    The drama in 40+ meetup groups is exhausting.  But I benefited from it because someone “had a headache” and dropped out of a light show Saturday night because a certain someone was going - so I got to use her ticket for it. I had a blast! Had a blast with that certain someone she didn’t want to be around.
    Also this person set up an overnight somewhere on Dec 2nd, but there’s talk of her canceling already.  We would like to know NOW (thankfully I paid more for refundable rooms) because the place is 5 or 5.5 hours for some people so we’re thinking of looking at stuff closer.

    Weekend was good, albeit exhausting. H was gone from Thursday to Saturday night but M and I had a great time. H’s sister brought her kids over and they had a blast running all over. We got kinetic sand for the first time and they were AMAZED! We did swim and went to my best friends for a bit yesterday- she has twin girls who love M and they had a great time. 

    Then I came home and napped hard. There’s no way I’m making it through the entire Bills game tonight.

    We arrived in Chicago on Saturay. DD and SIL left for a short getaway yesterday. The boys are with their Nanny at their Nanny share today so we have solo. Got a workout in after delivering the twins to kindergarten. Then DH and I went to Home Depot (because DD was out of light bulbs) and then out to lunch. We very seldom get to go out for food when we are up here (at least since the kids have arrived). Now we have an afternoon of peace and quiet until the boys get home.

    Typical fall weather for me.  We needed to use the heat a couple times early in the month.  But then it got warmer and we haven't used it again in almost two weeks.

    Despite my pooh-poohing driving to Cincinnati, my H and I talked over the weekend and decided that is what we are doing.  But we are going to break the trip up a bit.

    When I looked at the driving route, we go directly through three major cities.  Birmingham, Nashville, and Louisville.  Nashville is 7 hours away so we are going to stop there on the first day.  Which is actually Thanksgiving day.  Continue on to Cincinnati (4 hours) the next day and stop for a few hours in Louisville because I've never been there and want to see a bit of the city.  And eat one of those famous Hot Browns, lol.

    On the way back if we are feeling feisty, we will long haul it back to NOLA.  If not, we'll at least get to Tuscaloosa or Birmingham and continue on the next day.

    We already booked an Airbnb.  It's near the downtown area, which is also next to the river.  It looks like a swanky building.  They have a gym and a rooftop pool, with a fancy gourmet outdoor kitchen that has multiple BBQs.  Though I would have preferred a hot tub because it's going to be too cold to swim, lol.  However, no snow is in the forecast.  Phew!  It's just going to get almost to freezing temps overnight, lol.

    Weekend was good except for starting my period again...only 2 weeks after the last one, which was 2 weeks late.  Gotta love perimenopause.  Went by the computer recyling place and donated a bunch to the junior leage on Saturday and finally got those boxes out of my apartment.  Harley seems to miss them, but I do not.

    Otherwise, just chilled at home, working on Christmas ornaments and decorations.  I've got 4 finished so far, loads more to go.  But I'm having fun with it, taking it slowly and enjoying the process.  My new tree is also blindingly bright, like turn it on w/o looking and back away or possibly burn your corneas bright.  That picture is with every light in my apartment off, looking at it from as far away as I could get.  Some pics also didn't have totally dry glue.

    Had a really nice weekend.  DH & I had breakfast with a college roommate and her DH on Saturday.  They live in CA and we haven't seen them since our wedding 17 yrs ago!  In the afternoon DH and I drove to an outlet center and did a little shopping.  3 Christmas gifts done! 

    Sunday was church and then I went to meet a different college roommate for lunch.  She's about 1.5 hours from me so we met in the middle for a caretaker break.  Her DH recently had a stroke and is rehabbing.  It was a nice visit.  Came home & my boss texted asking if she could bring her dog by to visit DH.  We've talked about doing that for months and it hadn't worked out before.  She brought her Australian Labradoodle over.  He's sooo cute and well-behaved.  Had a nice visit.  Then I did a run to the grocery store to pick up some weekend sale items.

    Back to work today but the sun is shining and we are supposed to have temps above normal this week.
