  Yup, SSDD here as well. At least it's sunny out and not raining. However they're saying we could get smoke again from the Canadian fires. Just plugging along waiting for the weekend!

  Bummer about the timing Varuna. Could you make that day your WFH day and make up time before and after the movie? Or is your WFH a solid 9-5 day too? 

  
  

  Work today. Yesterday felt unproductive at first and then by the end of the day I felt like I had done all of the things. I completely scrubbed down the porch by hand, washed the pillows, cleaned the house, made dinner, did laundry, worked a few hours, did my budget/bills, priced out bathroom stuff and called BFF, my mom, and my grandparents (who are recovering from Covid well). Whew. And we have the BBQ on Saturday to prepare for.

  I have a similar event disappointment.  The shelter we adopted Maple Bar from is having a fundraiser.  It's a tasting event with a bunch of restaurants and the tickets are only $35!  I would love to go because it sounds like a great value, plus I obviously have a soft spot in my heart for this organization.  But it's at the Cajun Dome, which is near the shelter, but 2 hours away from me.  And on a Wednesday night (sigh).  I'd go on a Wednesday if it was within 30ish minutes of me.  Or I'd take the 2-hour trek on a Fri. or Sat. night.  But the combo of "far and a weekday night" just isn't doable.
  
  I am incredibly angry at the bank who carries my home mortgage.  I know I previously mentioned to you all the insanity of how much my property insurance has jumped up over the last two years.  Including going from $4400 to $7600, just this last year.
  
  Let's do the math.  That is $3200 more per year.  Which is $266/month more.  Plus then they do their obnoxious escrow thing with wanting even more than that in my escrow account.  So I knew my payment was going up at some point by maybe $300ish/month.  
  
  I happened to go into my online account today for something else, but noticed my August mortgage payment is $500/month more than it's been.  Excuse me?!?!  Why is it DOUBLE my insurance increase?
  
  And for the cherry on top, they have sent me ZERO notice of the increase in payment and ZERO accounting of where TF they are getting that number from.  So typical of them.  They do the same thing with my tax documents for the interest every year.  Mail it within the last 1-3 days they are legally required to.
  
  I'm going to see what is involved with taking it out of escrow.  It's one thing when they were hoarding my money in an escrow account that pays no interest, when the amount was only $3K-$5K (depending on the year) and savings APYs were crap.  But now that we are talking $10K+ in escrow and I can get a 5% APY savings account, I'd like that extra $500/year.
  
  It's also massively screwing up my DTI for trying to keep this house while I buy another one in Ocala, if it's a worse case scenario and I have to quit my job.  Unfortunately, taking it out of escrow won't help that.  I've heard banks still calculate in the insurance/property tax, even if it isn't part of the mortgage payment.

  Work is fairly flexible about making up time, but they do prefer an 8-5 business day, just b/c of the nature of the legal field.  I wouldn't be so hesitant, but it's right after the 4th which we'll have off, I was considering taking the 3rd off just to get a cheap 4 day weekend, then Wednesday afternoon too?  IDK, it just seems like a lot AND then vacation coming up a week later.  I haven't really decided what I'm going to do; I'm just really disappointed.  I hadn't ever noticed these 'mid-week matinees" this particular theatre does (it's a restored vaudeville theatre) were at 2pm.  It seems kinda silly, they're missing out on a lot of people.  B/c when I posted on my FB, I had 3 friends immediately say they wanted to go.  It was one of them who pointed out the 2pm thing.

  Really down today and just not feeling anything. None of my hoped for appointments panned out for Friday, I don't like the iphone i have to have for work. Hoping the weather has cleared enough (smoke, no rain) so we can take the boys to the zoo tomorrow. Plan B is probably the childrens museum. Trying to salvage what i can for Friday but may just end up taking back my vacation day and working.

  Hi.  It's been crazy the last few days.  We're trying to get moved out of the office and work has just been...a lot outside of the move.  
  
  It's super smoky here.  It definitely feels apocalyptic. The only place with worse air quality than here is Detroit. I've been getting all sorts of notifications about activities and events being canceled or postponed. 
  
  SSDD otherwise.  Just hate feeling out of sorts.

  Ugh!  I'm sorry for you all having smoke issues.  I guess it's blown from the East Coast to the Midwest.  Hopefully it clears up for you all soon.
  
  I have a glimmer of excitement at work.  And hope I don't get smushed down like a bug again.
  
  As a recap, I've been feeling very resentful and unappreciated for months because they suddenly hired all these people, including a new manager, for the Procurement department that I'd been running by myself for years.  I felt pushed aside and hadn't even been included in the new tasks/responsibilities for this department.
  
  I was assuming it's because the other department I work in (Steel) was going to be ramping up and they wanted me available to focus my work on that.  I was "kind of" told that.  But not that I was going to be totally cut out of anything new in Procurement.
  
  But I was invited to a small "meet and greet" meeting today (I'm almost never invited to meetings).  Turns out, the meeting was mostly about...me!  But in a good way.  They are making some large changes in steel for how they are going to do things for the upcoming big projects we have.  They want me to take on more management responsibilities (for processes, not people).  I've felt like such an under-utilized cog for so long.  I'm looking forward to the opportunity to "stretch my muscles" a bit.  The "meet" part was someone who normally works in Houston, but was in town.  He and I will be working together for some of this.

  Doing laundry today also had my haircut/colored. I'm going to try and grow it out a bit. In between all that, I'm rewatching Outlander before I watch the new season. On my girls' trip we binged Bad Sisters and loved it! 
  
  We need to take the pup to doggie class tonight but I know H is going to balk at it. He is leaving tomorrow to help his sister with some of their Dad's stuff and to bring back things he wants. However, we haven't been to this class in almost a month. We bought a year membership at this training place (where we did puppy classes) and can go to any classes as many times as we want for the year. I just feel like we should try and make it to at least one a week (which we haven't done).

  That’s amazing @short+sassy, congrats on the recognition and I think it may bode well with the wfh move.
  boooo @VarunaTT, why would they do that? I guess they expect people to have the three days or full 5 off?  I’m back in the office Wednesday too.  Our office is pretty lax with hours but I don’t think it would go over well if I took a longer lunch for a movie lol.

  I was supposed to wfh but my computer kept on kicking me off and I just drove in for the last 3 hours. I slept like shit. Up at 4 the last 2 days.  Ugh. At least I used my treadmill at 4:30 instead of using that time to try to fall back asleep. 

  The Bloom greens @VarunaTT are a hard pass! They’re not awful but they have the “greens” taste to it and my loaded teas are pretty potent. I searched “unflavored” but those definitely aren’t. I see people using them in smoothies on tik tok, so I have a base freezing for my creami.  Hopefully a dairy protein drink covers up the greeney taste. They also don’t dissolve well in a juice.

  I'm certainly hopeful for that also.  After all, the more valuable I am, the harder they might try to make the WFH thing happen once I move.
