Not much here. M’s stomach issues have continued and he had to be picked up early yesterday and he’s home today. I’m giving a talk at 11 and my internet is in and out so hoping it’s solid for just one hour today.

@ei34 that is the worst.

Today is my Friday and I'm excited and a bit nervous. Going to stay/see a long time dear friend for the Chihuly exhibit at the MO Botanical Gardens. She knows I've been backing off on drinking alcohol, but we haven't discussed that I've gone completely alcohol free. She had made a comment one time that she hoped I didn't become a teetotaler, and well, here we are. I really don't think she'll give me any guff about not drinking alcohol, but people's reactions to me going totally alcohol free have run the gamut and some aren't very supportive or productive.

I have quite a few errands to run before going, so I'm glad I took the whole day off tomorrow. I might actually have to come into work at one point, just to get some answers from my boss. We've had opposing schedules for the last 2 weeks and I've got quite a list.

Otherwise, SSDDD, and counting down to what should be an excellent weekend.

So today is a day Chiquita's assignments are due for one of her classes. She told me, "Oh it wasn't in the teacher's pile so if I don't have this one done it's not my fault." She didn't like that I told her that the assignment was due weeks ago and if it's late, it IS her fault - and if I smelled nail polish that meant she was focusing her energy NOT in a direction that was great for school.

Oh the inattentive ADHD. You make a spunky kid.

Saturday is my yacht rock wine trip and the weather is supposed to suck. I may look like the Gorton's fisherman instead of Chrissy from Three's Company.

Lol but @banana468, according to Ulta Beauty, it IS national nail polish day… so she’s only doing right by her country!

I have definitely been there before @ei34. Infact, I narrowed down my arm soreness from favoring it. I tend to lean on one side of my office chair, because I like my left screen better and lately I’ve noticed my left arm hurts like a MOFO. I’m trying to get better not using my arm rests like that. No pressure on either arm BUT you know those massage guns? They work like a charm!

I’ve been thinking it was Wednesday all day. Wednesday is our normal garbage/recycling pick up unless it’s a Holiday week, it’s a day later. I was driving into work and saw everyone’s bins out. I’m like… do my neighbors know something I don’t know about? Is memorial day not a holiday for them? It’s supposed to be a day after!
Then it hit me. That many people can’t be that confused. Only one can. Me!

Oh well, I’m fine to skip a week.

@CharmedPam she already wanted to find the right rainbow to wear for the start of Pride month. She had a pair of rainbow toe socks ready to go and I told her they weren't a good idea for two reasons:
1) long socks when it's going to be 80 degrees are going to be really hot and uncomfortable.
2) They say "RUBY LOVE" on them and any preteen/early teen knows that's the company that makes period underwear. And she may not want the really friendly middle school students to have that ammo.

So she's wearing her rainbow Legoland t shirt today and has therapy this afternoon.

It's a month for me to navigate how I can be supportive to Chiquita and also to DH who is the most torn I've seen him. And I also think he needs to address his parents not to say that he is mad at them but to just talk. Despite having had conversations with them recently I'm not sure how much listening anyone is doing but MIL really takes these things to heart. So he needs to bring her ice cream.

Ugh @ei34 the worst. Sleep injuries feel so lame too. “How did you hurt your wrist? Did you fall?” Nope, just slept on it wrong.

Work today and tomorrow and no real plans for the weekend which is nice. I should go over on Monday or Tuesday to help my parents but I’ve been so exhausted I might just play it by ear and avoid making any promises. Otherwise not too much is going on. Oh I did buy an under desk treadmill to start using at work. I’m super excited to get more steps in and not have to worry about the optics of walking outside where people can see me. Also our area is really not safe and it’s about to be 110 degrees any day now, so wins all around. I just hope it’s as easy to set up and maneuver as it says it is online.

I'm just glad it's Thursday. The week itself seems to have gone by fast, but then each day feels like an eternity. I'm not sure why it feels like both at the same time, lol.

Since I usually only post about my tenants when I'm complaining, lol. Now I'll tell a positive story. I'm liking my relatively new tenant. She's on Section 8 and I didn't vet her income when she applied because she and her previous landlady said her portion of rent was only about $100. But when the numbers came back from S8 for my rental, her portion is over $500. As far as I know, she doesn't have a job or at least didn't list one on the application. I was pretty worried about that jump, to say the least. But so far, it's been great. She paid her portion 3 days late last month, nbd. She paid her portion of June's rent yesterday, a day early. Yay!

Still hot a.f here

At school yesterday and today they had water play. Basically they pulled out a hose with punctured holes for a sprinkler idea.

Original plan is BK was going to IL's tomorrow, but now not so sure. SFIL had food poisoning and even though he's not sick anymore, 2 days without his normal meds takes a toll on him.
So we'll see what happens. MIL is still there, so she may still go and MIL steps in more.

Well, I went to the person who hired me to talk about my pay raise and asked for a $10K raise. He said they have a meeting on Saturday and will add me to the list of discussion. I had talked to my direct boss, but TBH, I know he forgot. I let person who hired me know and he said it was fine.

I really want to get it. He didn't straight out balk or blink or laugh or snort or anything, so I feel like I've put myself in line with the other senior paralegals here. I pointed out what I'd already brought to the firm, that the person they fired had been hired before me and then had been sent to me for help moving her cases, and that my direct boss is very happy with my work.

Purple vibes!!!! I should hear next week.

@VarunaTT, good luck! I hope they come through for you. It sounds like it's been green flags all around, so it would be really disappointing if they don't.
