Wedding Invitations & Paper

Second rsvp

Is it normal to have someone confirm their rsvp months in advance and then send another RSVP confirmation right before the wedding, saying to confirm if they “CANNOT attend anymore”? Written in emphasis just like that.

Re: Second rsvp

  • I'm a bit confused, the invitee wrote asking if they "cannot attend anymore". That is strange.
  • IDK. Maybe they heard a rumor that you were uninviting people and just wanted to verify that you knew they were still planning to come.

No, it's not normal. But if it seems they're expecting to come and you're also expecting them to come, then, well, whatever.

Typically people wouldn't be asked to RSVP months in advance. If you ask for responses too early, it's likely that people will have changes in plans and will need to change their response.

I'm not sure why someone would write it in all caps. Maybe they're emphasizing that word for clarity, or maybe they're being passive aggressive. There's no way to tell.
  • I think we need more context here. But yes, it seems weird. But also, were they asked to RVSP months in advance?
