    I have a laser appt this morning and was planning to go to the office but everyone slept in this morning. G did not go to sleep until after 11 last night, wtf - and N of course woke up a couple times as soon as G was asleep. So I didn't go to bed until like 12:30, which is not ok for me! 

    Have a little work to do today, but waiting for IT to reinstall some of my software that disappears from my computer every few weeks. Seemingly as soon as I actually need to use it. It's a quick fix, but just super annoying. It's so hard to really get in a rhythm at work this time of year when i'm out so much with sick kiddos and holidays. I haven't worked a full week since early December. Ready to just put my head down and finish some stuff. 

    Book club tonight, and i'm very excited to skip the marathon bedtime situation we've had the last couple nights.

    @Casadena bedtime can feel like the kids are wind up toys!  

    I have an appointment for my heart today.  Hopefully all is good and this givese a baseline on how I'm doing looking at risk factors as my family history is filled with those who have had strokes, heart attacks and some dropping dead.  I would prefer to not have those things. 

    Tonight it's split pea soup.  It needs to cook for hours so I'm hoping for a clean break to get it made!

    J slept good last and I definitely needed it. The snow is letting up finally and M went back to school. It’s beautiful but I don’t need 2+ feet of it all in two days. 

    I’m finishing up watching the Crown and need other recommendations. I loved Only Murders in the Building recently, and anything that isn’t too dark. Any suggestions?

    @charlotte989875, I started “sucession” yesterday.  I think it’s going to turn dark, but not too too bad. It’s good.  Not great. But I think all these awards have been happening for them in the last 2 years. 

    Today was the first day you could file your taxes in IL so I jumped on that! Lol. I’m back in the office and my only in office work day this week, so yay! Dinner tonight with some friends (unless they cancel and 8/10 times they do) and then I guess I head home instead of going on the date I set up because of the predicted snow.  Argh.  Winter just started but I’m over it already.

    OMG, the last 2 days have been so crazy at work.  I'm glad I'm sneaking out early to take DefConn to the dentist.  

    I hate dealing with IT people because it's like we're speaking 2 different languages sometimes.  I give them all the information I have and give my layperson's explanation as I understand/see it.  They come back asking me about customers were in a test environment on our live website...um...they weren't and if they were...isn't that *your* problem?!  LOL 

    DH did not get the promotion, but after a lot of reflection and conversation, it's for the best.  Toward the end of all this, I started getting really nervous about what it truly meant and how much of an impact it would really have on...everything. He was taken to lunch by his VP and the person he currently reports up through. They told him he wasn't chosen, reassured him he's valued, and then proceeded to have a really good conversation about his current role and its future, plus asked for DH's opinions on programs and processes that could be improved or implemented.   He had some feelings, but he worked through them and actually seems a lot more relaxed than he's been for the last month or so. 

    It's still cold AF here.  We leave for Puerto Rico in 2 weeks.  Can't come soon enough!

    @charlotte989875 I loved Ginny & Georgia on Netflix during maternity leave. I also watched the entirety of Broad City which was amazing (old i know, I was late to the game). I love Outlander too!

    @mrsconn23, I'm sorry to hear your H didn't get the promotion!  I know that must have been disappointing.  But it sounds like he is taking it well.  I can understand how at least knowing the decision takes some stress off.

    My small happinesses.  On Tuesday, I was wearing fleece-lined leggings under my pants when I went to work.  On Wednesday, I was wearing fleece-lined leggings under my sweats at home.  But it was warm enough Wednesday night that I could take the leggings off and just wear sweats when I went to bed.  Leggings are comfortable.  Sweats are comfortable.  But wearing them both together is not and too constricting.  I felt so free, lol!  And it was fairly comfortable weather when I was getting ready this morning and went to work.  Chillier than I like, but not terrible.

    Should be a good day at work and I'm looking forward to Prudie to wile away some of my time.

    I know i mentioned we moved offices a couple months ago - when we moved, they totally redecorated and didn't move any of the artwork from the old building and raffled it off to interested employees. I won my favorite! I'm pretty sure the lady in charge rigged it for me because I've been asking about it since day 1. But regardless, I'm super excited! It's an original piece by Michael Schwab, really similar to this: https://www.michaelschwab.com/posters/images/castories.gif but with a very cool train image. I'm going to hang it in G's room :)

    Pretty SSDD- freezing, work is work, kids have music lessons this afternoon and swim team this evening. ExH has been driving me absolutely crazy all week via text.

    I have an interview tomorrow - for the position I want here, but they don't have.

    It looks like it's 100% remote - so we'll see. I'm not entirely a great wfh person, so I've talked to M about things we'll have to do to ensure it works out.
    One thing is getting a better chair lol

    Anyways suppose to be bitterly cold tomorrow and Saturday - which pisses me off because I have a party to attend and I hate winter lol
    Like -20C with windchill :( 
    BK is going to my mum's place - we don't attend parties but my coworker J is leaving and because of company policy, she's hosting her own farewell party.

    My boss got a really cute cake, and I'll share next week lol

    Tomorrow I also find out if I can start {even slow} going back to the gym. I may start with like yoga or something instead of machines.
    My friend A and I said we wanna work up to doing a spin class lol I know it's hard and I wanna do a bit to work on my legs before trying it lol


    Perk of wfh is at least we can be a one car family again.

    @MissKittyDanger, good luck with your interview!  It sounds like it would be great for you, other than the WFH part.  But there are a lot of pluses to WFH also.

    @MissKittyDanger, good luck.  Think of all those days in the winter you don’t have to worry about traffic though. I think it’ll be an adjustment but if you have your own office space (with a better chair) you’ll be able to focus. But I hear you on that!
