLove too, so I may check there. I've got a few spots I'm checking out :)

I'm a similar size and my goodness is it sometimes hard to find it in stores!  It's the 34 that they just don't seem to stock. I hate bra shopping because of it - I find bras that I like and look comfy, but then they don't have the right size and I always end up settling.

I use to be 34 B and that was hard too.
    I swear 34 is just hard in general - B or D
