make-up & tip?

Hi all,

Congrats to every one of you! I ran into a family friend and old neighbor the other day who offered to do my make-up for  the day of my wedding! She would charge my bridal party of 9 but offer a discount too. I was already thinking of asking her anyways because she's done my prom makeup in the past when I was younger and I loved it! This is a steal but how would I go about tipping her? I want to thank her and since she's already giving me free make-up obviously I'd be happy to give her a big tip but what is acceptable? Should I base the tip off of what the girls will be paying?

I would tip her a little more than you would if basing it on the cost of the bridesmaids' makeup. Bridal is typically a bit more expensive.

Also just want to be sure that you're giving your bridesmaids the option to opt-out of makeup (and hair). If you want to require people to get professional makeup, you need to be the one paying for it. But it's lovely that this friend is willing to offer a discount to those who want to use her services!
