Errands and a family movie night later, cleaning and a swim meet tomorrow, and having my parents and some aunts and uncles I don’t see as often as I once did for brunch right after mass on Sunday. Then some prep cooking and downtime afterwards. We’re expecting more snow but not significant accumulation.
It’s still snowing in Buffalo but at least the roads are clear! M LOVES the snow. He’s been asking to go out and play before and after school. Thank god he likes it because we have feet of it and more coming.
J had a weight check & doctors appointment today- really hoping we are finally in the clear and he’s gaining like he should be. All the good vibes welcome!
We got another couple inches of snow last night and its back to single digits. Hoping the children actual go TF to sleep tonight. They weren't down until 10:30 last night - which i missed, but also didn't want to stay out that late. When i checked in with H he thought they'd get too excited and be up even later if I came home while they were awake.I slept SO hard last night that i still feel groggy.
@charlotte989875, I'm glad M is having so much fun in the snow. Good luck with J. I hope it's good news at the doctors and he's at a good weight.
I also think snow is a lot of fun, but that's because I only visit it on vacation! We've had a couple days reprieve from the cold weather. But will be in the low 30s overnight.
My friend in one of the entertainment guilds sent me her movie codes, so I'll be beating the cold by staying in all weekend and binging on movies. Looking forward to it!
Today feels daunting. My schedule is packed and I am feeling drained. I barely got a workout in last night but I did it in the end. Otherwise SSDD. Grandma is a lot better but tired because she won’t stop running errands and has zero chill. That’s probably what got her to 90 in the first place, but she needs to relax and heal a little more.
Waiting for all clear from dr today then booking appt to get massage. My back was so bad last night - i think it's residual tension from when I was sick, mixed with just typical back pain I have.
My shein order came in - so far so good I got BK 2 new sunglasses and star hairclips. She was thrilled lol One top I was really hoping would fit looks amazing and I'm so happy!
Looking forward to the weekend - Going to a ConExpo in our city, and also to an escape room. Got a new chicken yesterday, and I didn't think they would get along with my other two. It was a tense night, but now they are not trying to kill each other. Bit of a standoff though, none of them know what to do now that someone new is in the coo.
That’s awesome @MissKittyDanger. Shein is such a hit and miss for me. I’m loving temu. I haven’t gotten many clothing items but the diamond painting and supplies are 1/3 the cost on amazon. I have an order in for electrical devices. They ship the next day and it takes about a week.
Another show I started @charlotte989875, was “the convict”. I think it’s Max as well? It’s Polish but with english dub overs. I like it. I like jail shows though like the classic Oz, OITNB and wentworth. It has a wentworth feel. Hopefully J’s appt is A+ all around!
We got some snow but nothing really bothersome. I’ll run a snowblower along it before it gets too cold tonight, but it’s mostly because I skipped my workout this morning and doing that always gives me ab work then next day. Lol.
Lucky you on those codes @short+sassy. I want to see a lot of those. Was Napoleon on that list? I’d do that but my attention span is so bad, I’d need to break it down 2 days.
Thankfully I have plans this weekend otherwise it would be boring boring. It was a meetup for a local play but lately the organizer has been canceling EVERYthing and being super dodgey. So I texted 2 other “yes’s” and said she was planning to cancel because of the predictive cold and will we still go? They both said yes and lets do dinner first. Organizer canceled, as predicted, but we’re still holding our plans.
It's done snowing here, but it's blowing and cold. I woke up this morning thinking about my packing list for Puerto Rico. LOL
I'm so done with this week. SO. Done. It's not been bad, just a lot, and really mentally taxing to have a bunch of stuff to stay on top of beyond what's normal for me. But in excellent news, all the coaching I've put into someone on my team is paying off and I love to see it. I've been singing their praises the last few days and putting a spotlight on them to upper mgmt.
DH and I earned enough points for a $100 GC to our fave restaurant group here in town. DefConn asked to stay with FIL tonight, so we're going to try the newest restaurant in the group and have a little early bday/meet-a-versary celebration tonight since the next couple of weeks are going to be hectic. Our bdays and anniversary are next week, but next weekend BIL, SIL, and nephews will be here.
DH has to go in to work tomorrow morning to run tests on a project he's been working on this week. The rest of the weekend is football, making all the cold weather comfort food, and relaxing.
@CharmedPam Napoleon was sooo badddd. It was beyond boring, Joaquin’s acting was just not great, and it was so terribly choppy. I couldn’t even finish it. It was so long. Apparently the uncut version is 4 hours so maybe that helps the choppy aspect of it, but honestly I am okay never trying to watch again. Also the historical accuracy is a little on the light side which makes it extra not worth it to me.
@CharmedPam, yes! Napoleon is on the list and that is one of the ones I especially want to see.
I asked her if she gets to vote on every Oscar category, but she said that isn't the way it works. You can only vote on categories related to your job. For example, only the people who work in "Hair and Make-Up" can vote in that category.
But her role falls under the directing department, so she gets to vote on the some of the biggies. Like Best Movie.

Thank you! I really wanted to see this and now I can wait until I can see it at home or skip it all together. I LOVE historical movies but not I’d they’re long and inaccurate!

Ummm those look WAY too dark for me. I’m more of a “parks & rec”, Great British baking show, everything is happy type of TV fan. I need all the happiness and light these days!

Thanks for the feedback! I'll put it toward the end of my "must see" list.

Did you watch Brooklyn 99? we were late to that game too and finished last year. Or "the good place"?

I loved the good place but haven’t seen Brooklyn 99 yet!
Very funny! Andy Samberg is not always my favorite brand of comedy, but overall it's a very funny show that echos the others - it's another Mike Schurr production. definitely worth a watch through!
All this news about Napoleon not being the greatest saddens me. I was planning to see it in theatres and was actually pretty excited, and then time got away on me. I would be watching it for the historical part. I guess I'll just rewatch/reread the Sharpe series again to get my Napoleon kick, lol. I will probably still watch it though.
Sorry to burst everyone’s bubbles lol. Has anyone else seen it? Because in all fairness I quit after 50 minutes lol.
And I absolutely love Brooklyn 99 @charlotte989875. I think you’ve already seen Ted Lasso right? Because that was also excellent. H and I kept joking that we needed to stop watching so many traumatizing shows because we kept expecting something horrible to happen and it was pretty much always feel good. Lol
I was supposed to travel to my company office in Florida on Monday for a training conference, but my flight was cancelled because of the freeze at Bush Airport in Houston. My suitcase finally turned up yesterday. It's also been difficult because our tax software for this year isn't working right and nobody seems to know why.
The one area of my life that has been good is my sports fanships. My football teams are doing well.
Re: Fri-yay
No plans for the weekend that I know of!

Napoleon definitely has split reviews.
