Wedding Woes

Butt crack is whack.

Dear Prudence,

I’ve recently been forced to sit behind several people who seemed to have forgotten their belts that day—think spending four hours at a business conference behind two people from separate groups that were almost entirely exposed. Maybe I’m just a bit anal, but it grosses me out to the point of anxiety to see exposed plumbers’ cracks. In the future, should I say something to these people directly? Ask someone running the event/restaurant to ask them to un-expose themselves? Help!

  • "Maybe I'm just a bit anal"

    ROTFLMAO.

Seriously??  To the point of anxiety?

Look, this is not a good look but if it's to the point of anxiety see a therapist.  If there's no dress code for the event then you can't ask the managers to tell people to cover up and you certainly can't do it yourself.

Sometimes my jeans dip a bit in the back.  If someone approached me about it being an issue I would try to cover and would have MAJOR judgement of that person.
  • I appreciate the pun also!  But it would be creepy to say something to them directly and it's also not the LW's business.  It just annoys them.  So don't look.  If there is a binder or something like that, strategically place it so they can't see peoples' lower backs anymore.

  • I can't believe someone took the time to write about this to Prudie.

Also what industry is the LW that it's so prevalent that there are cracks...plural that they are exposed to in conferences??

    A great question, indeed.
  • I just want to know how this conversation goes.

“Excuse me Senior Leader in my field, I’m horrified by your body being exposed, will you please move so I’m more comfortable. Please don’t hold this against me professionally because I can’t be bothered to move myself. “
  • From my experience it seems like its just a thing that’s really difficult to avoid for some people. Back when I was at university in Melbourne I knew a guy who had the nickname ‘Asscrack Anthony’ for this reason LOL 🤣😂
