  I'm glad it's Friday.  The office is almost completely empty, which is making it hard to feel motivated.  I've been so tired this week and I don't really know why.  I'm carrying some guilt: I'm checking in on/feeding a friend's cat.  I skipped last night, going to her at lunch.  She was pissed the last few days I checked on her and seems to be in a food rebellion, so I justified it away.  I also had a request from my landlord to file a complaint against some new dogs in my building, so I did.  I feel like my animal karma is in a bad way right now.
  
  Seeing Victor/Victoria and Tripletts of Belleville this weekend at the movies.  I still need to see Spiderman, dangit!  Otherwise, no big plans at all.

  My grandparents have COVID. Boo. They sound okay right now but they’re older so I still worry. Hopefully it’s a short mild course. 

  
  

  Otherwise work today. We have FILs birthday lunch on Sunday. I might hike tomorrow if it’s cool enough. Next week it’s supposed to be 98 degrees and I’m already in mourning.

  Easy Friday. A few meetings this morning, had to get blood work but now I’ve got an open afternoon to get some things finished. And maybe a nap!

  Funny story, when I was younger we had a trailer that we'd visit on weekends and my mum and I would stay up there all summer while my dad would stay home during the week because work.
  We always had my grandparents come visit/feed cats while away.
  
  When we got home, our orange tabby would wait until we were all in the living room then walk in, look at us and deliberately sit with his back to us - he was big mad and big dramatic lol

  I'm so glad it's finally Friday.
  I'm going to try and push myself to get to the gym tomorrow.
  
  BK is done gymnastics so at least one less thing to consider. She also has a bday party on Sunday, so M is gonna drop her off then go to the gym.
  We've both been slacking on going. No real reason tbh just lazy, that started originally with busy.
  
  Idk what weather is like. I was hoping it'd be nice that M & BK could go outside while I'm at the gym but we'll see. With how hot it is, we're due for a good storm.

  Good afternoon.  This morning was busy, but it's chilled out this afternoon.  We merged with another company and some of their people have joined my team. We had a couple of management meetings they've been in this week.  They seem really cool and nice, so I'm excited to be working with them.  
  
  Tonight is going to be low-key.  Tomorrow, we're going to DH's cousin's wedding that's a few hours away.  Sunday we'll come home and probably do any laundry or housework catch-up.  BIL is taking DefConn to Cincy to meet up with other BIL and nephews to catch a Reds game.  
  
  I hope everyone has a great weekend!  @banana468, I hope you get some answers and Chiquita gets to go home.  Thinking of you all.

  I'm super tired as we catch up.  Kiddo had a CT scan in the middle of the night (and when you're in the hospital because one of your symptoms is an inability to keep liquids down, prep for a CT scan that involves DRINKING TWO CUPS OF disgusting contrast fluid is a form of torture for a 12 yo and a great way to make a tired mom delirious).  I add the tired mom because we promptly passed out after prep.
  
  Then today she had two scoping procedures and was diagnosed with a definite Inflammatory Bowel Disease.  More info to come but we feel good about a path forward.  And now we wait through the weekend to see how symptoms change.  Right now this kid has hardly woken up at all this afternoon and has slept consistently since she got out of surgery.

  Poor baby! That just breaks a mother's heart. There is nothing worse than when your child hurts.

  Thanks so much.  As someone in the medical field I'm sure you have some level of experience with it. 
  
  I'm feeling great about the level of care that we're getting and just trying to now balance a frustrated kid who is both frustrated with herself for not speaking up, frustrated with her near future and frustrated with the current state.

  We told her that.  And I'm not mad.  I'm disappointed only because I think we could have stopped this if we knew earlier but I think we would have still had a battle.  
  
  She's strong, a fighter and I'm hopeful that at least short term she now knows that we won't have judgment if she comes to us with issues.

  @banana468, I'm glad there has at least been a diagnosis and I hope Chiquita is feeling better.  But that's heavy news, especially for someone so young.
  
  From my own experience albeit for a different condition, in those first few months I tried not to dwell on the future and the difficulties I might face later.  Not always possible, but I tried.  It's a lot to learn in a short period of time, especially with so many changes that affected my daily life.  I tried to focus on that and take it one day at the time.  To treat myself with grace because I wouldn't be perfect, especially with something new.  I hope some of that will be useful and helpful for Chiquita.
  
  I know she is already in therapy and I hope that will also be a good place to process her feelings.

  I'm glad you guys have an answer, @banana468.  I was thinking about you lots, but was trying to stay back until you responded.  More than anything, I'm glad she's sleeping, I know you said she had been awake for a long time during this process.

  I want to thank you ladies.  It's been a hard few days.  
  
  We're told that this is a lifetime diagnosis and that people with this go on to live full lives.
  
  Our HOPE is that we have a vacation in August.  That's the goal and I think all other things are just going to be laying low.

  January 2017 I had issues that landed me 16hrs in hospital emergency {and it still isn't sure what happened} but there was 2 options and neither seemed great at the beginning but long term they seemed okay - just a solid change in things.
