Knock, Knock....

Anyone around today? We had a good lazy weekend. The weather was crap so we played and watched movies all weekend. Watched both Iowa girls bball games and holy smokes they are good - made the final four for the first time in 30 years! Super excited to watch next Friday.

How was everyone's weekend?

Re: Knock, Knock....

  • Is everyone on spring break??

We had a nice weekend. Relaxed and drink wine Friday night. Saturday I went and got my hair done and then met a friend for lunch. The weather was miserable though. Poured all day and was cold.

Sunday I cleaned and did laundry. After that we went to N's daughter's lacrosse scrimmage and then stopped somewhere for a late lunch.
  • Playing pillow forts is also an excellent thing to do with toddlers @charmedpam!
  • Hard agree with Charlotte, @CharmedPam! N was doing that with H last night, lol. Jumping off the couch and body slamming dad covered in pillows, it was hilarious.

    Glad you had fun!

Well we have a lawyer and we moved some of M’s toys back into the half finished living room. I’m trying to be optimistic that at least we’re not dealing with that guy anymore but I’m still feeling bummed.

Weekend was good otherwise. Got outside a lot of Friday before it got super windy. M had a cough so we laid low. We watched Madagascar so he’s been yelling “to the wild” at the top of his lungs.

That’s how it all started! Then I became one with the fort.  At first I read “pillow farts” and was like… none of those boys need encouragement in that department lol

  • Phew! Some major highs and lows on Sunday.

I discovered my Facebook account had been hacked and taken over.  It took me and my H almost two hours to figure out how to gain control back.  Because, of course, the hackers had changed my e-mail address and my password.

Multiple times, I'm clicking on every part of the website I can find that's reporting my account as compromised.  And those stupid, f**king prompts at FB kept sending me back to the same page to "reset my password"...which is the hacker's e-mail address.  I was already so upset and then to have their website be such a total POS.  And there is no help anywhere.  No customer service phone number or chat.  No e-mail address to send help inquiries...though my H finally found an e-mail address online for their customer support (what a sick joke to call it that).

Fortunately, once I got back in, it didn't look like anything had happened. I don't keep anything attached to FB.

But they also got a hold of my main e-mail address...just the e-mail address, I don't think they were able to get into my e-mail account...and had tried to hack into a few other things.  I had a number of auto-e-mails with "verification" codes" I had supposedly requested to get into those accounts.

Someone also hacked into my Pogo.com account.  It's an online game site that I play at a lot.  Fortunately, they had CSRs available via chat and the guy was able to help me reset everything and get back into my account.

I changed my password on my main e-mail address account.  I also checked my bank accounts and those looked fine.

That was definitely the lows of the weekend!

    ------------------------------------------

But now I'll end my post with the good/highs.

Harrahs sent me a junket offer for a trip to Lake Tahoe in May.  I already booked it and now I'm really looking forward to it!  My H and I love Lake Tahoe, but haven't been there in a few years because of COVID.  Unfortunately, it wasn't a free trip.  But it was only $308 total for two people, which includes airfare/airport transfer/hotel.  Usually just the airfare for one person is more than that.  It's 5 days/4 nights.  But I'll only need to take two vacation days.  The flight leaves Fri. evening, so I'll be able to work my normal hours that day.  Handy!

I also got a Subway footlong pass for April.  It cost $15, but that gives the user one 50% off footlong each day.  Pays for itself after 4 sandwiches!

  • My weekend was pretty low-key.  I didn't do really much of anything except household chores and sleeping b/c my period finally arrived and knocked me out for the count.  I did go see a comedy show on Sunday night.  The two performers were absolutely hilarious and I truly enjoyed it.  It was performers were queer and that was definitely the basis of their comedy and it was so much fun.
  • Busy weekend!  Saturday Chiquita had an art thing for GS and then I spent the afternoon doing laundry.  That night we  had dinner and a movie and watched HP and the Order of the Phoenix in honor of finishing the book earlier in the week with Chiquito.

Once the kids were in bed DH and I watched UConn beat the snot out of Gonzaga and now I need to cross my fingers that my alma mater has a victory Saturday night.  Side note: this is making it less likely that I'll be able to afford tuition there in a few years.

Sunday Chiquita had an afternoon thing for GS and I attended as a parent so it took most of the day but it was a great activity.

  • We had a really good weekend! The hotel we stayed at was 10/10 for service, environment and food. Would definitely stay there again. The retirement party on Saturday went well and today I’m trying to recover and pick up the house.

@short+sassy. But congrats about Tahoe! It’s going to be gorgeous!

  • Huh, I love subway, maybe I’ll do that too @short+sassy…. But I have to find a meat that’s not to salty.  Everything there has been extra salty lately (I’m on blood pressure meds).  I loved the veggie patty.

Glad you had a great time, @levioosa

The first time they offered this pass was last year for September.  It was a trial run, so they only offered 10K passes and they sold out in 6 hours.  But I got one.

This time, they have 250K available.  I didn't even hear about it until they had already been on sale for about 5 days, but was still able to get it.

I work and live really close to a Subway.  I used it 20+ days last time because it was so cheap and convenient.  It was almost debilitating, lol.  A lot of dinners that month were my H and I splitting a sandwich.  Overall, I stuck to the healthier sandwiches because it was a lot.  But I love sandwiches and they have such a large variety.

  • They’re already sold out :(
but I downloaded the app for future notifications!

Oh no!  They do at least regularly run good coupons on their app.

I also use the app to order ahead.  Sandwich is waiting for me when I arrive and I'm gone again in less than 30 seconds.
